Looking forward to another draft showcasing how all mock drafts are completely meaningless other than to give the brain something to ingest while waiting for the draft. Never are they close to correct.

This is a very unique draft. After the dozen or so clear first round guys, there are dozens of players that could go #25 or #45.

Quoting pre-draft rankings to evaluate our picks aren't going to be useful. The order of that third tier of players is totally a matter of taste. One will be #25. One will be #45. They won't be much different in value.

This may be the forerunner of what Drafts are going to look like going forward. @Iggles_Phan and others recently made the argument that conference realignment, the transfer portal, and NIL have changed college football so that we rarely get to see a multi-year longitudinal view of the Draft prospects. It was argued that schemes have been simplified as well. If a player is repeatedly coming up to speed in the first year in a program, they don't have time to develop before they port to another program and spend time coming up to speed again.

They aren't trying to be correct. They are trying to be controversial so that people talk about them. Audience cultivation at its finest.

Shouldn't give anything higher than a 4th for him and even then I wouldn't want to give a 4th.

Paul McFadden (missed DeSean and Nick).

BINGO. Every year we see at least one or two guys mocked in the first round fairly consistently who end up slipping to the 2nd or even 3rd round. 2nd/3rd round mocked guys who guy in round 5, etc etc.

IF (and I stress the if) this is true along with the top 30 visits from Hairston and Amos the Eagles might not be all that convinced that Kelee Ringo is the answer. I'm not buying this however as apparently Ramsey and Vic clashed and Ramsey is a press cover guy which isn't exactly how Vic likes to deploy his corners.

Maybe its because the top end talent isn't overly exciting to me as a whole, but I haven't felt this uninterested for the draft in a long time.

Will still watch it in its entirety, but yeah

I would hate that because Ramsey stinks for years now. And, doesnt seem like a culture fit. With Ringo and Jackson in place as insurance, Id rather take a flyer on the health of Jaire Alexander if we go the trade route. I suspect he would be cheaper to acquire too, because of injuries.

We dont usually pick in the range of top end talent anyway. But, the eagles are getting a bunch of new players this weekend. I cant be anything but excited about that.

Dammit. I had plans.

FINAL THOUGHTS

-I would be more than fine with the Eagles trading up for Walter Nolen or Mykel Williams.

-If somehow Nolen and/or Williams is there at 32 you run up to the podium.

-I don't want a CB/Campbell/Green/Pearce/Stewart

-I would be solid to happy with any of the following players: Ezeiruaku/Scourton/Jackson/Conerly/Starks

-I would be thrilled with any of the above guys if they were able to trade down and get one of them

-I prefer a trade down as I think the value of this draft in the 2nd-4th rounds

I predict the Eagles will either trade up or trade down and my darkhorse picks are Oladejo and Taylor possibly at 32 but more likely a trade down. Trying to pin down one player for a prediction in this draft is tough enough but certainly at 32 but I will say they move down to 33 or 34 (Cleveland and NYG bid for the spot to get a QB) or maybe the late 30's and take Nic Scourton. They need size on the edge, he is only 21, and I think if he hadn't bulked up to 280 and had a few more sacks last season he's a lock top 20 pick.

If he can stay healthy, which is a big if, they'd replace Slay with a guy 3 years younger. If they ended the day with Nolan, Ramsey, and signed Simmons after the draft the D would be in decent shape. Draft another DE, S, TE, and OL depth with the rest of the picks.

That tells me Cleveland might be entirely out on all the QB's this season.

They might just resign themselves to the fact that they have to eat their Deshaun Watson medicine, and do it this year while getting as much value in '26 as they can to target their next QB.

I think this is just fluff. Howie has said many times previously that he talks to everyone about every traded possibility, just to touch base if nothing else

My ultimate scenario is Green or Nolen fall to 32, the Browns call and offer a pick to move up a spot to prevent another team from moving up a spot to get a QB. And the Eagles drop down one spot, get a pick, and still get either on day 2.

Tbh Cleveland if they are accepting they are doomed for 2025 and getting as much value in 2026 then they really should deal that second pick to the highest bidder. That way they can stockpile picks for 2026 draft so they can go all in to get that Qb if they need to move up. Plus they have a lot of holes so they need more than just Hunter and Carter.

He was one of my sleepers in that draft class. Big fan.

Hes basically always been a backup his whole career. He started 8 games in 2022. With 5 sacks. And started 5 games last year, with 3 sacks.

Thats all the starts in his career.

It seems like when he has those chances, he makes the most of it.

Now 30 years old, and nobody has ever seen him as a starter, itd be hard to get excited penciling him in as a starter. But I bet hes more than fine in a rotation.

Also, not for us. I dont think we need any 30+ year old rotational rushers. This draft is full of younger people who can handle that job.

Ron Jaworski.

He doesn't have CB Will Johnson in his first round, wonder why. I wouldn't let him slip past us
