.  Not at all.   This comment makes me wonder if you watched the game, or just can't remember what actually happened?

1 - The Chiefs were a bad running team all year.  They ran the ball the 9th least of any team in the league.  The other 8 were terrible teams that were constantly behind.  The Chiefs weren't that team, but have a different issue, which we'll get to with item 2.

2 - ANDY REID.   When things don't go to plan offensively, Andy abandons the running game as a matter of habit.   He always has and it hasn't changed.  He also abandons the run when things are going well, because at his heart, he loves to pass the ball.  Its a serious blind spot he has.

The Eagles' D was cooking with gas against the pass too... racking up sacks and pressures on Mahomes constantly.  But, the Chiefs abandoned the run from the get go.
(Score 0-0). 1st drive - 4 passes.  0 runs.
(Score 7-0). 2nd drive - 2 passes.  1 run.
(Score 7-0). 3rd drive - 3 passes. 0 runs.
(Score 10-0). 4th drive - 3 passes (2 sacks and 1 Int for TD.)  0 runs.
(Score 17-0). 5th drive - 1 pass.  2 runs.
(Score 17-0). 6th drive - 1 pass (INT).  0 runs
(Score 24-0). 7th drive - 4 passes.  0 runs

Exactly when did the Eagles' run D come into play to be a factor in the game?   The Chiefs ran the ball 3 times in the first half.  THREE.  That's a common Andy Reid formula, and one of the things that drove us nuts when he was here, especially in the playoffs.

On the chiefs board they were convinced that if there was a super bowl rematch they would dominate because "andy would learn from his mistakes and commit to the run".  Then again we had him for two more seasons than them, so maybe we need to give them a bit more time to pick up on it.

The NFL doesn't give a rat's ass about player safety

Yup.  It's a convenient talking point, and nothing more.

That I think I'm hip?  No.

But dance wise, I'm roughly that smooth.

A few interesting changes.  You can designate 2 for return at 53 cutdown and if you make postseason the 8 returns becomes 10

I remember people were freaking because they thought Eagles wasted slots on Bradberry and maybe Albert O.  Never became an issue

Basically, for the most part, they made last year’s temporary changes permanent. I think the video/phone call was triggered by technical violations basically after a deal was made and they booked travel for signing.  That’s the new one.

I really wish the Eagles would be super petty and submit a proposal to make leaping into the stands illegal, citing player safety.

I hate this proposal. What is the point of having a division then?

If this is true, then a total scumbag move by Jones to try and go around Parsons' agent.

Ok emoji lesson for y'all.

Also a lot of young people think the regular thumbs up and basic smile both are sarcastic and an insult. 👍 :-) So use it often with them!

No it isn’t going in circles at all.  No one has disputed that "people have reasonably stated” argument.  It is a very valid backward-looking argument … assessing past decisions.  What it is not is a forward-looking value assessment of what Davis’ "impact” ( @ToastJenkins word) was on 2024 regular season and post season games.

As I noted above the Chiefs ran 38 pass plays and ran the ball 11times, 4 of which were Mahomes scrambles on broken pass plays.  That is a 6:1 ratio.  Clearly the run defense was cooking with gas that game.

I also feel like i am still learning what Fangio really wants from his players, in terms of role and scheme. So i discount the data from the first two seasons a bit

So that's what he meant by "selectively aggressive."

I hope Jerry lives for a thousand years as the Cowboys owner.

An interesting steak we’re on: for 8 consecutive years, the Dallas Cowboys have not gotten further than the Philadelphia Eagles

2024 We won the SB, and they did not win the SB

2023 we got bumped in the wild card round, they got bumped in the wild card round

2022 we went to the SB, they did not

2021 we got bumped in the WC round, as did they

2020 both seasons ended week 17

2019 we made the playoffs, they did not

2018 we made the divisional round, the only made the divisional round

2017 we won the SB, they did not

I think it's fair to ask how many points per game Jordan Davis could score if he were on her Grade 7 basketball team.

I’d argue that at 10-0 it was over…but at 7:03 in the 2nd, DeJawn did his thing and the game was over at 17-0.  Teams throw when they’re behind that big.  Really hard to point to some of these games as propping up the run D.  In the playoffs only the Rams game maybe you can point to.  Every other game was a blowout and over by half time at the latest.
