I said it before....11-6 should easily win this division and the Eagles should Gump their way to that record even with the way the offense is performing. Now if the Offense could get their proverbial head out of their asses......this team could go 14-3 and again contend for a Super Bowl. On a positive note though....at least this team isn't the Sixers or Phillies.

Not a great start to the series for the Phillies. Jumped out to an early lead... and this is where losing Wheeler hurts most. You stake Wheeler to a 3 run lead in the 2nd inning and he can cruise to 7 or 8 strong innings, maybe giving up 1 run and you need 3 or 6 outs from the bullpen.

Sanchez has been spectacular this year, but it's altogether different in the postseason and he's just not that guy yet. He's proven that he can pitch in the postseason, but I think he runs more on adrenaline in the postseason and flames out quicker. This game was lost in the 6/7th inning. Bringing in Robertson to get the last out of the 6th makes sense, but putting him in an up/down situation was the issue in my eyes. The guy is 40 years old and didn't pitch much during the season. He warms up, pitches one inning or a fraction of an inning and then he sits down. Trouble is, they were only in the 7th inning and had to find 9 more outs. 3 from Duran in the 9th... but the gap between 7 and 9 was the issue. The Phillies bullpen doesn't have those guys this year. Strahm, Kerkering and Alvarado were supposed to be those guys. Strahm and Kerkering have regressed recently and Alvarado eliminated himself.

Doesn't help their big 3 go 0 for 12? Is that what it was?

I only got to see the highlights on Youtube. But, they got no mention, so that tracks. Ohtani was held in check too. 4Ks was it?

@mattwill

No idea what to think of this team. It feels like they should make a huge effort to feed AJ and DeVonta, but I thought that last week too.

Eagles 31

Broncos 17

-Both AJ/DeVonta get 100 yards and a TD each.

-Quinton gets a pick 6 and outplays Surtain.

It might be excuse making... but it seems to me that there's no real benefit for the teams that get the bye in the playoffs. It really comes more down to which team is hotter, and with baseball being so much more of a rhythm sport... layoffs seem to be more of a detriment, or at least something that needs to be overcome more than a benefit worth pushing to acquire.

I'd be curious how many teams that got the bye have struggled early in their first series. 🤷‍♂️

I was listening to 97.5 and I forget exact numbers but let's just say the bye and teams having it do not do well in the MLB playoffs.

I am not sure what you have been watching and reading, but Denver is a really good team with a really strong defense. They are sneaky good and have been able to fly under the radar. They are not pushovers and not to be taken lightly.

If the Broncos D can stick to tendency and play man coverage, we’ll get enough big plays to win because Jalen can read it and run behind it. If they paid attention to the 2nd half of last week’s game, they’ll play variations of C3 and it will be a slog. In the latter scenario, the path to victory will be a Bo Nix meltdown. In any case, I think Smitty needs to have a big week vs Riley Moss.

WEEK 5 is here Eagles Fans. Welcome to the October after having a Perfect September (Coming off a Super Perfect January/Feb). The Eagles historical streak continues. 20-1 in the last 21 games. Two back to back 10 Game Winning Streaks since last year. 13 Straight Wins in Philadelphia. They have just kept finding ways week in and week out. This year it hasn't looked the prettiest as the Eagles have won all four of their games by one score. Defense and Special Teams has also come up in the clutch in several games. The Offense has been up and down. After four brutal weeks playing teams that absolutely hate us and wanted to beat us badly.

We now face an out of conference Broncos team that we only play ever 4 years. Vic Fangio's old team. The Eagles are 9-5 all Time against the Broncos. The Eagles are also 6-1 in Philly Vs The Broncos. Their last win in Philadelphia was in 1986 at the old Vet (I was under 10 at the time, lol. They have never won at the Linc (0-2). What's weird about this series is it seems to be a lot of blowouts and dominating performances. The last two wins against the Broncos were basically blowouts. I think this broncos teams has good defense and the young QB Bo Nix is also doing pretty good. Of course Sean Peyton can be a thorn in our side at times (During his Saints era).

This Broncos team lost their only two games on the road at the last minute. So they are better than their 2-2 record. With that said, this is a tall task. Sure the Eagles are winning at a historical pace. But I don't see them tripping up here at Home. Also the Broncos are coming off a short week traveling to the East Coast. The Eagles always play the Broncos well in Philly. If this was in Denver it would be a different story as the Eagles are 3-4 in Mile High. With all the talk about the Offense, I think they finally bring it together this game. The Eagles are 14-2 including the playoffs Vs The AFC with Jalen starting since 2022. Eagles hit 5-0 for the 3rd Time in Four Seasons with their best performance this year:

BIRDS - 38

BRONCOS - 13

JALEN - RUSH TD

SAQUON - RUSH TD

AJ - TD

GOEDERT - TD

DEVONTA - TD

JAKE - FG

DEENSE: INT, FUMBLE, MULTIPLE SACKS

ST: BLOCK KICK

Wish he was here in 2023… I can’t remember, did Gannon screw that up with his waffling?

Well, that's what I would have expected. Quoting someone's post rather than her tweet. Good job!

This is the tweet that got his panties in a twist. Figured I would post this here since the internet seems to be too hard for him.

So some think the Eagles are ripe for an epic collapse like 2023? Okay, but the reasons will be different. Turnovers and bad defense? Not so fast.

I looked it up. There have been 12 LDs series... and the team coming off the bye has won 6. That's not much of an "advantage".

What’s the alternative? No byes, but spot them a game😁 The 1 seed can choose their opponent🤷‍♂️ Is HFA real in baseball? Change the mix of games to be less even (e.g., 3 game series, all at home; 5, 4 at home; 7, 5 home; WS normal 4:3).

Way to exaggerate! They were 1-11.

Thank you. If they're afraid of the run they bring a safety down. If they're not, they don't. I can see how that would confuse him.

If you have a safety in the box, it might be more difficult to bail into C2 or C4 looks - so Jalen gets to see fewer coverages and hence has a better pre-snap feel for what the defense is doing.

More teams in the playoffs. No bye.

Or, my actual preference, fewer teams in the playoffs and no bye. But, no professional league will EVER cut down the number of playoffs teams. It only ever grows. So... bring more to the party... more money, more games... and maybe even more Cinderella stories.

We still made the playoffs in 2023, so I don’t think our draft position would be significantly different nor would are personnel issues in the secondary have been solved.

It's pretty wild that Judkins came in as a rookie with zero training camp/preseason and has turned into a stud workhorse RB already. They low-key had a great draft so far that was completely overshadowed by the Shadeur nonsense.
