Sports just keeps getting worse and worse thanks to greed. Arrowhead is a historic stadium and they're gonna leave it for what will absolutely be some lame dome in the hopes they can get one Super Bowl there.

Yeah... I am thinking the Eagles need to avoid finding a player with a "versatility" label. I believe they need a couple of "anchors", especially at OT. I believe the highest priority this offseason is investing in Lane's replacement and that will take a first round pick. Someone who has multiple years of successful experience at that one position. They all need to prioritize CB, TE and OG with those first picks...the OG can be a OT transfer. Howie is in for a very demanding and busy offseason, especially with all the defensive personnel decisions and nailing the draft. I believe the Eagles can keep the window open for a few more years, but there has to be a lot of precision in their thinking and planning.

Remember Becton wasn't an OG until Stoutland convinced him that he would be good in that position. I think what Stoutland sees as versatile is not what scouts may think of as position versatility. Tyler Steen, except for arm length, is above average in measurables for an OT. Landon Dickerson is about average in terms of height for an OT and his arm length is the same as Penei Sewell's. When the Eagles talk about versatility to move inside, I think it is more about potentially not having the skills to be an OT vs. being too undersized to play OT.

Agreed

Another dome coming our way 😔

The amount of people who don't realize the Chiefs are in Missouri is astounding.

This past offseason he also said he might retire this year.

This quote below is from March:

Johnson signed a one-year extension earlier this week, and he’s now under contract through 2027. If he plays through that deal, he'd match Graham’s franchise-record 15 seasons with the Eagles, and he’d be 37, which would make him the 2nd-oldest position player in franchise history, behind his mentor, Jason Peters.

Is three more years possible?

"Yeah, I mean it's very possible,” Johnson said Wednesday. "I think when you get to this stage of your career, you take it year by year, but physically I feel really good.

"You know, a few years ago when I was coming back from all these (ankle) surgeries, I thought my body was going to start failing or going downhill. But I just think with the strength and conditioning program we have here and the stuff we do in the offseason, I feel really good.

"So, yeah, as long as I'm feeling good and I feel like I can contribute, I think I'll continue to play. It's all I've really known. I just love my football family. I'm an only child, so my brothers are here and have always been in the locker room, and that's how I feel.”

My guess is he plays next season in 2026 and then retires, but that's obviously just a guess. If the Eagles can identify a prospect near their draft slot, I think OT will be their top draft priority

We're less than a decade away from 1/2 the teams in the NFL having a dome/retractable roof stadiums.

Bears, Titans, Chiefs, Browns, Redskins and most likely the Broncos are moving in to domes.

Indy, Atlanta, Detroit, Minnesota, Dallas, Houston, LAR, LAC, New Orleans, Arizona, Las Vegas all play in domes.

This sucks.

They shouldn't have traded Metchie - he's perfectly serviceable as a WR3 in this offense and would've been under contract next year.

He said this in August

"It all comes down to family.”Yeah, with that said if we win another one it could be a high possibility,""Like anybody, older player, you spend so much time away from family and friends. So for me, 13 years in the league, plus college, plus high school. A lot of stuff you don't get to enjoy with the rest of your family so that weighs in on your mind. "

But Michael Carter has been such a strong addition!

Agreed though. Metchie has WR2 potential. The Eagles just never throw to anyone no WR1/2 or TE1 RB dump. That's the offense.

Through 2030. Then not anymore unless they have a change of heart.

That's a shame - more games from the inside of an IKEA, yawn.

Which means NCAA will probably use it for more bowls/championship games too. Everything moving indoors is so boring.

Fran, who is one of the media people who go softer than the Eagles than anyone else, was more bothered by the way the Eagles played than anyone I think. It was surprising yet refreshing to hear. He really trashed the Eagles after that game, which is rare for him, especially off a decisive final score. He said they went away from so much of the stuff that worked for them the previous two weeks, talked about how unacceptable their game plan to attack that defense was given how poor they are, and went on a rant about how Sirianni coaches like a faux tough guy(without using those words).

