Just the Beat reporters desperately looking for fodder to publish in the dead period before training camp. Real worried now about the upcoming article about @HazletonEagle ’s nudes.

I thought maybe some big news broke and I missed it. July 8th had more visits than the past two Super Bowls (individually, not combined).

It more about chemistry/fit than the school

Being buddies with Carter and the other former Georgia players should have no place in the decision IMO

Probably my Best Players In NFL History by Jersey Number series

With so many picks, so few needs, and such a young team, I’m certain Howie will be bundling picks to move up both for the next draft and for those following. We’re in an amazing situation.

We have few needs now... but we have a lot of future needs lurking in the shadows. RT need is imminent. LT need is approaching shortly after that. TE is an imminent needs. WR depth is approaching shortly, because I don't see AJ Brown's career maintaining his current level as he passes over the 30 plateau... which is 2 years away. Defensively, EDGE depth continues to be a concern, and even with Uche and Ojulari here this year, they are not a long term answer as both are on one year deals.

So, I don't see them packaging too much except if they can target specific players for these positions. Howie will be Howie and active on the trade front, as he always is, but I think we undersell how many needs this team has starting in '26 and '27, but definitely for '28. The big price tags of all these big name players come due in '29, IIRC, and so they will need some players, big impact players on rookie deals when this takes place.

Lurie is cash strapped, he's got his staff scouring the internet for suggestions. Like the beat reporters, they came here for ideas.

I'm just saying no one has ever seen RTK and ESP in the same place before

I think you're right. Howie wants the picks because, in part, having more shots at players generally helps eliminate needs. The way they have approached OL is a good example. Lane may play until he is 40 based on some of his comments. OL, however, is always a priority position because they know good players will need to be replaced. They will always scout and see the value in taking a prospect even if there isn't a specific need. Moreover, the odds of getting a consensus above average starter at OT in the late first round are very low. Those players tend to go top 10. I think their strategy is, and has been, to pick potential prospects every draft and to sign players like Becton in FA. My guess is that they hope that Hinton or Williams develop but they will continue to target players. I can see them trading up for a player that they see falling at OL but I don't think they will trade up into the top 10.

Hey buddy. Just wanted to make sure this bad boy was in your queue

Lighter? Guess 176 lbs was overweight.

This play must be number 26, go deep.

Sorry for the baseball reference but humor in truth:

Holy upgrade. How hard would it be for them to make a burgandy version and scrap the trash they call uniforms.

By my count we have 13 draft picks next year and all our picks for 2027 and 2028. With such a young team I expect us to bundle picks to move up for specific players, what you term big impact players on rookie deals. We're certainly not going to draft 13 guys next year; I expect 6-8. The rest of the picks will be used to move up or to get better draft positions in 2027 and 2028. Mailata is just 28; he'll be around for more than a few years. I like Hinton of our current batch of rookies. I think he'll be a nice piece in a year or two. Definitely TE will be a target and, yes, edge players. Two years away is an eternity in the NFL and we have 27 draft picks to meet our needs. That's a lot.

He's taking the Todd Pinkston approach to WR.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Howie with more than a dozen picks going into the Draft every year going forward. Great ammunition to have.

All that ammunition means he will come out of the Draft with the BPA players he wants. Trading up and back will continue to be the basic approach to get the targeted players where they are falling.

I would be shocked if we don't see a late training camp/mid-preseason trade as well as an in season trade near the deadline. Lot of draft picks and Roseman loves making those deals.
