I dont give them a pass for not being able to adjust. Those injuries to the OL happened before the 1st half ended. They knew about it at half time, and did nothing but get even more conservative.

Dallas used the old tampa bay blue print. Play zone. Keep everything in front and dont let them run the ball. The eagles have struggled against that for years now.

I dont care that they scored TDs on their first 3 consecutive possessions. That offense was completely reliant on Hurts' scrambling to extend drives, which can be taken away, and was for the entire 2nd half (except of course the game winning 1st down, but still, there was nothing there all 2nd half for him).

Whats more is it is also completely reliant on not a single 5 yard penalty. Averaging so few yards per play, 1 penalty...1 mistake, by anyone, is a drive killer. That offense was not good enough to win many games.

I do think theyll improve as the season goes on.

I agree they got a little too conservative with the play calling, but your being too harsh.

The one hour delay was not helpful and it was 11pm local, plus Mailata and Dickerson just sitting around that whole time. Neither team looked sharp at all after that.

In general, the Cowboys picked their poison and gave up huge running lanes to Hurts. I'll take that every time. He didn't take a single hard hit in that game.

IMO it was Hurts who pretty much removed any and all chances for a comeback in the SB with his legs. He demoralized the Chiefs. No problem if they want another helping of that.

  • It’s really cool that the Eagles have become an antichoke team. A lot of that is that Hurts has the sideline disposition of a corpse whether it is September or the SB.

again, those injuries happened before half time. They didnt look sharp on the very next play after Dillon ran in to them. It was obvious immediately. It wasnt just the 1 hour delay.

Cowboys stopped giving him those running lanes all 2nd half. Hurts did find 1 when it was crunch time to win the game. Even then, it wasnt much, but it was all he needed.

Our passing game needs to be better.

And why couldnt we try running to the right side if the left and middle werent working? Why couldnt we pass to the RB or run more screens in the 2nd half. We did we stop passing to Goedert? Why couldnt we throw a pass to WRs?

3 successful drives. Millions of questions. An entire half of ineptitude. I give them a very low grade for the week.

I have almost no fear of GB. Love is a choke artist. His signature win is against the biggest chokers of all, Dallas.

The guy will fold like a lawn chair. Now he's without Reed for a while. They'll crash back down to earth when it gets tough

The NFL stinks in general. This era of QBs is not great. So I dont expect to see a crash. They'll win a ton of games because they are maybe the 2nd best team in the NFC right now. But, they aren't nearly as good as the Eagles if the Eagles get rolling again like last year. And they aren't better than the Ravens or Bills. Maybe the Chiefs can beat them too.

They're not a super bowl contender. But they may get close because there just aren't teams standing in their way, especially in the NFC.

I just think this is lazy, sensationalist stuff. Those two offenses are nowhere near what they were last year. But they are being used to artificially build up Green Bay as a super power. This is nauseating stuff.

The word 2024 makes the rest of his post a load of nonsense. The sort of post where it was best left as a draft that gets deleted in a week or two

Mailata and Dickerson were injured by Dillon in the 3rd quarter on the FG drive, not in the 1st half. Before the weather delay, which likely made it worse for those guys as they tightened up.

This is like the Temu version of the old DTC!

Do they still wave to the busses when they leave for away games? roll

A colleague of mine in Oz caught a nasty RSV a month or so ago - wasn't COVID - that took 2 o 3 weeks to finally go. High temp, cough, tiredness, etc. Their Dr gave them a bunch of uppers so they could work, but it was a nasty one

Oh wow, I wonder if that’s what it is. I have so much crap in my lungs I’m wheezing all the time.

Oh OK. Before the delay.

Might have made them worse but they were already clearly ineffective in the plays immediately following that play, prior to the delay.

The first four games of every season are the "shakeout cruise."

New players, new coordinators, new schemes.

AR's teams used to get off to slow starts on a regular basis, then run the table.

Eagles did that last season.

After a few games, Patullo will settle in at OC, meanwhile Fangio sees the first few games as his test lab, seeing which new players can handle their roles.

To me, get to the bye week 5-3 or better, then "roll Tide (in the Eagles case, Bulldogs)" and go 7-2 or 8-1 the rest of the way and into the playoffs with all units playing at a high level.

They had to postpone international travel plans because of how bad it was - when we last spoke, they sound v breathy. It was going around a local pre-school and affected everyone who had a kid there, and their wider families. Australia seems to be the inception point for the annual RSV fest to, so if its there, we're all gonna get it
