We gave up similar value for Jahan freaking Dotson. It’s not a bad move for Dallas.

We got two years of Dotson at a controlled salary, not just one year.

What’s up, guys? I’ve been quiet on here lately. The truth is, I’ve been going through a rough stretch with my mental health. I wasn’t sure whether to say anything, but with June being Men’s Mental He

We won the Super Bowl with Dotson and he didn't cry that he needed the ball more and splinter the team when we were 2-2 when the team hadn't hit its stride.

Dotson to the Steelers for Darnell Washington and a 4th.

I would do that.

I expect all of you with young children and grandchildren will be purchasing BG’s ABCs for them.

Grand children too!

Pickens in Dallas seems like a perfect fit for a few years. If they can get a run game going and the OL picks develop, they’ll be pretty damn annoying to play.

So Philly traded the Steelers a 3rd for Pickett but got a 5th back, roughly equating to a 4th rounder in value. We then trade him to the Browns for a 5th and DTR. Did we come out pretty close to even in those swaps? Not even factoring in that we got a game and a half out of him

No. The 5th was used to move up one spot for Campbell and DTR is probably going to get cut.

That would be fun, certainly a move that fits the identity of this team.

Goedert staying is huge.

I've read that study. I have a pdf copy on my hard drive of it. If memory serves me, it was heavily rooted in the amount of $$$ that you had to sink into the top picks, therefore handcuffing the lousy teams by prohibiting them to spend money on other talent. So if that player busts out, it REALLY hurts. The rookie pay scale has remedied a lot of that.

There’s more smoke about Justin Simmons wanting to be in Philly but I just don’t see how it happens at this point. Would they really want to put a roadblock in front of Mukuba and push Sidney Brown to 4th/possibly off the team?

From Clarence Hill Jr., a longtime Cowboys beat reporter…

Per source on the need for a possible contract extension following the trade, new Cowboys WR George Pickens isn’t "looking to do one. Wants to show he’s a top guy this year.”

Goedert on a restructure always made the most sense.

Time to go back to back.

Take that DG haters😁, I expect that this is just a void year add-on to spread out costs (as we're are unlikely able to afford the extension that he imagines) but we will see...

I doubt it happens, but I don't think it would be a roadblock. I don't think he'd be guaranteed to start. He'd just come in and compete and probably end up being depth. If he'd be ok with that. And he may not be, but he may not have a choice. Not sure there's a ton of options for him.

Yes now you've upgraded the TE position because I believe Bryant is better than Calc rather than downgraded it. Can now look at other spots to make a trade for. DE or CB

I'd be fine signing Justin Simmons to compete with Mukuba IF we can trade Sydney Brown. Sydney might start in Cinci given their S room.

You do if you think it helps the team in the immediate season. A 3rd round pick for a 1-year rental. We've done it for a half season rental. Understanding that the player is likely to get a sizable raise the following season which could bring a similar return in the comp formula.

You don't do things just because of comp picks, but dallas is a team that lately doesn't spend high in free agency and productive WRs are getting huge FA deals. They would most likely get a 3 or a 4 back in return if he leaves.

This is a solid point. They only have two FA's next year (Jake Ferguson and John Stephens) so the comp pick formula would likely be in their favor in that scenario.

@vikas83 need to see what the reworked deal is but basically we kind of said this was more likely than a trade, keeping him at his current number or just releasing him after June 1

Looks like Barchard was just a day early…

I'd much rather have Za'Darius Smith than Simmons btw. If Howie had to choose one. I think he has more left in the tank and would help more.

Is Goedert under contract in 2026?
