It would be funny if Bryce Huffs ring button doesn’t do anything

Huff at 70% is probably just as unrealistic as making all-pro

Yup. He's going back to his Jets role... extremely limited snaps.

He could easily be the starter opposite Bosa, but 70% is a very high hurdle.

Nah, he's going to be a pass rush specialist again. He'll be lucky to hit 40%.

Edge seems likely too.

Logically yes, but the Niners are very thin at the Edge position. So the Mercury News is saying, "The San Francisco 49ers' primary edge rushers are Nick Bosa and Bryce Huff. Their base front will likely see Bosa and Huff as edge setters, with Mykel Williams and Yetur Gross-Matos on the interior.” After Bosa and Huff they have a bunch of scrubs in Sam Okuayinonu, Robert Beal, Jonathan Garvin, and our old friend Tarrton Jackson. So Huff will get snaps by default.

From Geoff Mosher on Philly.com

Can the Eagles evolve offensively without reinventing the wheel?

One theme coming out of May's media availability was the direction of the offense under first-time OC Kevin Patullo. Several players, including A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts, talked about the need to evolve – and by that, you know they meant the passing game. Patullo, who was the pass-game coordinator and associate head coach before his promotion, said he would look to build on what the offense and players do best.

There’s no question the Eagles have to avoid the mistake of 2023, when the offense stalled and helped contribute to a 1-6 implosion after being explosive – sometimes unstoppable – in 2022 en route to a Super Bowl appearance. After the collapse, head coach Nick Sirianni admitted that the offense had become stale, so he fired previous OC Brian Johnson and hired Moore for fresher concepts

This year, the Eagles will probably need to expand and add concepts, but at the same time, they can’t lose sight of the fact that they functioned best when the ball went to Saquon Barkley, this year's "Madden NFL 26" cover star. After signing Barkley in free agency, the Eagles finished with the NFL’s second-best run offense and fourth-worst pass offense, in terms of yards per game. That gap probably needs to narrow in 2025 but not at the expense of Barkley's impact, which is Patullo’s responsibility now.

70 percent of the snaps and 10 sacks. Like whatever Reddick’s was.

That was the difference between a 2 and a 3. Here, we're talking about a likely compensatory 4 or a 5. The bar wouldn't be very high ---- probably something like make the team.

Huff as an edge setter. Lulz. The major reason he's not here is because he can't set an edge.

Frankly, I couldn't care less what the Mercury News says. This is an appeal to authority fallacy. And they prove that they really don't know what they are talking about. That's just a local beat writer's conjecture and the argument breaks down.

I watched Huff here and he was completely useless as an edge setter. So, if that's the plan, Saleh will scrap it very very quickly. Saleh knows what Huff is, and based on what happened here, and what he wasn't asked to do in NY, he knows what he isn't. He's not going to stick a square peg into the round hole, exactly the same as Vic. Vic saw it, and went away from it as soon as he had any type of practical alternative, to the point that when BG returned for the Super Bowl, Huff was completely superfluous.

I don't get where they see Yetur Gross-Matos as an interior guy. He's 265 lbs and has played on the edge pretty much his entire football career (including college). His only use on the inside would be in pass rushing sets. In terms of edge setting, he's a much better option than Huff in that skill set. This snippet from the article just helps me to understand why 49ers fans have no idea what they are talking about.

That shows you how weak the 49ers are at Edge.

I don’t think you can play 4 DEs in base and/or have Huff on the field without getting bullied in the run game. Bosa across from either Gross-Matos/Mykel Williams with 2 DTs, yes. In known passing situations, either one of those guys can kick in to allow Huff some snaps on the outside in his DPR role.

Yeah, I don't think that writer has any clue what he's talking about.

A dude I'm wondering about is Jalen McMillan. Any chance the Bucs make him available and if so what would be the cost?

They have Evans, just extended Godwin, and just drafted Egbuka in 1st round

I think a WR move comes next off season. The only move on offense I see as a possibility before TC would be for RG. On defense, DE, CB, S are all possible

AI did an artificial analysis and really left out Mahomes. Even if you penalize him for waiting a year behind Alex Smith, the next three years vaults him to the top of that generated list.

I was just going to say, how the hell are they gonna say Justin Herbert but ignore a guy who had 3 all-pro years, an MVP and went to two SB’s and won one despite not even playing at all his first year.

He set the bar so ridiculously high you might not ever see a better one.

The AI probably ignored Mahomes because the first year he only played 1 game

They are on the hook for $8M that’s guaranteed. 49ers would be stupid if that was the condition.

What's Williams doing? Did he just get sacked or something?

(7) Will APR help Howie find a good trade for Bryce Huff to a team that needs a designated pass rusher? Will @HazletonEagle scout all the 31 NFL teams to determine which ones are the best candidates for the DPR Needy designation?

Derp derp derp 49ers. Howie smoked 'em again.

TO would not tolerate Hurts holding onto the ball until he is wide open.
