Loveland has the potential to be really good.

Sure, but I'd likely put him in the Ertz bucket for now (and much more likely to achieve that versus other F types in this draft).

Goedert’s traits are pretty ideal - great hands, elite YAC, OT arm length.

Love Fidone out of Nebraska. Don’t know if he has Goedert upside, but I’m very confident he outperforms his draft spot and is a damn good in-line TE.

I’m a Nebraska grad. He was hurt so much and was benched to end his career because of his poor blocking and poor attention to detail.

Helluva athlete though.

Britt Hager.

How about their middle aged D tackle?

Nolen is a run stuffer?

No, but not much of a point keeping him if they draft a DT RD1.

I want Jason Whitten 2.0

I agree with your archetype. I believe we want more than that … ideally.

I was thinking Whitten as well, but aside from Warren that's a lofty goal - I'm not sure if I can vouch for any of the TE prospects to that degree.

BTW... His name is Witten.

Thinking about the trading for a vet comment. What position would they target, for instance with pick 32? Thinking of an AJ Brown type of player, and for cap reasons in general, why would they trade a high pick for a player (not saying 1st) with the knowledge that they need to extend a bunch of players in the future?

A CB is a possibility. I suppose.

The context was all the draft capital he has in 2026. So doesn't have to be a blockbuster trade, but could be like next year's 4th or 5th for a serviceable starter. But again that's just pure speculation.

He can bull rush, but holding ground is a different skill (strength vs. power).

Agreed 100%. @Diehardfan apparently doesn’t understand the difference.

Yup but its the only reason he might be available. Kid can play

I used to be much more open to injury arbitrage drafting. But I’ve seen way too many pre-injury blue chip players never regain their prior ability.

I think if you’re going to look at those types of prospects they should be outside the top 100, generally speaking.

I hope DJ is wrong with his Donovan Jackson prediction at 32. Would be a disappointing RD1 choice in my opinion.

Here is to hoping for a run on QBs and skill players in the first round. Push a few EDGE and DTs down within striking range.

While Jackson wouldn’t be a sexy pick, the fact that Stoutland wanted him would dispel any disappointment for me.

So you rip apart our outstanding run defense? The DT rotation we had with Carter, Davis and Williams would be equally effective with Carter, Davis and Nolen

If Howie can find someone who can do both then Davis isn't needed

Sidney Jones, oof. Achilles that's not great, hamstring issues (who knew)... I guess putting a 185lb CB out there to play C1/C3 might not be ideal as well. I do like the idea of having the rookies hit the ground running though.

You guys aren't going to like the road this goes down

Do you mean discussing ad nausum JD and the 5th year option... again?

We'll find out on Monday, right?

He was such a disappointment

Let me get ready...

Can't see Howie going for a guard at 32. Even if he is versatile enough to kick out to tackle. We have a very good roster but could use immediately contributing players at other positions. Someone like Conerly or Simmons might be interesting there but not a guy like Jackson.

I don't think Uche and Ojulari necessarily takes edge off the board at 32, but I think it means that they're not going to reach for one there.

DT or CB are my bet for 32. Although CB there for me would mean Ringo is either not working out at corner, or they're sneakily going to work him in at safety and let him compete with Brown.

1000% chance we pick it up, 12m$ isn’t a lot

I would be floored if we don’t. Compared to picking up Barnett’s…. This is an easy one

Deadline is Thursday, May 1.

My guess is they are waiting to see how the draft goes before making a final decision.
