Sets the tone well for the rest of the draft.

I have a feeling we'll look back on this pick as a steal.

Absolutely. This kid is already so good and yet he's still raw and just beginning to tap into his potential. I'm more shocked we got Campbell than Carter falling into our lap. Never thought he would drop this far.

Sounds like Campbell still has some rehabbing to do on shoulder so Trotter will get reps to prove himself. Obviously they'll expedite Campbell eventually like they did with Mitchell & DeJean when he was ready

Revisionist history…it was even a talking heads hot topic.

I remember the people saying he was skinny. I also remember dummies saying he slow because he didnt run a 40. Not a universally loved pick.

I think Simmons signs with the Eagles after the draft. I like Malakai Moore. Could be there in the 5th rd or take him in the 4th. Another Bama guy

If you would have told me a year ago that heading into the 2025 season we’d have a DPOTY candidate and a 1st round pick as our top two LBers…

Finally rewarded for being forced to watch guys like Levon Kirkland and Nate Gerry over the years.

About a month ago I had campbell in a mock draft but never thought he would actually slip that far and thought the draft generator was on crack

Im pleasantly surprised he was still around.

Many did love it, me included. Mitchell is a good example, though many thought he wouldn’t last or just didn’t know him or liked Arnold. Carter had all sorts of ‘flags’. Nolan Smith was a bonus. Davis, was hated by a lot. Reagor… Dillard was a lot like Mitchell, but busted. Barnett, universal hate.

Tomorrow will be interesting for Sanders.

I know Hurts went round 2, but that’s a no mans land for QBs.

If you have any real confidence a guy will be your franchise QB, you aren’t passing on him with your first round pick. And 2nd round is rich for a QB flier. So I’m not sure that one of the QB needy teams that was linked to him in round 1…they basically did their research and said he isn’t their guy…not so sure it’s a given they are just going to pull the trigger when they are up in round 2.

This was a typical case of the media running away with a narrative about a player, hyping him up, and then teams actually telling you what they thought of him after going through their process. There’s nothing special about Sanders. Doesn’t mean he can’t be a good player, but he was never going to be a top 5-10 pick like the media wanted you to think. Dart is more athletic and that’s a priority for the QB position now. That’s what Daboll looks for in his offense along with a lot of other teams.

There were also rumors that Sanders was a terrible interview as well. Couple that with non-earth shattering talent, the ego, and his fall makes sense.

And the Kiper coverage of him was very strange tonight. I’m convinced he was on the take from the family or something. For a guy like him to have 40 years of knowledge, sources, relationships, etc to be blind-sided like that about him falling shows he either doesn’t have it anymore or chose to ignore it.

Breer: One last thought: I like the Eagles’ pick of Jihaad Campbell. On talent, he’s a mid-first-rounder. The medical is 100% why he fell. Had surgery on one shoulder that some teams thought would mean starting the season on PUP. And his other shoulder may need surgery after the season. Plus there were questions with his knee.

Good gamble, but a gamble nonetheless.

Howie wouldn't take a guy if their doctors weren't sure he'd be ok.

Barnett was universally loved by all except me. I got universal hate for that.

Many loved Smith, but not universal. Im still shocked by people thinking he was slow.

Mitchell may be the most universally loved pick ever.

He said they don’t have any concerns about his medicals in his PC.

Saban said he never really played behind the line until this year. Played end, and outside. Of course college is different than the pros and he is like 235lbs. But...I wouldnt put it past him. Nobody projected Parsons as an edge either. And looking at his NFL.com scouting report not they said play him at 4-3 WILL and let him rush the passer on 3rd downs. He was more of an LB in college than Campbell was.

Parsons was about 10lbs heavier. But has shorter arms.

We will see if the eagles want Campbell to put on any weight to get more edge time, or if they are happy with his weight for a predominantly off ball role.

I could certainly be wrong about him. He’s young and can develop more physically and be a true edge. I just see him more as an ILB who can do some edge things.

100% his dad and his arrogance are the issue. Sanders is 1st round talent in just about any draft. His accuracy and decision making are very good. He’s got an arm to make 90% of NFL throws and enough athleticism to survive in todays NFL.

I believe he said "long term" concerns. So who knows what that means for the beginning of the season. Or the summer after his rookie year. If he gets the other shoulder fixed. But.. whatever. Im not worried.

1st round CB or LB is hard not to love given history.

Im fine with whatever. I think he will be great at anything he is asked.

Give me Winston Jr tomorrow and I’m happy.

I’m thrilled with the pick. He just needs to sharpen his instincts and reads a bit and become a more solid tackler. He does those things and he’s a star.