He said they're so terrified at the end of the first half to attack the defense and let it rip and try to go down and get points and have been that way all season, but when you're up 27-10 and the game clearly is over at that point, then you decide to show this fake aggressiveness. And honestly, I agree with him. I don't think the Eagles played particularly well in that game, especially the first half, and I realize Elliott missed FGs that would've given them more points, but I thought the coaching in that game was a disgrace. That's the kind of coaching that costs you playoff games, and if this team gets beat on the field in the playoffs because the players just get outplayed by the other team's players... I can accept that. But if I have to stew an entire offseason over this team's quest to repeat falling short because the coaches came out terrified to try anything aggressive on offense and reverted back to their bad and unimaginative habits, and because they waste end of half drives with BS, then nothing short of this offensive staff getting gutted in the offseason will ease my fury.

They need to follow the NBA's lead to make the indoor fields more distinct... like Boise or Washington State 😵

@Freshmilk what absolutely useless garbage propaganda. Are you counting 15 games from his rookie season?

We count starts for QBs unless we have a pathetic loser agenda.

As a full time starter (2021-forward) Hurts has a 65.5% completions

He averages 258.6 total yards per game from 2021-present.

257.8 from 2022-present (256.5 for Stafford 2022-present)

He has 137 TDs in 62 games (2.21 per game) Stafford has 95 TDs in 55 games. (1.73 per game)

Through age 27 Joe Montana averaged 174.6 yards per game if you are spewing anti-Montana hate propaganda.

Its 253.9 if you only count when he took over as a full time starter.

Steve Young is at 144.7

Mac Jones 213.2 (because he started full time as a rookie)

Your 💩methodology has shown that Mac Jones was better than Montana and Young.

2022-25 Hurts stands up against the all-time greats

47-15 record

2 SBs, 1 Lombardi, and a SB MVP

19 TDs in 8 playoff games (2.38 per game) Stafford has 2.43 as a Ram and 1.67 as a Lion for 2.1 overall

- Hurts is 20 in 9 for 2.22 per game including 2021

30+ TDs every year for 4 straight years (Stafford has never had 2 years in a row and Mahomes never 4)

97.9 passer rating (Stafford is 97.5 over the same period and he is a zero in the run game) Allen is also 97.9

Hurts just got ahead of Allen again for career passer rating but it might be back and forth for years between 2 greats.

He becomes a football legend when you look at his Super Bowls.

Stafford is a first ballot HoF QB.

Hurts is better than Stafford.

McKee averages 71.2 yards per game. What a loser without context and integrity in research!

Up yours. Just having fun showing our QB is an average QB, not great, not horrible in regards to stats. Obviously a great winner. Do me a favor and only type in CAPS so I can easily indentify your pathetic rage at a big nothing burger.

Yep. Then in August after getting into camp and preseason again he said he may retire this year if they win the SB. We discussed it here, people thought he was flip flopping on his answer. But the reality is once these older guys get into playing and the grind of the season they sometimes change their minds. Jason Kelce discussed it for 2, maybe 3 years before actually retiring. Brandon Graham said last year would be his last, retired, then came back. You never really know and these players say different things at different times.

Here are two different conversations in August where he discussed possibly retiring.

Really wish his heir could have a year or 2 with Lane to learn from him

With regard to Elliot, it would be interesting to see what his success rate is WITH the lead and also to factor in when the Eagles are NOT screwing up with time management and or penalties that kill the drive, not because a drive stalls which happens (to the Eagles A LOT) but when it seems like he won't have to kick, but they screw up and he has to run out there and do it. That last could be of no consequence but we seem a bit "fire drill-y" after penalties. But I admit to not having any substantive evidence of it. Just feels that way.

Perhaps interfering with his rhythm.
