BG will bring that Leadership on D. Yes it's clear he's at the end of his career but he wasn't playing that bad at all last year on limited snaps. I just hope we win the Bowl again so he can go out on Top a 2nd time.

He averaged 5 sacks per year over a 15 year span. He is what he is. A great personality, average player. BUT now he’s old

But won't have to go through training camp and 8 weeks of football.

Majority of the fan base is getting spoiled. Howie had some all time offseasons in 2022 and 2024 so that's now the standard.

It's the same thing as people talking about this O-line and all the injuries when there has been one game missed by one starter. Even with guys going out early in some games it's nothing compared to the Cowboys, Bucs, Vikings, Chargers or other teams.

Yep same thing with rookies. Mitchell and DeJean had once in a decade or more rookie production and now if Mukaba makes mistakes in his first 7 games he’s pounced on as not good

I think I'm sitting in a diner with Cliffy Two Socks from Philly Speical pod sitting behind me. Not sure if it is him or not but want to tell him how awful he is on that pod if so.

People think Howie had a "bad" offseason because of how many players left in free agency or were traded away. That happens on a SB winning team, there are players who want to get paid, they no longer care about team and winning. Howie and Lurie both publicly said they would need to let some guys go to prepare for the future.

We complained (rightfully so) for years about the bad drafting on defense. Now they've drafted absolute studs on defense and they have a great young core...and people complain about letting the 2nd tier players go in favor of signing studs in the future. The one player I thought he should have kept because he was cheap was Rodgers but whatever. They put some faith in the backups and rookies and trusted the coaching and the core star players would be enough.

In the draft he got a stud LB with a SB winning draft position, the first LB taken in the 1st round for like 50 years or whatever it was. Got a starting safety who has growing pains but also makes plays. He is the only player in the secondary with an INT and he has 2 so far, and yeah has missed tackles but he's the 2nd best safety on the team. The rest of the draft is depth and future development which you expect with a stacked roster that just won a Super Bowl. We may look back on it being a very solid draft that continued to solidify the roster. The great news is so far the picks don't look like busts. Adding a draft like that after a series of very strong drafts is what helps keep the winning going.

The team is still a top NFL team and will compete for a SB this year, and will remain competitive in the coming years.

So we are just above average in most of the analytics. It's a combination of outstanding play offset by periods of miserable play.

The offense needs to get the run game going to add some consistency. The explosive plays are great, but can't be relied upon every game.

The defense, IMO, needs a more consistent pass rush. It will help protect our CB2 issue and likely bump up our takeaways. BG is a start.

Like last season, the bye seems to be coming at the right time.

I dunno, I would lean into the pass, more empty with the RB out wide. Hurts is great at empty and we could still motion the RB in for runs or even try out some reverses to get them out on the edge

Interesting BG notes. He wanted to come back but they didn't want him to orginally. Then they wanted him to come back before Z. Smith and he didn't want to. Now they both want to

Exactly, he hasn't been brought back to improve the pass rush, he's just been brought back to take a few snaps in the rotation now Z. Smith retired and Nolan is still out. The idea that Howie thinks a 37 year old who hasn't played in 8 months is going to tip the scales on the sack numbers is hooey.

They can plug BG in for a few snaps a game, he knows the scheme and they know he's good with the locker room, that's it.

The pass rush will be helped when the secondary can maintain coverage, we got a few back there got a little high on their own farts and need to get back down to Earth.

The pass rush and CB2 are a chicken and egg question, is the lack of pass rush stymieing the coverage or the breakdown of coverage stymieing the pass rush? Or is it a little of column A and a little of column B.

BG and Nolan Smith will both playing for the Packers game. Nakobe Dean is already back. Carter is healthy. By the Packers game Quinyon should be 100%. Dickerson and Jurgens should hopefully be rested up. LFG.

We're over here complaining after a SB win and starting 5-2. Meanwhile:

using years vs games played is a tad misleading.

you're including his 1st three seasons where he played behind ja'qua parker and jason babin and tore his acl. he also missed 14 games in 2021.
