I disagree that there are no good characters in Washington. You certainly can say that the majority have some flaws in their character, but then you also have the extreme scumbags on both sides. The worst out of all of them is the one you voted for. He has no morals whatsoever and will go down as the worst and most corrupt president ever. You know who had character and a backbone in Washington: Adam Kinsinger and Liz Cheney. They stood up for what’s right, even though it ended their political careers. I don’t need the president as a friend, but I do need him to lead with example, dignity, integrity and let’s also throw in intelligence… Trump has none of that.

Other than that, anyone who voted for him is pretty thrilled with what hes been able to do. The border has been probably his biggest win so far. But the stock market is another, in the face of all the noise over tariffs. Also, gas prices continue to go lower and lower. I just saw $3.03 today at my local sheetz and I wonder if we are going to see $2.?? for the first time since I dont even know when. The big beautiful bill getting passed, all of that wrapped in to 1 bill. Delivers on a bunch of campaign promises. No tax on tips and overtime. Extending the child tax credit. He made cuts with DOGE like he said he would. He continues to work on dismantling the department of education as he said he would, and overhaul student loan repayment plans. And its only been 6 months. He has been nothing short of spectacular so far and has quickly held true to many of his promises.

In addition, the tax breaks on new vehicle purchases, and $1000 investment accounts for newborns are really nice programs that will benefit a lot of people.

Im pumped for what more is to come over the next 3.5 years.

Agree on your first paragraph about wars, especially when it comes to supporting Ukraine in their fight for democracy.

The Epstein saga is a self inflicted wound & he screwed that up on his own.

I definitely agree on the border. That should never have gotten so out of hand and Dems totally mishandled that, just like Europe is mishandling their immigration. The way ICE is rounding up people and shipping them off without due process is something else though.

The other stuff about the economy is still to be determined. I do think you are over glorifying the effects they might have. We will see, so let’s hold off judgement until results of the trade war etc. come into effect.

I am not one of the loons in here who will insult someone for using their vote differently than me. We all have our own experiences that shape the way we think, and how things rank in order of importance. It doesnt necessarily have to do with intelligence. Experiences shape our moral compass.

Whats right for me isnt necessarily right for everyone else. Thats why there is more than one candidate and everyone gets to choose who is best for them. There is no one size fits all president and there are no one size fits all policies. Someone is always benefitting, while others are losing and vice versa.

If this issue hits closer to home for you because you have daughters, perfectly understandable why all of a sudden, the morality of a presidential pick skyrockets to the top when it deals with crimes against women. Pro life vs pro choice, unimportant to me. I have an opinion on it, but it does not sway my vote. It doesnt affect me. It affects many others and may well swing their vote another way, understandably.

Some wanted the 6ers to go after Miles Bridges at the trade deadline last year and others did not. Some will be ok with a wife or child beater on their football team, and others will not. That does not mean those people support those crimes, or defend the player's actions. Ditto dog killers, and drunk driving manslaughterers. Same principles apply here. Im not going to defend trump. I didnt weigh his character highly in my decision because I think thats fruitles. We are never going to get to elect a saint. But I understand using your own vote in your own best interests, while for me, it was just more important to choose the better president. I respect your choice to vote the other way for your own reasons.

I dont have a daughter. But I have a sister, a mother, I have two sons who may one day give me daughter in laws, and grand daughters. Millions and millions of women still felt Trump was the better choice, for whatever their own reasons. And yet, there may come a time where the women's issues weigh more heavily on my mind at the battle box.

The Vick thing was a bit different. He served his debt to society and was openly remorseful. Trump is unapologetically horrible.

Vick is no different. There are just individual personal differences on what weighs more heavily for each person and why. Youve accepted him (as I think most did) while others did not. Its easier to do when hes playing on your team. Its easier to still hate a player when hes playing for someone else. I am sure, for many people, that is the only determining factor for rationalizing Vicks background and accepting him as our QB.

Its also easier to say, this team has other options and I dont need to support this player. In the NFL you can find great guys like Hurts or Josh Allen, the Mannings, the list goes on and on. VS, in politics you have 2 choices between corrupt politicians so you have to decide how much you can even let character factor in when you dont have any good options. In that case, for me, policies are more important. Harris sucked so bad she lost to an alleged pedo.

I'd have more respect for him. I wouldn't vote for him because his policies suck. But I don't hate him because his policies suck. I hate him because he is one of the most despicable human beings I've ever seen in American leadership. Just a loathsome individual with no redeeming qualities. I can't imagine for example, anyone, even a hard core Trump supporter being comfortable with their underage daughter being left alone with him.
