I did indeed speak too soon. It fixed the editing problem problem for embedding images, but not for embedding links.

Is there anyway to turn off this dark theme and go back to the white?

This dark theme will take getting used to. Is there a way to opt for the white background?

I also didn't have to log back in using my email. Both my phone and on my PC had me still logged in.

Yeah. Bottom of the page there are 3 logos. The default is the moon (dark mode). Hit the lightbulb instead.
