What’s up, guys? I’ve been quiet on here lately. The truth is, I’ve been going through a rough stretch with my mental health. I wasn’t sure whether to say anything, but with June being Men’s Mental He

Bengals reportedly want a young D player plus picks for him too, so you probably are giving up Smith or someone similar.

They can want that. I think ultimately even if he is traded, they dont get that.

They apparently want a defensive player or two and picks for him. Don’t know what defensive players the Eagles could give up. They obviously are not giving up Hunt or Nolan. Not much else to trade from on defense unless they want one of our linebackers. On offense not much to trade either unless they want Shipley or Steen or something.

We have LB depth but the Bengals dont necessarily need that.

Id offer Uche or Ojulari, a 2nd, and a next year 3rd. Thats about as good as Id be willing to do.

And considering Hendrickson is already 30, I dont think theyll get better offers.

@hputenis and the bengals have something in common

They like their RB depth? Its old Ekeler, McNichols, and Chris Rodriguez. Not that good.

BIGLY!!!! I was a Metchie fan in the draft. He reminded me of avant. Not the greatest athlete but just gets open.

And blocks very well.

They also have a young guy that was being talked highly of this camp, guess they really like him then. Jacory Croskey-Merritt

Must not play fantasy. Some people have been hyping up 7th round pick Croskey-Merritt as a deep sleeper since camp started.

oh yes. I love that player. I didnt see him listed on the ESPN depth chart page. He should be RB1, or RB2 behind Ekeler if Ekeler is still playing well this year.

Don't think they want Ojulari or Uche otherwise they would have signed them. I think if the Eagles did trade for him, which I don't, it'll probably just end up being picks. Or who knows, maybe the Eagles shock everyone and trade Ringo or something, if they are disappointed in him and Fangio doesn't like him, which I would doubt.

I unfortunately do play fantasy. Im down to 1 league now, thankfully. I cant follow every move of the league like I used to. I have no idea how deep depth chart guys are looking in various teams camps. But I was big time hyping Croskey Merritt in here before the draft. Makes sense now, why theyd say they like their depth.

Could trade Sydney Brown too.

He’s not, just one kick return in his college and professional career.

Not only that, he doesn’t even play ST’s in general. Just an odd move to make this late in camp for a guy whose going to be WR5 and in a contract year.

And Eagles outbid for him. There has to be some other shoe to drop. Maybe Dotson is getting moved?

So he HAS done it.

Who?

Agreed - runs harder / behind his pads.

I don't think this Metchie trade is nothing. They had ZERO need to trade for a WR. They have one of if not the best 1-2 punches at WR. Dotson is a high level number 3. Wilson is a perfect number 4 with his size, contested catch ability, and role as a blocker. Smith probably earned a spot on the team with a good camp and showing he can be the PR. Then there is Darius Cooper. If you dig deeper into Metchie he showed some flashes over the final 7 games of the season when the Texans had injuries and he had an opportunity to play. I think this either means Brown could miss some time, or they are going to try to flip Dotson for a CB.

I think you are right. Hopefully, it's the latter. There are always a few people upset, but for the value Howie made a good trade. JD is gone next year either way so moving him wouldn't shock me. What would his value be though?

This is a low risk move - send a guy who was going to get cut for a former 2nd round WR who is close with Smitty. We had no real depth at WR, and if he is a RFA after this year, you can keep him in 2026 rather cheaply when Dotson walks.

I don’t think this has anything to do with AJ’s hammy. AJ, Smitty, Dotson, Metchie and Wilson are on the 53. Smith and Cooper battle if there is a WR6.

This trade is for 2026, IMO

Dotson didn't see the ball last season because he was acquired late in training camp. He spent time with Hurts this offseason to build a rapport. It is reasonable to expect more from him this season.

Metchie was just acquired late in training camp.

This trade didn't cost anything and if Brown's injury becomes an issue, having another SEC WR is a good move.

But by this line of reasoning, we shouldn't expect anything from Metchie this year... and he's also a free agent at the end of the year.
