Yeah... I dont know.

I mean, the fact that the eagles wanted him to return kicks and wouldnt give him any offensive snaps may have been confusing at first. But still.... shortsighted view of things. It never made a lot of sense just to trade for him and make him a KR. That wasnt the primary focus of the move. They upgraded the backfield for next season, mainly.

And they should really use him more right now too.

Gosh, I'm so glad they took him. He's the one I wanted. No trading up. Not the trash Utah got.

The Van Sumeren injury really sucks because they could have had some nice under center installs with him in as a lead blocker and in the backfield. A lot of signs point to them wanting to have a significant part of the playbook operating under center and I think him getting hurt on literally the first freaking play of the season put a wet towel on that.
