Eagles are also 9-0 Vs the NFC North by the way.Interesting stat. I actually think the Eagles team has the same record as Jalen in the playoffs.

I'm not worried about the Bears and the Commanders weren't that close to us last year. The Bills on the road and Lions are far and away our toughest remaining games, and even the Bills are making surprisingly heavy weather of a powderpuff schedule that should have seen them walk the AFC 1 seed (ie avoiding road games against contenders which are their kryptonite). If the Eagles can't win their division comfortably from here it'll be them falling over their own feet rather than the opposition, I'm not as concerned about the 1 seed this year, last year was different because we had a ridiculously early regular season bye week and went into the post season off 13 straight weeks of games. If we’re gonna call the Packers not as good as record shows, I would argue the Lions are in that same boat. IMO the two best teams, they faced were Green Bay and Kansas City (I’d say Tampa but they had a crapload of injuries entering that game. Also think KC when they faced them is playing some of the best football in the league). Lost both and neither game was as close as th final score showed 27-13 an 30-17. Their wins are Cleveland, the ravens (banged up defensively and weren’t frankly good even prior to injuries), Chicago, Cincinnati and a Bucs team without Bucky Irving, Evans left early, egubka dealing with a hamstring and were down multiple other players on offense. They seemingly always beat up on bad teams and run up the score.4 toughest games outside of their division last year were rams, Bucs, bills and commanders. They went 1-3. went to overtime against a rams team with 2 starting OL healthy, entire secondary out and nacua leaving the game early, lost to the Bucs, lost to Buffalo and then lost commanders. The two best teams this year that were relatively healthy (parsons was on a snap count) they are a -27 point differential. (Tampa bay won yesterday but their offense looked poor again against a bad saints defense. It’s cause they are banged up on that side of the ball and had 1 offensive TD— without the defensive score it’s 16-3)Don’t get me wrong I think they are a good team. But i think they bully and put up ridiculous numbers against bad opponents and their divisional foes last year. then have their struggles with better opponents outside of their division and not look as scary particularly offensively against teams with a good pass rush.

Id be very happy to beat them in Lambeau in the NFCCG.That would be very nice though I can't help but notice that the Eagles have played all the playoff games at home in the 5 years they ended up in the Super Bowl.
14 hours ago14 hr I think the Eagles will target an impact player ON AN EXPIRING CONTRACT (so it doesn't impact the cap next year) and count on getting back BG (out of retirement), Nolan Smith, Ojulari, Bennett, Jurgens, AJ, along with hopefully getting everyone healthy after the bye for their run. And who knows...maybe the extend Blankenship and Davis during the bye. This team can beat any team in the NFL.....it's about health, and how they come together from here on out. Enjoy this time, I'm not going to re-post everything we have to be happy about but this last 8 years, and even going back to 2000 has been Golden Years for the Eagles. Have some gratitude, stop your whining and enjoy this. Because there will absolutely come a time where whining and moaning will be necessary! I just don't think that will be for another 4 or 5 years.

It was about time.I honestly didn’t think the OL had it in them, but Stout mixed it up this week and attacked the edges. The NYG back 7 consistently takes bad angles and can’t tackle, so outflanking that DL was a pretty pretty smart plan.I’m impressed with how they maximized Toth, he isn’t a road grader by any means inside but he did a really good job pulling and striking targets on the move. The under center stuff takes away most of my anxiety about bad snaps and I think shelving the silent count gave us an advantage. Not sure where these wrinkles were before, or if they were being saved until Jurgy was more mobile. Now that we have a blocking TE for IZ/OZ, maybe we can run some split zone with the little guys when they check in😁

14 hours ago14 hr Given the general lack of contribution from guys Howie has traded for in the past I'm not sure trading for a DE makes sense given the numbers now. Obviously if you could get a stud it would be great but that's not who is available and even a guy who on paper is better won't know the defense and probably won't be better on the field

Was that merely an adjustment because AJ was out, or will it be a major contributing factor moving forward? And how much will they throw out of those looks in the future to keep defenses honest?yeah, with that kind of output you’ve gotta keep it in the mix. it’s the pendulum swing theory of football - teams start slinging it, defenses get lighter, then offenses bulk up and punch ‘em in the mouth. if the eagles keep doing that, it’s an unfair rock fight. just like last year, good luck tackling that for four quarters.

Now, adding a serviceable JAG at any of those spots probably doesn't accomplish much. So I think the onus shifts from adding just anyone to fill a spot to whatever opportunity presents itself to add a really good player. Otherwise, I'm not sure it's worth it.
13 hours ago13 hr This is how I imagine this team. Only armored up to the teeth. Jalen is obviously the beak but with an armored point. Goedert the helm with a nasty ridge for headbutting the opponent. The talons belong to Smitty and AJ. Barkley is the tail but with a barbed armor that comes to a sharp point that strikes deep into the enemy. Baun and Dean are the shoulder plates. Carter and Davis are the chest plates. Coop and Quinyon are long thin blades down the long edge of the wing that can slice the opponent when it spins.

DE lacks a stud in that position, but BG coming back and Smith getting off IR, kind of indicates a trade at that position is less likely than elsewhere.

I'd be surprised if they spent high picks for a DE in a seller's market.TE....maybe for depthCB....lot of JAGs who aren't big upgrades and AS Jr is on the street. We'll see but I wouldn't be shocked if they did nothing and Tank and Metchie were the big acquisitions they talk about. If there is a trade it wouldn't shock me if it's for something we don't expect like those.I agree with your assessment on Edge, especially since Fangio would prefer to (A) stick with 5 DBs so he can use DeJean as a weapon, and (B) continue to use all 3 of his ILBs. That simply doesn't leave an abundance of room for D-Line snaps, especially given his usage of Carter (43 out of 45 total snaps yesterday and 67 out of 69 snaps against the Vikings).Fred Johnson appears to have assumed the inline blocking TE role. I don't see a lot of room for meaningful TE upgrade. That is my take on CB as well. 2026 Draft is where CB help will more than likely come from. I don't think it is beyond the realm of possibility that McWilliams may yet end up surprising us.

13 hours ago13 hr Top need has been CB2 all ywar and remains so. Its the one position we came in to the season weak at. And the one actual long term need. DL was/is still just injured, and you can probably count on continued progression from Smith, and Hunt especially. They are at least set with starters for the future. CB2 is not.Edge is the 2nd biggest need because DL, even Nolan Smith when he was playing have not gotten enough pressure, do not finish sacks when they get there, and have been light in the pants against the run. Getting Smith back does not solve the issues that were present while he was still on the field. Nor should we pass on a trade because of Brandon Graham, who will likely line up inside as much or more than outside.I wouldn't spend big on an edge but Chubb is perfect. Bigger body edge to help with the run, and also would be the most productive Sack guy on our line this year. Chubb is also likely cheaper to acquire than a starting CB.

Nolan and BG will help the rotation considerably especially against the run, but I don't think of either as real DPRs.CB2: not sure what's out there or if Vic would integrate a new corner anytime soon, but we have a book on Ringo and Adoree and it isn't good. Bennet seems like the best bet, but that's more of a hope than a strategy.TE: well, DG is very good but the next time he gets dinged what do we have at Y TE?OL: I just don't think anybody gives up OLmen as they are so connected to the rest of the offense. Not seeing the supply side here.
13 hours ago13 hr Make the best deal possible. Whether it’s an edge or CB. Don’t fixate on one position, that’s how you overpay. But I disagree with Kempski that edge may not be a need. I’m far from sold on this group after a few games.
