Looking ahead to 2026...

Figure the Bucs, Ravens, and Lions are division winners. Currently not as daunting as this season. We get easier divisions and an extra home game.

Fourth straight seasons against the Rams. Hopefully we finally get a win against the Seahawks. We've lost eight in a row. Last win was in 2008.

Thanks for this. How is it that the home and away games are decided this far out? Said another way, why (1) Rams and Seahawks Home and Niners and Cards Away, and (2) Texans and Colts Home and Jaguars and Titans Away?

Two pretty big losses, especially Hunt. We've had our best drafts lately and losing these two isn't good. I really don't want Douglas back but would not be shocked if he did come back in some capacity, just not as high as we was previously.

The last time we played the NFCW in 2023, we were at LA and Seattle and home against SF and Arz. That, along with the AFC division opponents, rotates every three years for the NFC division and four years for the AFC division.

The Eagles and Washington have the same home/road alignment, whereas NYG/Dal are the opposite - they will be at LA and Seattle in 2026.

I don’t think fanbases fully appreciates how hard the schedule making process actually is. I definitely would not want that job. It’s money/ratings based…and not really how good the actual teams are (as far as the prime time games).

Thanks. Makes perfect sense.

It can be computer generated pretty easily by loading the formulas similar to how @Connecticut Eagle laid out. Load in parameters such as other venue events for the multipurpose stadiums, travel distance calculations, etc., and a first draft can be sent to the networks quickly.

What likely takes the longest time is the negotiations among the stakeholders who want to make changes to maximize their own profit. A rotation might be the underlying process for that as well, to ensure some semblance of balance.

No Ravens is awesome. Harbaugh is a tool who blitzes like crazy in preseason. I always hate playing the Ravens in otherwise meaningless games.

I'm pretty sure AI can take that job and streamline it.

The local blackout kind of makes sense when games don't sell out. I doubt that's the case with the Eagles the past 25 years or so. I don't understand why anyone would black out a game in the U.K. or even more than say 200 miles away from Philly.

I don't know either... but they seem to know how to make lots of money. There's a method to the madness.

Bert Bell used to make the schedule on his kitchen table.

I was at the 2015 preseason game where Suggs cheap shotted Bradford. We were behind the ravens bench and I thought my section was going to storm the field to kill him lol

All right, week one, first we have the super bowl champs playing....

Hot takes:

  1. The Eagles are more likely to win the SB next year than they are to get the #1 seed. And it’s not close. I see a repeat as a great chance and the 1 seed as nearly unattainable.

  2. Winning the division will be only marginally easier, if at all, than winning the SB.

Why? Brutal schedule and they need to adjust to a lot of new personnel on defense early on. But the cream rises to the top…I see a lot of teams that could and will steal a regular season game from them, but not many (or maybe 0) that I see with a good chance to take them down in a playoff environment, home or road.

The worst thing about Sky is the presenting, I hate Neil Reynolds and they managed to get someone even more clueless in Hannah Wilkes for when he's not in, it's god awful.

It's been 13 years and I still don't understand why they got rid of Nick Halling.

Neil Reynolds was ok earlier on, but he's not great anymore (but as its Sky, I can work out if its the human or the company style that is the issue). I had no idea what Hannah Wilkes name is because I never hang around long enough to find out. Both are why I don't watch Sky's live coverage at all, and record and catch-up if I have to.

If I recall, Nick Halling had a lot of other roles outside of the Sky NFL Coverage and got a permanent gig doing the Boxing on Sky vs being forced out. Although I do think he is part of the reason I can't stand the Steelers....

Jason Peters did a number on Suggs after that play. Beat him half to death. Suggs left the game after the next series.

Agreed. The most likely location for the NFCCG is San Fran. They have the easiest schedule in the league.

based on the success we have had, a 10 win season will probably feel like we suck. We have to remember to stay level headed going through it. Those games dont matter. Playoffs do.

This team will need to be like some NBA teams who just know how to turn it on to a whole new level in the post-season.

Not necessarily coast through regular season. But you dont want the team to be exhausted striving for a perfect record against such a brutal schedule. Save something for the end.

It'll likely be Sanders' 2nd last game in a Browns uniform before he's cut at the end of camp, so hopefully he enjoys it.

Further proof Cowboy fans are absolute idiots

Another problem with UK coverage as a whole, is it's constantly pitched at people who know nothing about the game, like there might be a huge audience of casuals tuning in to watch Texans - Browns at 9.30pm on a Sunday being confused by basic football concepts.

Reynolds is bad but some of the clowns they've had on other channels where you can tell it's one of the junior sports staffers who could recognize 3 NFL team jerseys without googling who's got the gig.

I find it odd how much the Steelers & to a slightly lesser extent, Ravens, history of dirty play & players is praised and glorified to such extremes.

I don't really mind the Eagles schedule and think its pretty favorable for a 1st place one. They get lots of extra days before away games, and that's something Sirianni and the team take advantage of. Sirianni consistently has the team prepared for games when the stakes are high and is looking at the long term.

This team still went 11-6 after the SB LVII loss, and they also had one of the worst defenses we've probably ever seen. We'll see how the offense turns out this year with Patullo, but with Hurts in his 6th year, they should have a good idea of what works. The Fangio defense will be even better with players in it another season, allowing them to go deeper into the playbook.

This is beyond absurd at this point. I used to feel guilty having Directv for an entire year just to pay more for Sunday Ticket. Thankfully, being back East i get the 17+ games that matter no matter what.
