Thank you for the response. As understandable as it is, my own opinion is that the NFL is a "what have you done for me lately” endeavor. What Jackson did in New York is irrelevant. What is relevant is what he is doing here. What Ricks has done prior to last season is also irrelevant because it is BF.

The one area where Ricks falls short is in straight line speed. When opposing WRs have succeeded against Ricks it has often been because of that vulnerability. Jackson does not have that straight line speed vulnerability.

It's not really irrelevant. He is a corner turning 30 in a few weeks and very few corners are good into their 30s, especially when they are already bad by their late 20s.

Wouls you accept a 2nd round pick for AJ Dillon?

I thought they have one already in Miles Sanders?

Looks like Berman may be returning to The Athletic

Having a hard time seeing a first round WR who I'd take the I'm over confidently on this one.

Not sure how much Hunter will play WR. McMillan is on a bad team although he should at least be the centerpiece of that offense. Love the fit for Egbuke but he's clearly a second to Evans and Godwin (if he recovers from injury well). And Golden is on a team with 500 good-not-great WRs.

I was explaining this to someone the other weekend when they were excited about their teams rookie WR performance this year. I wish more fans would realise this point

I said 5-0 before and I say it again now. KC may want revenge, but denying them that revenge is a statement on two levels (1) that we are the better team now, and (2) that the last game was not an anomaly.

Time to put the Tampa Bay history to bed. Again a statement.

That seems unlikely. This team doesn't really come out super fast with Sirianni.

In all seriousness, it looks like Jalen bought 3 properties there and is knocking them down to build a new…. Castle? All the homes there are already big.

I feel like Ive heard a rumor of an athlete doing that. Maybe it was Hurtz. I actually thought it might have been Kelce.

It just feels so antithetical to Hurts' public persona to build himself something so ridiculously massive.

Hurts is the type of guy to build a 4,000 suite luxury resort and let the poors live there for free. I imagine him buying himself a tiny house off of amazon to stick somewhere on the property hidden by large shade trees out of public view.

On the other hand, as the face of Jordan Brand, I can also see him building a house with a giant inground pool featuring this silhouette logo

EJ is a wannabe Bo/Sheil without Bo’s creativity or Sheil’s analysis. He’s just a worse version of all of it. So so blah and lazy.

Glad Zach is back where he wants to be and will still cover the Eagles.

While I'm curious to see these guys, watching pre-season football is an exercise in self-flagellation. If I'm resolute I may make it to half-time.

I’m going. I just hope I don’t get murdered after the game while walking from the subway to the train. It used to be a safe underground connection but they now force everyone to go up to the street to walk a couple of blocks. I hate making that connection at night, even more so when there aren’t other fans around which is likely to be the case tonight since it’s the preseason.

Very, very far away from Bo Wulf, I hope.

What is it about Fangio's scheme that makes him value position versatility so much? It seems as if he's placed a huge emphasis on LBs who can rush/drop in coverage (Baun, Campbell and even Hunt/Smith to a lesser degree) as well as DBs who can roam a bit (DeJean, McWilliams and Bennett).

Is it all about disguising coverages/blitzes? Or is there more to it than that?

Sometimes it's as simple as can be. If you watch the Super Bowl again and look at all the coverages, they're a total of one. Quarters. Slot corner. Two down linemen, stand-up edges who set really wide. Two ILBs. A couple of zone blitzes here and there and a stunt or two but basically simple stuff. You can't block us, our DBs are too fast for your receivers, and you can't run well enough to worry us.

This was one of the few zone blitzes. Sweat #19, drops out and Baun #53 rushes.

We know Barkley will be. There's no way he's not. He's very likely #1

Hurts won SB MVP so he's in there

Brown didn't have his best season but he did get 2 votes for AP

Lane is very likely in. He was in the last 2 years and averaged the same amount of games

I don't see how Baun isn't considering his AP

Voting is in November, so SB MVP isn’t considered

I forgot about that. He did well in weeks 1-8. Weeks 9-12 are in November and he didn't really have any "bad" games there

I like Bo. He's annoying but he cares about the game and provides thoughtful analysis.

Apparently likely going back to the athletic. Their eagle coverage has not been very good since he, Sheil and Bo left. I’m guessing they gave him a nice raise and I’d be surprised if he didn’t get more ability to do what he wants since they are really hurting. I also wouldn’t be surprised if they let him cover more than just the Eagles. Allow him to cover the eagles but also do something similar to Sheil where he also covers the nfl. Zberm works super hard and really tries to know everything going on besides just the eagles

Don’t worry, the news says murders are down significantly in Philly this year.

My brother in law is a lineman for PECO. Just sent me a picture and apparently they just cut power to Jalen Hurts’ home. This is terrible, Luries money troubles are so bad it’s impacting our players to the point they can’t pay their electric bill.

I went to cancel my Athletic subscription at renewal and for the second year in a row they lowered the cost about 70% when I went to cancel so I kept it, primarily for Nyguen’s columns as Kubena, or whatever the Baton Rouge guy’s name is, just rehashes what other Beats offer for free. I hope Berman is going back as Crossing Broad alluded to.

I only have the athletic again because during Black Friday they had $12 for 12 months. So I kept it because I figured it’s like a dollar a month so why not. But i feel like every Philly beat besides the phillies has suffered since i first got it when sheil and bo went there. Imo the Phillies coverage is actually pretty good cause Matt gelb does a really good job. But there’s Sixers and Flyers content is nearly nonexistent . They really could use Berman. Tbh i forgot who one of the beats is that went to crossing broad but they have yet to give him the money they owed and he made a big stink about it on twitter. Curious to see where Berman winds up. IMO he always gives good content and dedicated to his craft. I actually think he could do what Sheil does and cover eagles but also the entire league.

Mute your expectations. Since it's preseason and probably not a lot of fans rumor is Lurie only has enough money to keep the stadium open for 3 quarters. Sounds like it could be a short one.
