Milton Williams

Like him, but he's probably more replaceable than Milton and have 2 years to find his replacement. He's only good for 20 snaps a game, so he's not getting a large contract if nothing changes there. Probably can keep him for a fair rate, if they choose.

Davis-quality NTs are much harder to find than you are thinking.  Establishing dominance in the running play trenches given the quality of today’s O-Linemen is very difficult.  Davis does it consistently.

Understood. We'll see. I think that amount will be very difficult to fit but who knows

Just remember what the mayor told us "nothing is possible if we work together”

Yeah, but not gonna break the bank for 20 snaps a game. We gotta pick our battles here. Still have him for 2 more years. Think they find a way to keep him anyway with his GA Bulldogs fam. He should not cost a ton.

@Saltpeter It's also an all-time deep draft at DT

Old Howie wouldn't draft a DT in an all-time deep DT draft- new Howie probably will.

Wow.   One of those seemed to take way longer than the other.

Well, both are likely getting paid at some point. So do you lock in Milton now or wait and lock in Ojomo later who's a little more of an unkown. He may even cost more than Milton by then. We don't know. You can't lose both of them right?

Ojomo has two more cheap years

It's a mistake cuz the window is now more shut and offense is in shambles. And now there's no Tyreek to have a dominant O with Rice and Worthy to boot. You'd still have a solid core to work with Post Travis retirement.

Their "window” is shut?  They’ve won 2 of the last 3 Superbowls and were in the 3rd. All without Tyreek Hill.  The  outcome that could have resulted from keeping Tyreek Hill is that they never constructed the teams from the last 3 years because they were hamstrung by his contract. Their last 3 end season results couldn’t have been better unless they beat the Eagles last weekend.

Who cares if their offense has taken a hit?  Again - their results speak for themselves.  You’re implying their results would have "no doubt” been the same the last 3 years if they signed Hill his megacontract, and that it was a mistake to let him go.  Insanity.

Yes. I am implying that. Cuz they won the 1st Superbowl differently with a dominating offense and a solid defense. Rather than a dominant defense and a solid offense like the last 2 Superbowls. And I see no reason why that wouldn't continue. And now after all of this you are almost starting over with this offense and no Tyreek. Put no AJ Brown in Eagles offense and see what happens. There was no internal replacement and was super risky to break that all up. Yes they won 2 Superbowls in a squeaky fashion. But that probably happens anyway with their dominating offense and Tyreek. Will never know for sure. My point is their window feels more shut now with their current personnel going forward.

Davis, Dean, and Smith are important to Carter's environment here.

It wouldn't be a waste to spend a some money on Davis to keep your best player on D in line.

Team loses arguably best WR in NFL.
Team now has free cap space to build out roster, including defense.
Team literally wins 2 of next 3 Superbowls, and gets to the 3rd.

You as GM:  "Getting rid of Tyreek Hill was a huge mistake.”

I agree. Love having him in his role. But what do you value him at for 20 snaps  a game? Playing 37% of the snaps?

He's missing the point.  Definitely close minded.  If they kept Hill they are probably more against the cap with a thinner roster.
