I was hoping to see something more out of Cooper based on the reaction in here and his stat line. He doesn’t look fast, doesn’t seem to have much burst or wiggle. With an odd body type, maybe he would benefit from dropping like 10 pounds. Doesn’t need to be 210 at his height.

I didn’t watch the game but every CB gets cooked by Chase. He’s a future HOFer

Did the Bengals play their starting defense last night? If so, oof…

Think so but minus Trey obv

DAZN pulled a prime DAZN thing on that game. The first 20+ mins had no commentary on it whatsoever; sadly they restored it before the Spadaro interviews.

What's to tell after that game? Not a lot. Pre-season, a mix of starters and backups and bland/targeted scheme. Ringo definitely got his lunch money for all of high school stolen from him, but its just one game against the best WR in the league too. You can see why Hinton and Williams didn't get drafted higher. Some good stuff, but sheesh, a lot of tape watching needs to happen.

McKee looks like has something than a backup QB does. Kid has a knack for being a QB; DTR kind of doesn't.

The only excuse I can make for Ringo is that on one of those plays they had him playing man inside leverage with a blitz on. Given the WR involved the out was a gimme, but Kelee while stiff and not great locating the ball has generally been a reliable tackler so the follow up to the catch is a step backward. He’ll need to stick with zone or definitely have safety help to limit the WRs options allowing him to guess less.

I think DTR was alright for guy who isn’t getting a ton of reps. McCord didn’t look good, not sure he could with the Williams, Hinton and the Aussie in front of him.

Need to cut Adoree Jackson today. Dude is garbage. Ringo ain’t far behind

Not Bennett. Also, Ringo and Adoree proceeded to both get cooked by the Bengals 2nd team offense.

I'll wait to see how they do against #2 WRs. Chase and Burrow routinely smoke the best CBs on teams. Very few can can cover Chase.

I watched until part of the 3rd. Agreed. I don't want to kill anyone over failing to cover Chase. Bengals starting offense put up big numbers last season. This was good experience for the backups

It wasn’t just Chase, it was Charlie Jones beating Ringo and Jackson.

Ringo's missed tackle was inexcusable. But that was a 0 coverage. And the eagles dont do a whole lot of that. I think the CBs were not put in the same positions to succeed as they will in the regular season. The eagles play a lot of zone, and these zone CBs were getting cooked in man. Not surprising. The no game planning didnt help our CBs look good against an elite passing offense.

Im not panicking. BUT, I love they physicality you see from Bennett and I want to see him get his shot this week in camp, and start the next pre-season game.

While Ringo and Jackson did nothing to distinguish themselves it's worth noting that Fangio did nothing to help them. They were both in solo coverage against Chase or whoever, with no safety help, no inside help, and were playing off coverage. IOW, Fangio put each of them on an island with maximum stress. That makes perfect sense in the pre-season but you won't see it come September 4. These were coaching moments.

As far as the OL went, and I'll wait on the All-22 if they ever post it before going further, the one guy who really stood out to me was Kendall. Good snaps, a couple of good reach blocks, and some decent doubles. Toth has no chance of beating him out, no chance at all.

Edit: looks like @HazletonEagle and I agree on the CBs. Wonder of wonders!

The fair criticism of Ringo is getting beat at CB is part of the job against a lot of WRs, RBs and TEs. But did he do enough of the right things to minimise Chase's ability to do what he did?

And to be absolutely fair to Ringo. Probably not played against a non-Eagle WR that good in the NFL, and if he did, minimal snaps on a 1st team D. Waaay different to Chase on a mix of 1st team and 2nd teamers.

I think his jersey number just leads to the perception he has an odd body type. He is taller and bigger than Anias Smith.

He's just a rookie, it's one game, preseason, all that stuff aside.

Mondon was pretty underwhelming for all the hype he was getting this TC.

Eagles have had only 2 days in full pads. And Im not sure that means they actually tackled on both of those days. Mondon might be flying around as we know he can. But, during the game, he showed he needs the weight room.

He’s the poster child for people who want more live tackling in camp.

Rakestraw is now out for the season per the Lions

I liked that he won in multiple ways. This wasn’t a 4.3 WR burning a 4.6 CB with no S help on deep balls. He got separation early on short routes. Separated late on the TD. Made contested catches. Seems to have really good hands.

He definitely looks weird in the 41. My initial thought watching him is he looks like Jalen Reagor if Reagor could actually play WR.

I’ll be curious to see how Bo treats him now that he’s a full-timer. He gives Fran a lot of respect, treating him quite a bit differently than Zach. Now Zach brings some of that upon himself with how easily he gets flustered and embarrassed, but I felt the needling went too far and was disruptive to the flow of the show.

It reminds me that after the draft the Lions GM bragged about how hard of a grader he was on cornerbacks and how the Lions got the two best corners on their board in him and Arnold.

I hate to see Rakeshaw get injured, but it’s nice to see their GM get a little humble pie.
