He'll get his shot. In the meantime, he can stay here and get more hardware for his jewelry collection. He seems like a great guy, and I sure hope that SOMEDAY he gets a shot. And he will... one way or another, a team will take a shot on him. The only question is whether or not that shot comes in 2026... because he's not leaving for 2025. They might flip him for picks in 2026, or he may walk as a free agent and we get a 3rd round compensatory pick for him... which would be a shame. But, if we keep him for the next two years and don't do anything with him but he comes in and wins the team games when called upon, its worth not flipping him for picks. We have two years in a row with this core poised to win a Super Bowl... let him bide his time here as our insurance policy. Aaron Rodgers sat for 3 full seasons before he ever got a shot and still managed to have a long long career. McKee isn't going to be hurt by this. What would hurt him would be shipping him off to a team like the Giants with nothing around him and he gets pummeled just like David Carr was in Houston.

Reasonable. Im not being reasonable about this. I just want to see him dominate. Id even be ok with him starting here this year. Im ready for the McKee era.

From blowout to almost another Bengals Tie, lol. But good game, obviously Defense could have played better but overall I thought it was a pretty good performance.

It's good that you recognize that. You are putting the cart before the horse a bit, and putting what's best for McKee ahead of what's best for this team right now.

Early Defense was chopped up by the Bengals' starters. Eagles D feasted when it was backups vs backups during the middle of the game. When it came time for our 4th stringers versus their 3rd stringers... the Bengals capitalized again.

I was pleased with this game. Our offensive backups held their own against the Bengals top D. Our defensive backups didn't do so well against their starters on O. BUT, the Bengals have a really good offense and a really bad defense. So, its not surprising that it turned out like that.

Still waiting for you to admit that those are the scouts high conviction picks. I posted the video that literally shows it happening. Where did you go?

I’m watching the game because I was out this evening.

Howie made it very clear precisely what qualities make a red star player. while all red star players will be an enthusiastic pick, not all enthusiastic picks will be red star players. Because, again, the specific qualities are based on intangibles. Jalen Carter was an enthusiastic pick, but I can almost guarantee you he was not a red star player due to his off field circumstances.

So, yeah, you can keep replying and try to pretend you’re right, but you’re not.

@ManuManu this quote pretty much shows passion player is synonymous with red star

"Sydney Brown was a passion player for a lot of people in this organization, he was a red-star guy. And I think just a tremendous person with obviously really good athletic tools, leadership ability, and for us, just excited to get him in the building.”

Howie Roseman gave his description of the term. In a nutshell, it is a literal red star next to a player’s name.

"We go around the room, and we give every scout a chance to stamp their red star on guys. Goes back, it’s a long tradition, not only here but a couple of other places that people have been, and when we’re looking at the draft board we have a red star on the guys, and Jeffrey (Lurie) a lot of times will go, ‘Hey, don’t forget, and we’re deciding between those two guys, that’s a red star guy.’ I think for us, it gives our scouts a chance to really put their name on guys, and that gives them a lot of pride.”

I know you’re sold on it being synonymous, but when they went around the room they asked for guys they felt strongly about heading into day 3. One guy said Smith. Immediately after that a guy brought up Johnny Wilson.

CB2 isn't currently on this roster, is it?

You told me red star players are not conviction players for scouts. You were flat out wrong and wont admit it. Alright then.

I think Howie will leave this game more concerned about Edge than CB, and that's if he's concerned about either. Which I doubt.

I sure hope he is. Both positions are currently an issue if this team wants to repeat.

yeah. probably both were. which is sad for those scouts.

Some interesting names still out there in FA for various reasons:

Rasul Douglas

Asante Samuel Jr

Emmanuel Moseley (perpetually hurt)

Stephon Gilmore

I'm convinced that Madden just went by the fact that he was the 3rd stringer last year, and ignored the fact that he might have actually been better than our actual #2.

The idea that they rated McCord higher than McKee is the part that's just asinine. Madden ratings are almost as meaningful as PFF ratings. Some of the rankings and ratings make sense... and a bunch of it just seems like throwing s--- against the wall.

Might be time to start making some calls. Adore Jackson is just ok and I don't think they ever really intended on him being the starter. Ringo looked rough tonight which is in line with the camp reports. If they aren't really high on Bennett there is another move to be made.

Edge rusher is a concern too.

Douglas is an interesting option for this style of defense.

I’m not as worried about backup edge. Starters are solid. You can move guys around on line

Starting outside CB is bigger issue. Hopefully Bennett can help

lol

What makes a red star player are traits. Traits that Howie listed. Among them are "great character” "captain” "testing numbers” "intelligence” "plays the way it should be played” and "practices the way it should be played.” These are all, with one exception, intangibles like I said.

Do you think Jalen Carter was a conviction pick? Do you think he was a red star player?

You won’t answer those questions because they succinctly prove my point.

With Smith being banged up AGAIN... the backup edge position becomes a bigger issue than if Smith were healthy.

BUT, CB2 is a serious concern. It has been a concern for me from Day 1, and nothing has changed. I just don't see it with Ringo.

It’s disappointing that Aziz hasn’t stepped up and that Uche didn’t do much tonight but I don’t think two weeks of camp is definitive. Nolan Smith looked bad last year going into the season. Younger player of course but it’s not over

Your point is not being argued. Your mistake is that you dont realize, and wont admit that those players are the ones that scouts bang the table for. I posted the video for you that shows Howie saying that, and then shows the scouts actually naming their players in front of the entire room.

You told me that is not the case and there is no room for opinion. Yet you are ignoring the cold hard evidence and giving your (incorrect) opinion as gospel.

Enjoy your blissful ignorance. You can leave me alone about it now.

Tbh i think Howie would go after him out of those guys. He knows him cause he drafted him. Plus interesting for this style. I tend to think he’s waiting til closer to the season to sign. Saw a report he turned down a dolphins offer a couple weeks back. If i were him I’d wait too just to see if someone gets hurt or a spot like eagles opens up where he can be the starter and compete for a title.

Despite what he did last year, Tanner McKee is currently the 82nd ranked qb in Madden

Probably cause of his RAS score

Very disappointing so far. Figured he was on a crappy Giants team and he's now past the injuries. Most reports were he seemed to lose some juice after the injuries, so far that's holding true. Again, very disappointing. Really thought he could've been a big steal.

I’m surprised Howie dipped back into the well of signing ex-Giants that were on bad teams. Ruben Randle, Steve Smith, now Jackson and Ojulari. It’s a miracle Barkley was a hit.

Not over, but a concern.
