In 2022 we signed LB K. White and he fit well in or defense. In 2023 we signed Morrow and Cunningham and they didn't pan out. Last year we signed Baun and D. White. One huge hit, one huge miss.

Sometimes things work. Sometimes they don't. When the team has an opening, it needs to be filled. Where the person comes from is irrelevant.

Huh?   Do you mean the resume of the person being hired to fill a position doesn't matter?  If that is so, then on what basis do you decide whom you would hire to fill a vacancy?

Did you see that they have superstition about the GDT? They have a specific person who is supposed to start it (like we have you). But then 2 other guys also started game day threads and they were mad, one even said he should be banned.

They also start it at midnight on game day, it has to be 12:00 midnight on the dot. The guy started it at 11:59am so the date showed the day before. There were several people suggesting multiple times that it was bad luck and the reason they were losing.

Mods, should we have a "cowards list" here? It would be 90% of the GDT

That’s not what he said.

Biggest play of the season by far. Franchise-altering play.

There were folks on here who felt similarly.  Many thought it was going to be a close game.  Pages about feeling nervous and stating if Barkley didn't have another huge game we would lose.  Hindsight can be entertaining, but it wasn't a vat of confidence here. Myself and a few others were supremely confident, but many were not.

We could call it The UK_EaglesFan Gameday lounge.

I will never begrudge a fan their apprehension before a big game.   But, I can happily laugh at opposition fans who are overly confident in their team.  Opposite ends of the same spectrum.

I watch the All22 because it gives a view of the coverages and play that you don’t see on TV.  On TV you are lucky if you see 20% of the CB plays and rarely when the CB isn’t targeted.  (It is also why I hate single photos as proof of who is open.  There is a reason @just relax usually shows multiple freeze frames when he posts from the All22, to see the play progress.).

What you see is a CB that was a bit stiff in the hips coming out of college who now does a pretty decent job of mirroring and demonstrates without a doubt to me not only his speed, but his burst on makeup speed.  So many fast players play fast but lack that extra burst, Ringo has burst.  He may never be more than a back up and special team player but he looks like more.  But year three determines his value.

Now let’s talk DBs currently on the roster.  There is Ricks.  Just not fast enough. Good football IQ.  Castro-Fields. Great speed but not great instincts. Stiffer than Ringo.  AJ Woods, basically a small nickel as I see it.  Good athleticism but I just haven’t seen enough of him to assess value.  Eagles kept him and Sam the whole season on the PS.  Maybe a back up nickel at best. I thought it was interesting that when they needed a spot, they cut Castro-Fields and kept him and Sam.  Note that Castro-Fields wasn’t off the roster very long.  Sam’s not going to last, IMHO, too slow and too old to train.  Nickerson is a journeyman at best.

It will be interesting if being around the other players allows Cine to resurrect his career. (I suspect he believed his clippings so maybe, if he is coachable.)

Cine played well as a rookie but then never regained form or the opportunity after he was injured.  I think having him the whole offseason will give us a sense of whether he still is the same player he was in college.  I think Ringo should be given an opportunity to start next season but I am not sure why Fangio did not want him starting over Rodgers.  My guess is that Ringo was slower to pick up on some of the zone match concepts than Rodgers.

I’ll be the first to say KC fans had every reason to be confident, but damn, they were down right arrogant. And I’m still only half way thru a 139 page thread.

I will give them one thing. They discovered who ESP is and they find him to be an idiot, so they’re not totally lost.

I plan to go thru everything from your thread once I’m done lol.

My two cents on hiring Patullo:

The Eagles offense changed during the bye, going from pass first to run first, to put it most simply. That was not Moore’s offense, based on his past record. Rather, it was an offense that the players wanted and spoke up about. In that regard it was more Stoutland’s and the OL’s offense than Moore’s. I have no sense of Patullo as a play caller but he has to know the scheme as well as anyone and better than any outside hire. I hated Moore’s play calling to start the season so I don’t think Patullo’s can be any worse. So long as we play to our strengths I think we’ll be fine.

Howie's challenge this offseason will be to figure out how to do something that makes the team better. Right now we're all in a mode of it not getting that much worse (coaching departures & projected FA losses). He usually pulls some rabbit out of the hat.

He has to resign our key contributors where he can and crucially trust his draft scouting to carry on as it's been the last few years rather than be tempted by a swing for the fences trade like Garrett.

I will for this game. We had the best D by a wide margin, best Oline by a wide margin, best RB, best WRs, all by a wide margin.  And we came off the NFC championship scoring 55 points.  Not destroying them would have been the oddity.  And it was plain to see.

I'm not saying Garrett size move but going into a season where you on paper downgraded your coaching and talent doesn't seem like a fun plan
