If you had to guess who was higher on the Eagles board: Campbell or Nolen?

On one hand the Eagles highly value DT. On the other hand, Fangio loves LBs and if the Eagles view Campbell as an Edge/stud ILB hybrid they value that a lot too and Fangio's opinion.

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

For a year I've heard this draft for QBs wasn't good. They're treating him like he's great

Tallest midget

Yeah. If he was called Robert Smith, his media evals would be a lot more pragmatic. The media should have listed to the Teams a little more closely - I never saw the Stillers picking him at all. Just not how they roll at QB or in their org.

So, after a night to sleep on it. I have to say I really like the pick. I wanted to scream after Gannon took Nolen, and I thought we would take Ezeiruaku or Green at 32 after that. Like I said yesterday, I was on board with Campbell at 32, but I didn't think Howie would really do it. Well...he did it and took the best player/athlete on the board, and I love it.

As for the whole ILB/edge discussion, I think they are going to park Campbell next to Baun and have him learn to be a hybrid. Fangio having both guys out there, shifting and dropping, creating confusion for offensive lines on who is coming. If/when Dean comes back, I'd expect to see some 3-3-5 looks -- Smith/Davis/Carter upfront and Campbell/Baun/Dean at LB -- where you don't know who is rushing vs. dropping. I think he's another Baun, but maybe he rushes the passer more at first. Have Baun fake the blitz over RT, the line shifts, and then Baun bails and Campbell flies in off the LT.

Long term, this likely means Dean is gone after this year. And Baun is probably really only here for 2 years, and then Campbell takes over. It's a way to save $$ at LB for the next 4-5 years. I still think we need to add a premium DT at some point tonight.

Nolan was 2022 with JD (and he was the third pick after Beefy Jurgy)

2023 we traded out of the 2nd and took Sydney+Steen in the third

No -- we took Nolan Smith with the 30th pick in 2023. Nakobe was the 3rd round pick in 2022.

They'll never be honest, but I'd bet if Nolen was there, they would have taken him over Campbell.

I want no part of Campbell at EDGE. He's a stack LB. Let him rush as a blitzer and create more havoc.

Both our starting EDGEs can drop (Smith, Hunt). We couldn't do that with Graham/Sweat. If we get one more EDGE who can drop, this is a 4-2-5 defense where we can really mess up blocking schemes. For that reason, Scourton in RD2.

We assume that Howie was trying to trade up for Campbell, given the boatload that ATL gave up… maybe it was Pearce (I hope not) especially if the edge only narrative wins out.

I believe Rap and Schefter when they said the Eagles were trying to trade up for him. For one, how fired up Howie was when they showed the Eagles war room. Man he was fired up. I don't think Pearce was their cup of tea. I didn't see them moving up for a safety either.

Interesting tidbit from the Philly Special podcast. Daniel Jeremiah and Washburn are friends, which may explain how he was able to peg Campbell to the Eagles at #32 in his final mock.

Interested to see where Mike Green goes. I don’t know why people still had him so high in their mocks. Wouldn’t be shocked to see him still on the board tomorrow.

I wonder how bad the medicals for Johnson and Revel are. Guys that talented at CB falling surprised me a bit.

Twitter is such a POS, it says I can't view tweets because I viewed the max number per day whatever that means lol.

While unverified users could initially view 600 posts, those with Twitter blue accounts could view up to 6,000

Means you either viewed 600 posts or 6000 👀

Please give me TJ Sanders in round 2. I'm high on Ojomo taking over for Milt, but need more depth.

EDIT: Shemar Turner works too, but guessing that requires a serious trade up.

I agree it's possible. I still would be willing to pull the trigger on him if he's there at 64. He's a stud. To come out of your first two picks with Green and Campbell would be insane. But this is the same league where Carter fell to 9, the best player in the draft. La'El Collins went undrafted because police spoke to him about a murder(but not as a suspect) and Tunsil fell from 1 to 12 because he hit a bong.

Two sexual assault allegations is very serious, wouldn't be stunned at all if he fell, but again I'd take him.

I don't think those numbers are accurate one way or the other. And for some reason it only applies to the web browser and not the app.

TJ Sanders in RD2 would also be very good.

Getting Sanders in RD2 opens the door to signing Justin Simmons to be the FS too.

Would love this. Think we need to trade up into the early 50s, maybe late 40s to get him. I think there is going to be a run on the Dline in the 2nd round.

Just to give an idea of what the Eagles need to do to move up.

Pick 64 has a value of 270 and pick 96 is 116.

Pick 51 has a value of 390.

I don't see them just giving away a 3rd to move up 13 spots. It will be interesting to see how he moves around these middle rounds.

I like Mukuba a lot, would be good with him in the 3rd

Hunt Davis Carter

Campbell Baun Trot Smith

Our front 7 probably looks something like that. Ojomo I’m sure technically gets the start over Hunt but I think Hunt is definitely the better player.

Hunt will be in the OLB rotation with Smith and Campbell. Don't forget Uche and Ojulari.

DT would be the logical target today.

Green Bay: terrible place to host the draft.

Never been to Green Bay during a football game or the 145,000 that Roger claimed. But we had a customer I would visit a few times a year for a while there and it is a friendly little Midwest city. But I imagine as crowded as it is this weekend, his complaint has merit. Nashville is exactly South Beach. Enjoy Broad, Cam.

There’s going to be several packages with hunt Campbell and Smith all on the field. Hunt started playing too well to keep him off the field.

I agree a DT/ 3-4 DE should be a target today.

For day 2, I have 2 players ranked in the unfair to the league category for us.

Omar Norman-Lott, Josaiah Stewart

Close to that level of unfairness would be TJ Sanders, Revel, and Will Johnson

Very exciting would be Kevin Winston, Mukuba, Amos, or Porter, Savaiinaea

Exciting- Mason Taylor, Ferguson, Arroyo, Ezeiruaku, Scourton

Good- Ratledge, Milum, Alfred Collins

Weird but Erect- Treveyon Henderson, Burden, Higgins, Noel, Harris

Howie was talking about how he's still learning what to look for and how he's learned from Vic. That's...confidence. Old Howie and other GM's don't reflect like that. They want to look like they know everything and have the ultimate plan.

But paradoxically, when you say that from the position of strength that Howie is in, he just looks even more in control.
