Either DeJean sat in September because Fangio hates us all and wanted us to suffer or he wanted DeJean to learn more first.

Its hilarious that someone could think that they know DBs and secondary play in Fangio's system better than Fangio.

Adoree is clearly the inferior player but he was the most ready on September 4th. The knowledge gap offset the talent gap in Fangio's consideration. The math changes a bit on September 14th, 21st, and 28th and so on as the young guys learn.

Its possible that what Adoree put on film (it was worse than it looked on Thursday) makes the calculation easy and you would now even put a guy off the street in there over him.

People can go ahead and stay angry if it makes them feel good. What has Fangio ever done to earn a bit of trust?

And that Howie scrub? Only 3 SBs in 8 years? Do better! 🤣

Howie evidently thought he knew the secondary better than Fangio since he didn't ask him about Jackson. He made some decisions this year that were self inflicted. Best GM in football? Yeah, but sometimes he gets too cute. That shouldn't preclude us as fans from talking about it.

Perhaps the most interesting question from Thursday’s game is, "Why did Vic intentionally choose to not have Q shadow CeeDee from side to side … thereby forcing Adoree to frequently have to cover CeeDee.”

One possibility is that Vic wanted to give Adoree a baptism by fire in order to see how he responded. Thoughts?

A second question for Vic would be, "Why did the DB coaches trot out a scheme where both the CBs were lining up so far off the LOS, giving the Cowboys WRs such a huge cushion?”

It is speculation on our part as fans that Howie didn’t discuss the Adoree signing prior to pulling the trigger on that signing. I personally find that next to impossible to believe. I believe Howie’s recent run of success is built on a foundation of collaboration with input coming from the many voices throughout the Front Office team … scouts, Big Dom, Nick, Stoutland, Vic, and all the coaches. The signing of Chance Campbell is evidence that Howie takes input from Billy King. If that is true, what logical reason is there to believe he doesn’t take input from Fangio?

It's obvious Howie's plan at CB didn't work out. It was always iffy and the faith in Ringo didn't pay off. He also overrates Adore because he missed on him the first time.

That said I'm sure he'll continue to address and I don't know why some people seem so bitter over everything. We just won the SB ffs and he was executive of the year

How is it speculation when Vic said it in a press conference

I think more of Pickens on Adoree deep is a much bigger issue for giving up insane chunk plays - as a coverage guy down the field and lack of physicality and ability to tackle a more aggressive WR.

I think CB2 hs to go to Bennet very quickly, and start looking for a vet that’s worthwhile. Ringo and Adoree showed nothing positive. I’m still shocked Rick’s was cut as he seemed to be much more naturally in position when targeted and has the length to compensate for some of his foot speed. He and Bennet in pre-season seemed so much more competitive at the catch point than Ringo/Adoree who just seem to be miles away from their assignment always.

Also maybe Fangio just wanted to put on film how terrible Adoree is to prove a point to Howie after he got rid of 2 of our 3 top outside CBs with experience.

Copy and paste the transcript of Vic’s comment, and then analyze it. You will find that the beats and the fans were/are doing more "reading between the lines” that looking at what Vic explicitly said. The beats were drumming up a story that gave them clicks.

Further, what Fangio said was in response to a leading question for one of the beats … a question that presumed a breakdown in communication and trust between Fangio and Howie.

The media follows the rule of "If it bleeds it leads.” They were looking for blood. Fangio sensed that and let them have their story with his answer.

Not allowed to criticize Howie

DeJean changes the numbers against the run. Replacing him with an old 180 lb guy would be moronic.

Indian is perfect. Plenty of options for both of you, and a lot of the veg options meat eaters also like.

My issue with Ricks is the same issue I had with Rodgers (and why I had no problem letting him go in Free Agency), which is ball location skills. It is one thing to be able to be in the right defensive position to defend the receiver, but if you don’t have the ball location skills to be able to turn and track the pass trajectory, the receiver hill be more often than not able to out compete the CB for the ball, and make the catch. That was the case with Rodgers big time, and the case with Ricks to a lesser extent. Couple that with Ricks’ lack of foot speed and you get a player who comes up a day late and s dollar short.

What's funny is that I literally said his plan didn't work and that he overrated Adore. I guess for some people it's not criticism unless you imply that he personally wronged you in some deep inexcusable way

What you are saying is that Vic feels it is more important to win an argument with Howie than to win football games. Really?

I think we mostly agree based on the good points you made.

For me, it's not bitterness but love for the team like you and everyone else in here. I don't think any of us expect perfection, but for me personally, it's the self-inflicted ones that bug me the most, which seem to be accumulating at CB.

-Want to move on from Slay? Cool

-Want to trade CJ? Cool

-Want to let Rodgers go? OK, but the backup plan shouldn't be counting on a guy who was benched by the Giants last year. Perhaps it's not standard procedure to speak with Vic before signing the CB, but maybe they should consider doing so.

-And how the heck did they misjudge Ringo so poorly when they watched him every day in practice for two years?

Every team has holes but they created this one.

You really don't understand why most people aren't overly critical of his moves that haven't worked?

I don't know. Commercials and stops in play maybe? Or we're just old!
