When the offball OG pulls across the formation to lead the runner, the unblocked DL is completely crashing through the open gap and pursuing the play from behind. The offensive brain trust should see this and run a counter with a misdirection or reverse to keep them honest...there is absolutely no counter...again which suggests either a failure in real time play calling or no sequencing...I am sure that this is just one example of the myopia and stupidity.
Wednesday at 07:00 PM1 day It's hard to believe that a top NFL team would be this predictable. Truly wild.
Wednesday at 07:12 PM1 day I want to say the statistic I heard was under center the Eagles run 80% of the time and out of the shotgun/spread they pass 80% of the time. Something to that effect, I can’t remember the exact numbers.

Which, IMHO, is what's happening. We all know what happened the last time the Iggles promoted from within. And conversely, we know what happened when they hired from outside the cocoon of the NovaCare Complex. 🙃According to what was reported, Padullo was everyone's choice. The receivers, Hurts and Siranni all wanted him. Johnson didn't seem to have the same level of support. It appears though that he really wasn't much of a passing game coordinator last season. He seems to have little to no positive impact on the offense. Why they don't just cut and paste what the did last season or what other teams do, I don't know. It is like they have a bubble of ignorance. My guess is that Howie is already consulting with outside coaches to address the issue.
Wednesday at 07:15 PM1 day Sunday's game against the Broncos looked like an overcorrection to me. I was completed baffled that, even while the Eagles were leading, they'd run 31 pass plays and 8 running plays. That doesn't even include the 5 plays Hurts was sacked. Hurts himself didn't run the ball at all; I think he had one carry through the first 3 quarters. Maybe he was feeling the effects of getting his bell rung the previous game. It wasn't like the Eagles couldn't run the ball -- Barkley had 5 carries for 30 yards and Dillon had 2 carries for 12 yards. I guess Shipley getting nothing on that one play really took the Eagles out of the run game. The Giants strength is their pass rush. They have a shortage of roster talent but are loaded with pass rushers. Run the ball at them and get the ball out quickly with short passes.

Wednesday at 07:35 PM1 day @mattwillGive me a repeat of the last time the Eagles/Giants truly played (not week 18 in a non factor game).28-3 Eagles.OL and Hurts struggle early, Saquon takes over.Bonus: Saquon gets his record this time.Extra bonus: Hurts has 5 second half passes instead of 2? this time.Shouldn’t count because it’s a given: Patullo still can’t call plays.

So it's likely more consistent with NFL policy.

The 49ers had a slide after the late 90s, but then came back and even made it to a Super Bowl... three times.
