All along I’ve been thinking that the two PS activations were gonna be Covey and Sam (or Epps if they think he’s acclimated enough, which I’m kinda skeptical about.) But I think we’re now at the point where we’ll probably play a game (or two or three) with Dotson and DeJean returning punts. With McKee definitely out, having McCord in uniform is probably more important than the incremental gain they might receive from what Covey is able to provide in the return game. And I don’t mean that as a knock on Covey. Heck, I’m probably his biggest fan here. Having only two quarterbacks in uniform seems downright reckless. It feels more like an anomaly to me. Did the emergency QB for anyone play at all last two years? The last game I feel like it happened was the Eagles/49ers NFCCG when the rule didn’t exist.

If McCord has to play I’m not sure he’s not a net negative.

Stroud was 25th in passer rating and 27th in ANY/A. The closest QB to him in both stats might have been Cooper Rush.

3 TDs in the 2nd half vs a really good Texans D is nice, but he had zero pressure to win a shootout from Stroud.
