He's almost 30, so Browns have to strike fast to get a sweetheart package. He's tired of losing and in his prime. Clock is ticking. He gave nothing burger answers in his press conference after his last game and kept saying " I just want to win." He's come to that point in Cleveland. It's 💩 or get off the pot. Salary cap hits are turrible for both teams, but there's always the right price for a deal to be made.

But it was negotiation tactics to get PAID. Now that he got his bag and they are still losing, he can steer this in a different direction. AJ gets paid and is happy for a few minutes and is on a Superbowl contender and... is liable to ask out any day....

The window will be open longer than 2 more yearsHowie is a magician, but what I'm saying is that if we take on Garrett's salary, we will then have to find ways to pay all of the following within the next 2, max of 3 years...Carter, N. Smith, J. Davis, J. Hunt, DeJean, and Mitchell. And then there's guys like Ojomo, Dean, and Steen, etc. And that's not even considering what we'd have to do with guys' contracts that we already have like Hurts, Brown, Smith, etc, etc. The dark days I'm referring to are when we will be forced to shed players...can't pay them all!

Smith and Hunt will still see most of the snaps. I agree that Phillips is an upgrade over Uche, Graham and Ojulari. I just don't think Vic is going to play him over Smith unless the injury is limiting.

6 hours ago6 hr 3 first round picks…either traded or just whiffed is exactly enough to ensure a definitive and unavoidable suppression in team talent and lack of championship window for about a few years in a few years. That’s a fact. Howie isn’t a magician. Now…Howie is a superlative rebuilder. So if you are of the opinion that this team will be in a transitional period between windows of opportunity a few years from now anyway…then why not suck even worse then so we can win another SB or two now?Easy rationale, but the timing isn’t always that simple.

6 hours ago6 hr Two 1st round picks and Nolan Smith sounds like the right deal here. One of Smith or Hunt won't be here in a couple years because of the cap. Cash in now. A good deal is when both sides feel pain. Said this guy. LOL

Nolan is injury prone. Also, still don't know how consistent he's going to be. Gave us about a half a good season thus far. I'm not sure we can keep either to be honest. TBDI've already submitted to the fact that our 3 cornerstones and must keeps are Q, Coop and JC. Anything else we can keep will be gravy.
