Does Goedert report on Monday? Davis? Dotson? Green? Blankenship? Jurgens? Dean? Calcaterra? Those are the players on expiring rookie contracts and the other starter on an expiring contract. I can’t imagine Green not showing up given the trade but he may think he was traded for a starting Super Bowl S. Dotson and Calcaterra would be foolish. Imagine Dean (and BVS) are already doing rehabilitation. But Davis? Jurgens? And maybe even Reed may be told it is leverage by their agent. But the one that really screams not reporting given all the trade rumors is Goedert.

RE: Mason Taylor (lost my @ManuManu quote somehow)

Aside from the nepo baby angle, I’m not sure what separates him from Ferguson who will likely be available near our 2nd round pick. Apparently, Mason is very graceful but he isn’t a good blocker yet and he doesn’t have much route experience.

Dream scenario the Eagles first pick is Nolan with a small trade down. Then trade up for Mason Taylor with the 2nd pick.

I prefer Harmon, but I think that ship has sailed and he’ll go in the teens (so beyond my hopes for a tradeup). He has all the physical tools, has been productive, team captain - a very balanced player that can make the most of being lined up next to JC and keep up his end in run defense. He’s a man, while Nolen is a talented boy with a lot to prove as a professional.

Looking at consensus boards and mocks, it seems that there are only four DTs worthy of a first round pick - Graham, Harmon, Grant, and Nolan. There are more Edge guys showing up in the first round. Maybe that's the dynamic of a deep DT class where the value is on day 2. My take is that neither Nolan or Harmon will be available at #32, as teams with glaring needs at DL will gobble them up.

Trading up with Minnesota (#24) or Washington (#29) to go grab one would make sense, as those teams have very few picks in this draft.

I doubt we pick at #32 (trade up or back). I am sure we pick a lineman.

Other than Goedert, I can't see any of the others becoming contract problems. Dean, BVS, and Jurgens are probably already in the building rehabbing. Calcaterra is looking at two guys brought in to play TE. Everyone has the opportunity to win a SB.

Just remember, Todd Bell and Al Harris didn't get rings.

I would be happy with either. I didn't mention Harmon for the same reason you said. It would probably have to be a trade up.

I haven’t read a single scouting report or saw a single video that makes Mason Taylor seem like a good idea at pick 32 or with a small trade down. What am I missing, and why is he frequently getting mocked to us?

Yeah a small trade up in the 2nd would be more ideal if they want him. Definitely to high at 32 in my opinion.

Taylor has a lot of potential he’s athletic, but taking him at 32 would be rage/10

Ugh, I did it again. This was the morning meme meant for this thread:

The Bengals now can use this as an opportunity to suggest Burrow is involved in a gang and cut him.

They will once Smith gets traded for Ramsey.

TE isn't worth a 1st rounder with this offense IMO

He's a very clean prospect.

But again, this class is bad. They will tell you "it's deep" so people will watch the draft.

I do love Colston Loveland though I think he's going to be a star. But they'd have to trade up and get him, which would be insane to do for a TE.

They need to and I think will not get cute and just take a DL. Unless they have Josh Simmons graded as an elite OT prospect and think he'd only be there because of his injury and look at it as a unique opportunity to get an elite tackle late because of a special circumstance. But even then it's risky he had a bad injury. And most don't project guard versatility for him.

I think the Eagles really want one of the better DT to drop to their range somehow, and if that doesn’t happen they’ve done the due diligence required to decide if Nick Scournton can be worthy of the 32nd pick. There’s a slim chance Ezeiruaku is somehow still there and they’d jump on that as well.

I think if the board doesn’t fall their way on a DL they’ll want to trade down. If it happens where there’s no decent trade-down partner, they’ll go strictly BPA at an unexpected position such as CB

I couldn’t type anything after putting in the Twitter link to that Taylor video, but Winks and Norris always do a good job with their prospect videos.

Campbell would be nice, seems like everyone mocks him to TB and LAR is the floor. I think he needs seasoning as a LB, but he has such a high ceiling… this would be a Vic pick, where I trust him with LBs like Stout w/ OL.

Finished 4th lowest in standings; cannot draft any worse than 6th even if (when) Bettman, Daly, Campbell screw them in the lottery draw.

Brière has 3 first round picks and 4 second round picks to work with. This draft will lay a foundation (good or bad) on which the Brière/Jones era will be evaluated on.

Given the three way tie with Boston and Seattle with 76 points each, why are the Flyers fourth?

They use regulation wins as the tiebreaker and the Flyers only had 21 of those. I think SEA and BOS were 26 or a bit higher.

Given the team has until May 1 to decide on the 5th year option on Davis, I can't see him rocking the boat. He'll be there.

Dotson - He's done virtually nothing here, or enough to stick in Washington. He needs to have a big year, and putting himself behind in the new offense under a new OC isn't a smart move. If he's smart, he's there early and working extra hard to get as many targets as possible.

Green? He'll be there. He's got this year to prove he's not a bust. A smart guy would see what Stoutland did with the former first round pick in Becton and realize this is his (possibly last) best option to resurrect his career. He's in a contract year and allowing himself to be buried on the depth chart is career suicide. Besides, he has zero leverage, and there's potentially an opening at starting RG. He needs to go out and try to win that job.

Jurgens - already there rehabbing. He's not going to hold out coming off a back injury. He's got no leverage right now.

Dean - also there rehabbing. See above. His leverage is completely gone AND his career might not rebound. That was a serious injury that calls his future into question.

Calcaterra? No way he would hold out with the starting TE job potentially there to be won. That's where his payday would come from. Prove to the team, especially if Goedert holds out, that he can be the starting TE. There's a few new bodies at TE in camp this year, but he has the advantage of having been here and likely will get the first team reps first.

I don't see the Eagles prioritizing a top end TE going forward. Goedert is great because he's a top end blocker and a good pass catching TE. But I see the Eagles prioritizing the former going forward given where these top pass catching TEs are going in the draft. It's much cheaper, helps the run game and we've already invested heavily in the receiver group. From an allocation of resources POV that seems like a reasonable place to cut some cost.

That is a reasonable point, but the drop off after Ferguson is substantial IMO

New from ESPN today … but not an opinion that I agree with.
