JJ's defenses also had to contend with 3 turnovers in most of those games. Teams rarely win playoff games when they turn the ball over 3 times.

The only NFCCG loss that I'm OK with, if you even want to say that is their first one against the Rams. The Eagles were the young team on the rise and faced a tough challenge against the Greatest Show on Turf, in their dome.

They blew it against the Buccaneers.

They were down Westbrook, but the Panthers didn't belong on the same field with the Eagles. Jake Delhome????

The Cardinals game I put on the defense, but they should have one that too.

They made their big post June 1 signing

Now normalize for income. The average person making tens to hundreds of millions of dollars over their lifetime should live longer than the average schmo.

Except when the sport is getting punched in the head over and over again I guess.

The average NFL player doesn't make tens to hundreds of millions of dollars over their lifetime. Its hard to quantify how all this works, because the average NFL career is just over 3 years. The median base salary is $860,000 right now.... but 30 years ago, the career length was roughly the same, but the median salary was WAY lower. I can't find the median for 1995, but the mean was $760,000. Meanwhile the rookie minimum ($119,00) and veteran minimum ($178,000) indicate that the median was likely much lower than the mean value. So, the bottom of the roster guys playing fewer years would be making only about $500,000-$600,000 in their NFL career (pre-tax). Of course, only playing a few years in the NFL lowers the impact on their bodies overall, but they still have the impacts from both high school and college, so maybe about half of the guys that play for a decade in the NFL.

Choked at the end of the Rams NFC Championship Game. Choked in the Bucs and Panthers NFC Championship Game. Choked the entire Super Bowl. Choked the first half of the Cardinals NFC Championship Game and was not that good on the final drive either.

His two best playoff performances were the Packers 4th and 26 game and then also the Vikings game in the Super Bowl year.

That stinks for them. That is a big loss.

Keep in mind they lost Kevin Zeitler their RG to free agency

Our Oline is now undisputed

I put the Cardinals game on the whole team. The offense crapped the bed in the first half... got the head out of their rear ends for the 2nd half... but had the ball late with plenty of time to tie (or take the lead with a TD and 2 PT). But, they came up small. The whole team did, really. Then again, they really had no business even being in that game based on how that season played out. They just weren't that good.

That's highly unexpected. I wonder what the story behind this is. He's only 29.

There's no question that Hurts has consistently stepped up in big moments. It is somewhat of disservice to McNabb to say he choked all of the time. He had dynamic games in critical moments. He came up short in 2 big games where the team was favored to win. They should have won the Super Bowl with him but he threw key ints and threw up a chance to lead a comeback drive. To a lesser extent, he choked in the NFC Championship game against the Bucs. Arguably, more of that loss goes on Jim Johnson and Reid.

You’re forgetting the 2003 NFCCG. Mcnabb threw 3 ugly interceptions and did absolutely nothing else; ended up losing 14-3 after Detmer came in for injury late in the game. Easily the worst game of his career. 2009 wild card game against Dallas was also horrible. The deep TD to Maclin was when Vick subbed in for 1 play; Mcnabb’s “+/-“ was worse than the final score 34-14 indicated

This was a recurring thing with him

For sure, 2.9% int percentage in the playoffs isn’t exactly stellar…but my point is that overall it’s a team game. A lot of the issues residing in coaching too. The D couldn’t stop Faulk, Joe f’n Jurevicius, Fitz…O couldn’t get out of their own way for the entire Carolina game…1st half of the Cards game.

No doubt. Teams win, teams lose.

From top to bottom, the Eagles choked in 3 out of 4 NFFCG.

He’s had a ton of injuries and his body is broken down. Doesn’t help he always played with injuries too. He supposedly had turf toe so bad that surgery isn’t going to help and he’ll have to live with it the rest of his life. Probably hurts just to walk for him.

Ouch. Since the signing was after noon, I think he should have until EOD tomorrow.

The Madden curse for this season is nothing to worry about. It's dead.

Yeah, there's a possibility Barkley gets hurt due to overuse carried over from this past season and just overall general wear and tear that comes with a career of playing his position in a violent sport. But if he does get hurt, it will have nothing to do with being on the cover of a video game. Seeing full grown adults actually believing in this type of stuff is kinda hilarious.
