Yea, I get that part, it just seems weird to undo the Thursday move on Friday and bring back the guys that already got paid. They could have brought two different guys in and got them paid too.

It should have been me!

I was gonna tweet at the eagles asking if i could be on the PS off and on for like a month.

@mattwill RZ dominance takes a hit, 24-20 Broncos. Hurts sacked 4+ times.

Do it while you can but I wouldn't be surprised if this is something the NFL tries to go after eventually to stop it

Agreed.

AJ Brown does something on the sideline that becomes a story in the media.

Seriously need to enforce non eagles stuff should go to ATNFL

Why?

6ers being very cheap. Jerry Jones not paying Parsons.

Lurie: " How can I figure out ways to pay MORE players than any team has to?"

Booked the flights back in February, but will be leaving today for a much needed, week-long vacation.

Will be out of town for two Eagles games and the first three games of the NLDS.

However, will be watching the Eagles-Broncos game at Passyunk Avenue, the Eagles bar in Kensington!

Most likely, they think Ricks and APR are more likely than Sykes and Henry to be signed by another team. So they got Sykes and Henry paid for the week, then resign the guys they are more interested in keeping. Ricks and APR stay through next Wednesday, which is when teams start practicing. Other teams would try and sign to the PS or 53 on Monday or Tuesday, so now teams must put Ricks on APR on the 53 to get them in time to practice next week.

Basically, we'd rather lose Sykes or Henry.

@mattwill it SHOULD be difficult for the Broncos this week, short week and traveling. That said, with how awful the offense was last week and the Denver defense being decent to actually good (opponents haven't been super strong so far) I just don't see the defense bailing them out for a 4th straight week.

IMO the Rams are a bigger threat in the NFC come playoff time.

That being said, F the 49ers. I hope they lose every game they're not playing the Cowboys.

We do have the tie breaker on the rams though. It’s more likely SF beats LA again when they get healthy later in the season, and they could be the bigger threat for the #1 seed

Did we protect anyone on the PS this week?

True. But if the Rams (they, along with the Lions, are the teams I fear the most) end up not winning the division, then they would likely have to play all their playoff games on the road - a more difficult path.

I believe for the practice squad the pay is a day rate as opposed to one day qualifying for the whole week of pay, but I could be wrong on that

There was something I read recently that explained that it was precisely that. Guys that are on the PS for one day during the week get 1/7th of the normal rate. I think it’s something like $15,000 per week, so a guy can make about two grand for a single day.

Unless I’m wrong of course.

Those payments do use up cap space. Very little cap space but cap space nonetheless.

I think the salary cap is only the top 51 players but I could be wrong. I never geeked out totally on it. Just a little

That's only during TC

But they are daily so the only impact is driven by their longevity in the league, which is also limited.
