If you can be pummeled by the Giants, one can never be too confident. Still feels like Eagles need everything to go perfectly right to win this year. Injuries and different guys compromised state of health should be very concerning in a long season. Will most likely have to play on the road once and play 4 games this playoffs according to remaining schedules of our competitors. I love being all optimistic and such though.

There was a lot of doubt last year as well. They lost to the Falcons, barely squeaked by the Saints, lost to the Bucs big and it was doom and gloom, season is over, it's 2023 again. Adjustments were made, things got better. They had close games with low passing numbers against teams like the Jags, Panthers and Ravens and people doubted them. They had a close game against the Rams in the playoffs.

As I said, teams lose games they should win. Yesterday proved the loss to the Giants wasn't a true reflection of who they are.

Cowheard is still trash. "The Eagles looked better without Brown. Addition by subtraction"

Thought he could be a target for us if he wanted to kick DeJean outside

Not trying to be that guy, but I’m genuinely curious how the game would’ve turned out had AJ played. Dotson probably doesn’t have his Moss moment, but other than that, I wonder if anything else would’ve been different.

Not sure we see Smith run as many slants as he did, AJ is usually running those,

Carter's extension will not count against the 2026 cap, right? Can they add salary to year 4 or only to year 5 since it is the option year?

Don’t need to because signing bonus is paid immediately on extension but counted against the length of the contract.

Good to finally see Dickerson show out, hes been pretty bad all year, and sure he was hurt but I think hes turned the corner, if he can stay healthy-ish this run game could be back, toth played out of his mind as well, which was key as jurgens, again playing hurt had been awful all year.

This site doesn't include your games played against opponents when calculating SOS. https://www.playoffstatus.com/nfl/nfcsosag.html#sflx

Our full season SOS is the most difficult in the NFC. Our season-to-date is second and remaining games is fourth.

I dont think AJ being out was addition by subtraction, I think jurgens out and Toth a full week as the starter was addition by subtraction, jurgen had been really really bad, sure he was hurt but toth played better at center than any game jurgens has played this year

Averaging 10 yards a carry and 300+ rush yards had more to do with the O line and not much to do with AJ being absent

More underlying stats...

We are first in RZ offense, third in RZ defense, and second in fewest turnovers.

I know many like to mock the idea of the Eagles looking better without AJ, but let's be real.

THIS version of AJ (a moping sheet head with bad hamstrings that doesn't give full effort) is not exactly prime T.O.

Now, if AJ is healthy, using his influence to positively impact the locker room, and giving 100% on every play, then sure. But, none of those things have been true this year.

So, again, THIS version of AJ doesn't make the Eagles better.

Really the key, they came to play yesterday

Carter's 2026 cap number is just under $7mm right now for 2026. It will be very difficult to get it materially lower than that with an extension, even with singing bonus amortization. In a really simple 5 year, $175mm deal with $35mm of cash per year, he's have a ~$7.9mm cap number in 2026. Now if he takes less cash in 2026 and more in 2027 and 2028, then you could maybe get that number down to his current 2026 cap charge. But very hard to save money from the current charge.

Cowherd is a clown who has been pushing the trade AJ narrative for 2 years. It's ramped up ever since his buddy Vrabel became the coach in NE. He's basically a dumber version of Nick Wright...which is saying something.

He's also one of the better run blockers, because he actually tries.

He's the biggest reason the Eagles beat the Vikings a couple weeks ago. 2 TDs and the game winning catch. Your continued unhinged bias against AJ Brown remains apparent. And calling the guy a "POS" means it's clearly personal with you, which shows your lack of objectivity, as has been apparent for weeks.

The Giants are the worst team the Eagles will play all season, their defense is garbage and let up 33 4Q points against the Broncos last week. Maybe wait til the Eagles beat a good team without AJ Brown before we start the "AJ doesn't make the Eagles better" garbage. Because that's what it is... garbage.

I believe having Toth instead of Jurgens proved to be a blessing. Toth's deficiencies as a shotgun snapper meant they had a higher proportion of under center snaps ... with clean snaps back to Hurts. In addition, Toth's lack of imposing physicality was/is less of a drawback at Center than it is at Guard. As a result the overall execution of the Line was improved, and the blocking of Fred Johnson as the inline TE added to that improved execution.

JMO

Interesting take and I agree if that's what it took to get Hurts up under center. Lots of highlights showing Toth getting real good blocks.

Good news there is value is low. Maybe can get a better player with a 4

Who is out there though that would be assuredly better than what we have?

I have no idea who may be in the trade block. I wouldn't make a trade for a CB unless it's a proven starter. Bennett is a good as any high upside lottery ticket already.

But I wouldn't pass on an established, upgrade there, because it is a need and Bennett is unproven so far.

Feels like we aren't appreciating Hunt's development enough. To go from an Ivy League safety a few years ago to this...pretty incredible. Hopefully he keeps ascending.

The current version of AJ doesn't. I acknowledged that the best version of him does, but we're not getting that.

Don't be so sensitive, princess.

When you don't know ball...

Saw this response to a tweet and it makes a lot of sense.

The OG tweet is a terrible take to begin with. Calm down Sebastian.
