If Fred Johnson did so well filling in for Lane then why can't he possible be the successor to Lane at RT? Ideally yeah you would want a chance at some other high end young tackle prospect but with the Eagles in dynasty mode they likely won't get a shot at one. Fred Johnson just 28. Could he be a quality relatively low cost option at RT for 4ish years if we say Lane retires after this year? Of course you take your chances over that same time to try to draft and develop a more maintain replacement but it doesn't become some target on your back obvious to everyone else need in a draft or something to try and force yourself into maneuvering a way to make it happen.

Ringo. Nickerson is likely insurance if DeJean has to move outside if Ringo goes down. I’d guess the edges are Smith and Hunt with Uche also getting involved. Just a hunch but I’d bet on Okoronkwo being active ahead of Ojulari because he can play ST’s.

One other interesting angle is now that Shipley is back there’s no reason to have Bigsby and Gipson both active. They certainly aren’t calling up Covey. Seems like they have a bunch of half measures thrown at the returner position that don’t really make much sense.

It probably means nothing but I’m not even a fan of this comment. This and going a day early makes it seem like all they are thinking about is the heat and none of this preparation will even matter.

They are all thinking about it but it is a result of past results against them in that awful humid heat. No different than when Tampa in the early 00s was getting owned by the Eagles and it was in their head going into a NFC Championship where their franchise never won a game below 40 degrees, they were all thinking about that because they needed to flip the ownership and they did. If Eagles are to win and get their full dominant revenge then they must become one with the humid heat. It is purely a mental hurdle at this point and it is all mind over matter so that is the only thing stepping in their way, especially with the Mike Evans injury and AJ Brown actually being able to play this Bucs game.

This is the opposite of what he was doing in the offseason when he was asked if he reached out to any other 2k rushers to get their advice on what to do to prep for the following season after that workload and production, including Henry. He said he didn't reach out to anyone and just listening to Eagles trainers.

Pretty quick flip and I fear too late. He should have sought that offseason knowledge.

I want so bad to see the Jalen Hurts MVP season after he was robbed in 2022 for missing just 2 games at the end of the year. Which really if anything should have just strengthened his MVP eligibility since the Eagles went 0-2 without him but 14-1 with him that season. Especially since he got injured in that Chicago game yet still played from like the 2nd quarter on in that game. I was at that game too. Probably the coldest game I've been to and I've been to a lot of games over the decades. The wind off the lake was absolutely brutal where I was at. The stadium isn't the greatest either for escaping that sort of thing, although there were some areas. Anyway, if Jalen plays 16-17 games this season and the Eagles land the #1 seed then I think he will end up season MVP finally.

I had the opposite reaction. I like the focus of going early and thinking about little tricks to get an edge, admittedly probably not too much to the idea, except you sure AF won't be as hot in the sun as you are in a sauna.
