I was hoping for a trifecta of Nolen, Stewart, and Norton-Lott

Nolen & Lott would've been a bit redundant don't you think ?

Drafting Ty Robinson twice was a moment we'll never forget.

He's a big fella.

Redundant in a very good way IMO. I was thinkingt succession plan for when Ojomo gets us a 2027 3rd Round Comp Pick.

I never said that quote about Nolen & Lott.

Howie gets the Cap hit regardless of whether he keeps Huff or trades him. Before the Draft Huff had a (possible) role as a dedicated pass rusher. Now with APR able to fill that role, there is very little downside risk in trading Huff. Howie and the scouts will be assessing all the other 31 teams to see which ones would benefit from adding a designated pass rusher.

I could be wrong, but I think it's worse if they trade him now.

Agreed. The Board failed to clear the comment cache and when I deleted the content it scrambled the headers.

Why? I’m intrigued.

Before June 1st you lose the flexibility to split hit between this year and next year. That gets a little overrated because the 2 year hit is the same and you can generally move someone else's cap money to next year

We're in our SB window and the 2025 draft class was frankly bad. A big part of Campbell's calculation is "who cares if he's a one-contract player". Give us 4-5 years of very strong ILB play and it's worth it.

Agreed 100%

The theme of this offseason for Stoutland University was "Clay.” Adding Green, Hinton, Williams, and Pierce gives Jeff and his assistants a whole lot of molding and remolding to do.

I thought Huff had some massive guaranteed roster bonus that is due immediately before the regular season starts... I'd love for some team to take him off our hands now, but I think it will require some preseason magic.

The same logic applies to Robinson … "who cares if he’s old and ends up being a one-contract player.” Gives us 4 years of solid DT play and it’s worth it.

I actually thought he was bigger, like the 310lbs posted by Nebraska was reasonable. I guess he either fooled me, or he dropped a lot of bad weight ahead of the combine.

That would be ideal, and @LeanMeanGM has argued for that several times in past discussions. However, Howie will need to negotiate that in the terms of the trade.

100%

The Giants spend a 3rd on Darius Alexander who turns 25 in August. That's crazy for a team picking in the top 3.

Why was it bad? They have two potential starters and possibly a third with Robinson. Jeff will turn at least one of those OL into at minimum a good backup. I think this class will surprise people. I'm not sure what people expected or wanted that could have made it better picking as late as they did.

Don't forget about the Kenyon Green reconstruction project.

Basically, a 2nd rounder... like Steen.

Green is the first name in my list of four. I used the term "remolding” rather than your term reconstruction.

I could have included Kendall in the list of new students at Stoutland U, but I think he is less of a project than the other four.

I think there’s both a chance Green starts and that he’s cut. Cut probably being more likely. They are going to have to carry a few young OL and Green only has a year left on deal so they won’t carry him just because

Ah sorry missed that

I think he was saying that as a whole, the 2025 class was bad

I think what he was referring to was Alexander’s age. Taking an old player when your roster is full of holes and rebuilding is not wise.
