So if we look at the top 30 so far who you picking out of these guys who have been mocked in the late 1st-early 2nd range

Donovan Ezeiruaku

Josh Conerly Jr.

Donovan Jackson

Maxwell Hairston

Of this group, would have to roll with Donny E. His arsenal of pass rush moves would be a welcome addition to the EDGE rotation.

I'm going Donovan Jackson.  Just think he's the best Guard in the draft and think we can get similar or better than Donny E in round 2 or 3

I don't want the last three, so it is Ezeiruaku for me.

@Alphagrand I'm surprised you didn't include Kyle McCord in your assessment.  I think he and Shough are equivalent.

I think it depends on what type of offense you're running.  McCord is probably more accurate as an in-rhythm passer, but his arm isn't in the same stratosphere as Shough, IMO.  That's not in itself a bad thing; Drew Brees is going to be in the HOF as a rhythm passer because he was extremely accurate and threw with anticipation.  I'd say on first look McCord reminds me more of Case Keenum than Drew Brees, though, unfortunately.

Shough can sling it 55-60 yards without using full arm effort; McCord just isn't capable of that.  McCord would be the better QB operating a low risk, ball control offense.  Shough will be the more exciting QB with the higher upside -- he just hasn't shown the ability to stay healthy over the long term.

Based on how the Eagles have operated over the last decade. They have prioritized backup QB countless times.

Even if the majority opinion is that Kenny Pickett is pretty bad, which I even agree, the Eagles liked him enough to trade draft picks for him because he was a veteran and the Eagles didn't trust McKee yet.

Similarly, I don't see how they could trust DTR at all yet and I really see no way it can be said he would run the offense better than Pickett did this last year. I understand the teams are different and his skill set may be better utilized with the Eagles but DTR was still horrendous when he had to play. He's had 32 drives for the Browns that resulted in 2 rushing TD's, 1 FG, 14 punts and 15 turnovers. He's not been good since entering the NFL.

And it's not because of poor coaching.  I think Stefanski is pretty underrated as a HC, actually.

Thank you i was trying to find it online but wasn't able to.

I have an Excel spreadsheet with all the trades from 1992 to 2024, so if you want any other trade histories by pick number, just ask.

I actually agree they have a good shot at regressing. But that's a big drop and our 3rd on a gamble. I dunno I'm middling on it. Maybe Nix is legit.

Maybe have them throw in a lower 2025 pick and then use all the mid to late round picks we have to move back up.

I would take that risk if the first two rounds results in (1) one of the elite DTs or Edges or (2) DT, Edge and S.

Can't take that risk with a championship caliber team.  A la 2017, the Godfather may come in and lead us to the promised land.  QB is too important a position.

I'm in Estes and GL every summer. I love that park.

Nic Scourton DE Texas A&M and Jacob Parrish CB KSU

You are not a Tyler Steen fan?

Is Jackson your heir apparent for Lane at RT?

Good assessment.

Would you call our Eagles offense low risk, ball control?

WR and RB talk…

Don't love Steen.  Don't care if Jackson plays RT in 3 years.  We could develop a later round prospect like Jalen Travis for that. I want a dude who can make this line more dominate and not skip a beat from Becton right away.

I really like Scourton, good versatility and the size that I suspect Vic is going to be looking for.

Parrish is interesting

5 foot 10 and 191 pounds.  4.35 40 (1.51 split) and 38 inch vert.  129 broad.  Don't think or can't find if he did the Shuttle or 3 cone.

Seems like he projects mostly to the slot.  Supposed to be an above average tackler

Both yes and no.

Yes, in the sense the Eagles are a more run-based offense than any other NFL team (along with BAL)

No, in the sense that the passing offense is an intermediate to downfield based offensive scheme with less short, quick, rhythm throws.  Hurts was 3rd in the NFL in 2024 in air yards per attempt at 8.42 yards per attempt.  His time-to-throw was 2nd longest in the NFL at 3.13 seconds.  Interestingly, he was behind Lamar Jackson in both categories (Jackson had 10.15 yards per attempt and 3.18 seconds to throw).  To me, this says two things:

-- both the Eagles and Ravens gameplan to assert their OL and RB onto the defense, then try to punish the defense with downfield throws once their safeties are brought up to help in run support

-- having a dual-threat QB contributes to both metrics.  When a QB scrambles out of the pocket to evade DL pressure, he is much more likely to throw downfield than dump off a 3 or 4-yard screen pass.

McKee is the #2, they've likely seen enough to trust him. Howie is always looking for talent year round, and has proven he'll draft a QB high for "the factory" if they really like a guy. But trading Pickett likely signals they're good with McKee.
