OK. Let me be more specific. I am referring to the read-option runs. Like the one he scored on against LAR in the Division Playoff. It was a feature last season. Their run game looked very vanilla tonight.

Yeah I definitely agree there, not just the run game, but everything looked vanilla. Slants and RPOs were our bread and butter last year and we saw none of the latter, and only a few of the former that got bracketed by Dallas. It's why I said I'm looking for reasons to be confident that Patullo can figure things out with a small tweak here or there, but I'm coming up empty. We could be in for a long season.

Biggest disappointment non-Carter variety: Ojomo sucked. Bad.

It may look a little better when Carter is back out there.

He did, but I'm not concerned about him. It's not like he's a guy who was on the practice squad all season in 2024 and this is his first time playing. He's played well in the league, I think he's an ascending player. I think he'll be fine. Far more concerned about the Edge. I still can't believe that they came into this season with Jalyx Hunt as a starter. I think he has a ton of upside, but my god, a year ago he was said to be two years away and he barely played last season and only because of injury to BG. And they just came into this season with him as a starter. It's insanity they didn't find a way to add more at Edge during the offseason. And I don't care of Ojulari had a bad camp, he's played in this league before and has had success. That matters. He's had 8 sack seasons on the Fing Giants. Play him

I think Hunt is going to look better by the people who watch it a 2nd time.

Uche also started to generate more pressure in the 2nd half.

post-game is bringing up that Carter had the most unnecessary roughness penalties last year, with 7. I dont really care about any of them because I love his craziness and physicality for our defense. Today is different. It didnt have anything to do with football. He never even got to be on the field. Much more hurtful than an occasionally 15 yard penalty throughout the year.

I wonder if AJ Brown didn't get targeted because his hamstring is still an issue. Because on that one catch he got, he didn't seem to put an effort into shaking and baking the defender. But maybe he just didn't want to lose yardage or risk going out of bounds. But it would explain how they inexplicably didn't throw him the ball all game.

However, he wasn't even on the injury report, so... but I guess that doesn't mean it's not an issue. Hard to say. Reporters have all said he's fine and Eagles aren't worried about, so something to keep in mind. And they did have all WRs active today I believe

He didn't get targeted because Jalen struggles against 7 men in coverage.

Is AJ actually hurt because did he run a route further than 10 yards

Go listen to that whining boomer on PGL complaining that Carter's apology wasn't "sincere enough." He HAS got to be better than that and he is to blame. That being said I just love how most people are ignoring that Dak spit directly at him first.

Eh last year he had 1 target from the second half of the ravens game thru first half of Carolina. I have a feeling next week he has 3-4 targets in the first half

For sure. That being said I think the play was designed for Jalen to do one quick read and take off if he didn't like what he saw. He absolutely juked that white LB out of his jock.

Agreed. It was 100 percent a designed pass, with a tag to take off if he doesn’t get the first read open. Dotson was really open on the slant. Not sure he should have tried to fit it into Goedert.

That was Hurts' 11th game at 75% or higher completion %

The team is 9-2 in those games.

The 2 loses were the Saquon drop Falcons game and the Siri cowardly FG vs Arizona game.

It wasn’t a draw.

The Hurts magic can only last so long, games like this are like taking money out of the bank. The offense needs to be a lot more before he breaks down.

I just watched it again, you're right. And Dallas still had a TO.

@Connecticut Eagle I was mistaken, they called an actual pass there and Hurts bailed them out again. Which is actually even more concerning. Yikes.

Play of the game was Baun running down Sanders. If he doesn't fetch him DAL scores a TD there...couple of plays later and theres the fumble to keep DAL off the board completely.

I guess it’s settled. Saqoun > Sanders

Go get Christian Wilkins and this D will look totally different in 6 weeks.

Remember when Coop got the starting job and the D took off. Jihad getting his feet wet and in 6 weeks you will see a special special player which will take the d up a notch

Youre only remembering the 2nd half run game.

1st half, Hurts was burning them. Barkley had 50 yards on a good YPC average. Shipley had a big chunk. AJ Dillon came in with 10 yards on his first carry.

Then Dillon took out Landon and Mailata on one play, and everything went to hell in the run game.

There is no global, vanilla run game issue with our offense. It came down to adjusting the game plan for injuries and trying to preserve a lead. Both things lead to getting too conservative.

Because who gives a S that he spit in his general direction and smiled afterward?

the hamstring is definitely not the issue, but that will be the excuse.

Nothing tonight was overly unexpected in terms of individual players. Pretty much everything I was concerned about coming into the game(and all offseason leading up to it) kept me concerned after it.

Otherwise, if there was an unexpected thing it was AJ Brown not getting a target til the final 2 minutes. And possibly Saquon not having more success on the ground, but teams will defend the run differently this year so Eagles better be ready.

Patullo seemed to be calling a good game in rhe first half. Jalen was comfortable making passes over rhe middle to Goedert and taking check downs to the backs. 2nd half was a different story. Really conservative.

Yep, and it totally has nothing to do with the fact that our stupid coaches refuse to have AJ run slants against off coverage which are basically free first downs. That route he ran on that crucial 3rd and long late in the game was laughably stupid.

On the bright side, Jordan Davis was GOOD with extended snaps.

I’m sure all 22 might prove us both wrong, but what game did you watch? He was terrible if he was blocked.
