He is the best

Howie screwed up with that move... but he got out of it better than most of us thought was possible.

What’s up, guys? I’ve been quiet on here lately. The truth is, I’ve been going through a rough stretch with my mental health. I wasn’t sure whether to say anything, but with June being Men’s Mental He

It would be funny if Bryce Huffs ring button doesn’t do anything

I didn't think Howie could get someone to eat enough of his 2025 compensation to make it worthwhile. Very happy to be wrong.

Nice call.

Howie exceeded my expectations with it to be fair. I figured a trade like this would have a pick swap that was not in our favor.

But, in my mind, there was absolutely no way the Eagles were going to be publicly squabbling over a few million dollars with Goedert just to turn around and hand Huff $16M with just the hopes of "maybe he can better.”

I thought SF was the obvious choice.

I mean this in the most kindest of ways to Bryce huff

I never liked the Huff signing. There was way too much projection in doing that move. It’s also partly Reddicks fault for forcing the signing too.

Schefter says day 3 pick, so I'm guessing a 5th if it's "mid round" because a 6th is late round.

When I heard "mid round”, I figured that was BS. Because no team is gonna give up a fourth for him.

But yeah, a fifth I could see, although I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a lame fifth for a sixth type deal.

Yeah, I thought back during the season there's just no way they'd bring back a disgruntled player who would be going into a second straight season riding the bench. Just would not have been good for the locker room or any aspect of the team. It was time to move on.

Now they have an opening at Edge and June 1st have another open roster spot. Could still add another Edge. Za'Darius still out there! Maybe Trey or Oweh from the Ravens.

My very first reaction was Roy Hinson. A guy with a relatively low pedigree who had a decent year and suddenly we’re thinking he’s a star? It just felt "odd” to me.

I wasn’t a huge fan of it either. It’s awesome that’s even though it was a bust of a signing guys stepped up so it didn’t matter that he was a bust of a signing. I remember Berman was all over it happening and loved him.

There were some good Edges available last offseason too. Could've had Hunter or Greenard. I think a large part of the Eagles wanting Huff was his age. An over correction not wanting to sign anyone in 2024 over the age of 27. Generally that's ideal, but it's ok to now and again. Hunter would have been a great add. Little more expensive than Huff obviously. But actually produces.

I didn't want Huff. I wanted to keep Reddick. So happy Huff is finally gone

Glad Howie pulled something off, trying to make the best of a difficult situation. Thankfully, other moves he made were very good so the Huff thing didn't hurt much, but glad to move on. Sometimes you gamble with an acquisition, see potential and it doesn't always work out. That's fine when other moves are solid.

Moving on.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a 2027 5th rounder - we don’t need any more 2026 picks.

He'll trade the 2026 5th for a 2027 4th.

I am Happy that both are gone

I'd have taken a moldy ham sandwich... so anything we get is gravy in my book.

Would have likely been different if we just paid Reddick

He won't sit out the full season. This is all part of the negotiation process.

It is one of many scenarios in the hopper at this time. Teasing out each scenario is due diligence at work.

I jumped in to find out why you are so invested in this. It's the longest of long shots for the Eagles. It would cost too much in a trade... and cost too much on the cap. So, I jumped in to try to move the discussion to more realistic possibilities. Why not discuss the chances that the Bengals will throw Burrow into the deal along with Hendrickson. The odds are pretty close for both of them.

So you want to shut down the discussion?

What do you think it would cost in a trade?

Okay, so what do you want to discuss instead? I’m all ears.

Nope. I want to bow out of the discussion. I find it fruitless.

5th that becomes a 4th if he hits specified targets? Maybe, I hope

This one is NSFW for sure but definitely worth it lol

Much easier roster construction without Huff. It clearly wasn't going to work out here. A shame.
