Have you seen some of the highlights? Some games it looks like they’re trying to injure her.

I said I get why they're expanding. I didn't say I could make it through a game 😂

It's the absolute weirdest thing. They despise her.

It's an issue that's been building for the almost 30 years this league has existed. People forget that there were initially 2 women's' pro leagues that started at the same time -- the WNBA, owned and backed by the NBA, and the ABL, an independent league. While the ABL played in arenas they could actually fill, the WNBA players were put in NBA stadiums. The ABL actually was trying to build an audience while also being profitable, but they couldn't compete with an organization that could lose money hand over fist because it was funded by the NBA. And that's where the ridiculous sense of entitlement started -- WNBA players weren't interested in grinding and building a league, they wanted to be superstars and big time right away.

It's why now you have morons scream that female players should get paid as much as the men (be it in basketball, soccer, etc.) despite the fact they generate a tiny fraction of the revenue and lose money still. We've created this sense of entitlement among the players that they should be treated like superstar athletes despite being unprofitable, and we've spent 30 years coddling this illusion. So they're all now upset that only one person (a white, heterosexual) is making real money because they've never been exposed to market forces -- they think they should all get Caitlin Clark money because otherwise it's unfair.

Basically, we did this by coddling their delusions for 3 decades.

How they could miss such occasion and celebration!? They can afford a private jet flight to make the trip.

They could, it just sucks to be in that position. Especially a guy like Maddox whose probably on his last shot and by no means a lock to make the team.

I know what mushrooms are, and I don't eat them. They taste nasty and smell worse.

Good. That leaves more for me. With onion, butter and garlic.

I never cook mushrooms without shallots. Sauté them in a little EVO until they brown AND give up their water, add sliced shallots and stir, then after two minutes add wine, salt, and pepper. When the wine has evaporated they’re ready. The wine varies with what protein your serving.

A bit of dark soy sauce is good for red meat dishes too.

What a creepy response

You think they’re trying to gouge her eyes and full body tackling her to show her respect? 😂

Of course not. Going from calling out petty athletes to "women are jealous creatures" is some incel behavior 🤷

To be fair it’s not everyone going after her but there have been a few that have acted pretty psychotic. It’s more than just pettiness there.

Their revenue has doubled over the past 5 years. They're trying to capitalize on that and expand the market. I'm not gonna watch but I get it from a business POV 🤷

Eh, it’s still not profitable. Huge difference between revenue & profit. Ironically despite the extra revenue last year, it’s my understanding they had the largest profit lost in the history of the league. They’re banking on the TV deals and upcoming sponsorships…they have that period those are active to figure out how to drive attendance up & generate a bigger fan base. If they don’t figure that out, sponsors will not come again.

Very true. Soy sauce is a magical ingredient, good in marinades, salad dressings, gravies, soups, bechamel, sushi and sashimi of course, and surprise! Scrambled eggs. I make a quick bbq sauce of brown sugar, soy sauce, and sambal. Sweet, salty, and hot.

There are quite a number of good cooks in the blog and even more with educated palates, and a few who raise their own veggies, mints, peppers, and herbs. We live in a fifth floor apartment with a balcony and have our little herb garden: parsley, mint, rosemary, basil, thyme, and tarragon. The blog’s best farmer seems to be @BigEFly who probably keeps his own civets for the world’s most expensive coffee.

Really? I don't see how their revenue could increase that starkly with a drop in profit given the lack of major investments (expansion teams , stadiums etc). But I do agree them banking on continued expansion might be ill advised given they've estimated Clark was responsible for over 1/4 of the WNBA's revenue last year. If she goes down or they fail to find other stars this bump could be a blip on the radar.

I use soy sauce in so much, but I was referring to with mushrooms. Love the flavors combined.

I'm a mediocre gardener (although I always have lots of herbs) but I do love to cook. Redoing the whole kitchen currently and I'm finally going to get a good oven/stovetop. Can't wait.

I ate my first garden fresh Cherokee Purple tomato this evening. First time I've been able to have one before the month of July.

Despite the revenue boom last year, they turned an estimated 40-50m profit loss. Mainly from poor decisions & i think a little ‘gotta spend money to make money’. The execs caved and gave in on the private charters because someone ‘felt threatened once’. Theatrics seemed to be a splurge as well. THere’s going to be a good amount of money coming in from sponsors & TV deals soon, so in theory it’s a good time to expand & invest…but there’s Bronny Jr level talents littering rosters. IDK that the pool is deep enough to fill out expansion teams, maintain a competitive atmosphere & keep a watchable product. I’m not sure the trickle down to the juniors has fully came in yet that they’ll be able to profit by the end of all the money.

So they now have Ramsey, Porter Jr and Slay. Porter Jr is an outside CB. Slay isn't a nickel. Could slay be on the chopping block? Or Porter Jr be on the trade block?

If Slay gets cut I wonder if he makes his way back here.

Interesting trade considering they already have Joey Porter Jr and signed Slay.

The Steelers CB situation is very weird because I really don't view Porter or Slay as inside guys. Maybe they do. Or maybe they move one to safety after trading Minkah.

Ramsey hasnt been a good CB for a few years now. Considering their CB picture, youd have to assume he was transitioning to safety. Even before the news came out that Fitz was traded. The trade for Pittsburgh went from bad to worse.

I never make a wine sauce for boneless, skinless (tasteless) chicken breasts without ‘shrooms (drug addled days of my youth) as they hold the wine taste so well.

Minkah really hasn’t been good for the same amount of time. Honestly they’re both just names at this point.

She's the goose that lays golden eggs and they hate her.

Kepp in mind, these tickets are against the infamous Angel Reese who said people come to see her play as well.

Following Caitlin Clark's injury, ticket prices for Indiana Fever games, particularly on the resale market, have experienced a significant drop. This is due to the star guard's absence causing a decline in fan demand. Resale prices for some games have decreased by as much as 70%. For example, tickets for a Fever game against the Chicago Sky dropped from $393 to $12 on the resale market, according to PFSN
