Here is Tommy Lawlor’s assessment of the Safeties from the Browns game. Thoughts?

SAF – Mukuba got the headlines, but Sydney Brown had a good game as well. He just didn’t make the big plays. Brown was credited with 2 tackles, but sure seemed to be around the ball more than that. He came downhill aggressively. There was a coverage play where he and Trotter both took the same player and left another receiver wide open. I’m not sure who was at fault on that. Tristin McCollum was up and down. He flew downhill and then whiffed on a WR screen. He did make 5 tackles. He chased down the RB who got loose for a big play. There was a pass over the middle and McCollum was didn’t close to the ball quickly enough and gave up good RAC yards. Andre Sam was in on a couple of tackles. He didn’t catch my eye.

Given Gabriels recent comments about being a football player and not an entertainer, i can only imagine Sanders has been rubbing everybody the wrong way. I just don’t get that kid…the draft tumble should have been a humbling experience. He’s not his dad, he’s barely got the talent that his dad had in his left pinkie toe. Huge difference between confidence and arrogance. Talent can overcome arrogance for a while, but you have to be ultra talented.

I think it was more about Gabriel being butthurt over Sanders' performance the game prior. Also, Dillon isn't better than Sanders and he's probably really tired of hearing about it. I haven't seen anything from Sanders that portrays him as a poor teammate, or annoyingly cocky. if anything, he's been a model teammate thus far. Unlike Gabriel, who took a shot at a teammate due to being envious and resentful.

We need to keep Kinnard. He's the key to the repeat.

I don’t know how far in your cheek your tongue is, but the Preseason has made the post-Draft speculation about keeping Hinton and/or Williams on the 53-man roster has largely abated for me. Neither of them has shown enough positive to feel that any other team will place a waiver claim for either of them. Further, Keegan appears to be at best a Practice Squad player. So Lamm, Pryor, Kinnard, and Kendall seem like OL 6-9 and 9 will be all we keep unless there is room for one of the Rookies in slot 53.

Gabriel clarified that the comment wasn't about Sanders. He said he meant the entertainers are the media. I tend to believe him rather than the media members who took his comments as an attack on Sanders in order to get attention for themselves.

With that said

QB -3 DT-R cut

RB - 3 (6) Johnson and Powell to the Practice Squad

FB -1 (7)

WR -7 (14) A Smith is WR 7

TE -2 (16) Granson to the Practice Squad

OL -9 (25)

EDGE -4 (29)

DT -5 (34)

ILB -4 (38)

CB -6 (44)

Safety -5 (49)

Specialists -3 (52)

Going to be good.

Jackson says he almost quit football because of the heat at Lehigh. Jackson, "I almost DIED!!"

Then, Im not sure if McCoy is about to get in to an actual beef over who was the better player between them.

Quality route running

No Brown, Smith or Mailata today

But

Metchie is wearing #80

@DEagle7 does this change your perspective of the trade?

Tanner McKee not practicing either after hurting his hand yesterday

I've never looked at the reporters in post game as "entertainers." Dillon's response after the insult was simply to cover his @ss and not cause any more drama.
