First, I think until proven otherwise, Jordon Love is average.  He's not bad\terrible, but he's not someone who will elevate the team around him.  I'm going by the super scientific metric known as "the eye test".

Second, the INTs became more frequent.  In 2023 he threw 1 INT every 53 passes.  Last year it was 1 INT every 39 passes.  If he threw the same amount as he did in 2023, he would have ended up with 15 INTs, tying him with Geno Smith and putting him just behind Baker Mayfield and Kirk Cousins who each had 16.

To be fair, his touchdown rate went up slightly.  2023 it was 1 TD every 18 passes and in 2024 it was 1 TD every 17 attempts.  So match the attempts from 2023 and he would have finished with 34 TDs last year, good for 5th overall.

Maybe i should walk back my ‘he’s terrible’…i think the best comp for him is Winston.  Some really good moments but way too many WTF are you thinking.  He’s the one who trips himself.  He just doesn’t have the personality Winston does that makes him loveable…see what i did there.  Packers will look to move on after 2 more seasons I think.

Watched a video yesterday saying that Kevin Winston Jr. missed one tackle in his college career.  Might have been another video asking who he compares himself to and he said Sean Taylor and Derwin James

I mentioned him a day or 2 ago…I haven’t broken down many players, but he’s one i glossed over and loved what I saw.  I’d love to add him.

I said just his size and stature out there is so resemblant of Sean Taylor. I have heard the Derwin James thing. Really looks like a player.

Wonder if he wouldn't be the top safety this year if he didn't miss almost the whole season.

If this is true, then a total scumbag move by Jones to try and go around Parsons' agent.

He was going to be a big time prospect but only played I think 2 games this year and was mostly an afterthought.

I guess Jerry's angle was to pay him less but say if you don't pay agent fees it works out the same?

Not so fast Jerry, I have ChatGPT on retainer.

@paco He's been a good young QB. His WR's do a 4x50 relay to the blue tent every game. None of them has either stepped up enough or stayed healthy long enough to become a #1. Is Love a great QB? We don't know yet. Is he average? Daniel Jones has hit average. Brock Purdy is above average. NFL QB play is not great right now. Mahomes is below average (last 2 years) for example. (Mahomes has had some injury and O-line concerns but his numbers are 17th-ish.

If I am the Packers I would not trade Love for Herbert. That guy has an Andy Dalton stink to him. Jared Goff passes for top 10 now? That guy is a big game joke.

Love is nowhere near top 5 guys like Allen and Hurts. I would not expect him to be there yet.

I see a lot of inaccurate passes every time I watch him.  Don't think he's too good.

I think we aren't far apart.  I think he's average until proven otherwise.  ( @Wentz_Era 's Winston comparison is starting to feel right)  However I would put Purdy at average and Jones below average.

Herbert? We are aligned.  I never got the hype and I think most are in the same boat now.

Purdy has the numbers and the record. Jimmy G lost to Mahomes because he missed a wide open deep ball. Purdy lost because a punt hit a 49ers' leg and Kittle pushed off.

I don't like him and I don't like the 49er, but reality is reality.

Could he take a big dive on a rebuilding team? I hope so... but after they pay him.

FWIW, my eyes are open on Purdy who has the luck of the devil. I did not really track 2024 for him but he had to lead the league in dropped interceptions in 2022-23. That off-the-Lions-helmet to Aiyuk play is not exactly text book QB greatness. He also won a pair of playoff games in 2023 because Detroit and Green Bay forgot to bring a real kicker.

His takes are now literally getting crap on.

I think it's almost guaranteed.  That offense in 2022 and 2023 ran through McCaffery.  2024 they didn't have him (Mason did a good job, but he is not on CMac's level), then lost Aiyuk for half the season, and then finally Debo at an entire box of dingdogs before every game.  Result? Purdys stats dropped like a stone.  Only thing up?  INTs

We've got 20 picks in the next 2 drafts as of right now. I highly doubt we make 20 selections. So I imagine Howie will do a lot of his usual little moves up and down, but overall I expect them to move up more than down.

Add up the draftees plus UDFAs over the last few years and how many total rookie players do you get each year on average? Does it matter whether they are drafted or UDFAs?

Love had a really good year as a Jr, he had s ton of senior weapons, as a senior he didnt have much around him as all those guys graduated got drafted etc and as a senior he had a drop off and really struggled.

Hes not a qb that can carry a team on his own, to be fair most arent but he really needs pieces around him or he like most really struggles.
