If that game was the SB, who gets the MVP?

Not hurts. But for me Carter..the sack, the blocked xpat those are some individual plays that stick out to me. Definitely someone on the defense.

My issue with Nick isn’t as much that he isn’t an X’s and O’s guy. You can have culture/CEO head coaches. My issue is for a guy who emphasizes and prides himself on the details and little things, this team is pretty horrible at both of those and make the dumbest mistakes week in and out. And for being a "culture/locker room” coach, there’s been drama in the locker room two out of the last three years.

So I know you can’t really get rid of him based on the success he’s had, but I don’t know what he brings to the table without great coordinators. He’s lucky to have Fangio, otherwise this is probably a 5 win team this year.

Say it louder for the people in the back

Kellen Moore’s offense with a rookie 2nd round QB, Chris Olave, and a group of practice squad players put up 34 points

Yup - 1st-half Hurts was decent, but was not part of the solution after halftime. That blocked xpt was massive, as some say.

Curious if the Eagles win a playoff game but go out in the Divisional or NFCCG because the offense can't do anything and looks inept if Lurie would clean out the offensive staff. I'm pretty confident he would. At last going after a top OC and I think more changes would be in the works as well. Lurie has to be losing his mind watching this unit every week.

Hurts has done that in the past but it's substantially more this season - by quite a bit. That said, I am beginning to wonder if it is intentional - when McKee played every snap of his was at the 1 second mark - I thought for sure he was going to get called for delay of game at least twice out of 4 snaps.

I did notice that we got to the LOS with plenty of time on the play clock most of the game. Getting to the LOS late has been a complaint. Was not an issue yesterday

I don't even mind rockfight football, I actually kind of like it... but yeah, Jeff would rather be fishing than watch this offense.

If DK Metcalf was an Eagle, would Eagles fans be writing him off?

Tough time to be a Steelers fan....

It would be very Dan Campbell to beat the Bears in a meaningless game to help us get the 2 seed. It would also be very Eagles to lose to the Commanders to squander it.

He may go down as one of the more "underrated" coordinators while he was here, imo.

He needs more than just a good play caller. Sirianni is a bad game planner and a bad schemer and he needs to be completely removed from any and all offensive influence and that won't happen unless a highly respected OC is brought in and given full autonomy. Sirianni is the biggest issue with this offense and that won't change as long as his buddy is here as OC.

A highly respected OC (play caller, schemer, game planner etc) is a tricky thing to acquire. That means you don't want someone climbing the career ladder who has been a QB coach. You want a respected OC. Major issue is that highly respected OC's are interviewing for HC jobs, not our OC position.

So the only way to get a highly respected OC with experience running an offense is to look at recently fired head coaches. (The Patriots did really well on that front bringing in Josh Mcdaniels). Exclusively looking at head coaches fired in the last 2-3 years...only offense oriented guys are Frank Reich, Doug Pederson, Brian Daboll, Brian Callahan, and Arthur Smith. Smith is already an offensive coordinator not exactly doing a bang up job with the Steelers. Reich probably isn't up for that grind. And I don't think anyone wants Doug as the OC.

So that cuts the entire list of respected OC's to Brian Daboll and Brian Callahan.

There is a reason someone "unproven" like Patullo was made the OC. There are 2 available individuals in the entire coaching ranks that fit the description of what we are asking for...both of whom will leave for HC jobs if they do have success here. And I'm not sure either one of them is going to want to attach their future career HC prospects to Jalen Hurts (counter point to that is of course that Steichen and Moore got HC jobs).

The one concern I have with the Commanders is that they've already stated publicly that this would be a "bulletin board" game for them - really hoping they keep the high road and try to beat us on the field - not through cheap shots, etc - last thing we need is someone getting hurt because a Commander decided to take "revenge" with a cheap shot.

Not only does it seem like a fire drill at 2 seconds on the play clock, does this team ever use tempo / no-huddle anymore? Maybe some, but not nearly enough IMO.

We were also back to no Hurts runs yesterday, which I'm fine with until the playoffs.

The reason I'm not panicking about the offense is I believe this team can (and has) shown the ability to hit another gear in the postseason.

Add in some designed Hurts runs, take the "straight jacket" off a little more, and they will be fine.

Hey bud, if you feel called out enough to feel that way when I'm specifically calling out that a lot of the fanbase is acting like psychos, that's not on me. It's arrogant and stupid. It's disrespectful to the fact that there's 32 teams in the league, all also vying for the same trophy. It's disrespectful for the actual work it takes to win in the first place, and most of all, it's a one way road to being miserable pretty much whenever you think about the team.

Starting to think we really need some really bad years before people go insane.

No but I'm happy to call you out when you post crud all day like this. The most expensive offense in the league with arguably more talent than the 49ers or Bears got 15 yards in a half and was blanked for a half for the 4th or 5th time this year. We have a right to be pissed when they are wasting a generational defense because they can't even be average coaches.

At some point to have to put the blame on the HC. We are in a terrible situation with him in general because he’s so dependent on elite coordinators. They should’ve let him go after that 10-1 meltdown. Hired an offensive coach with Vic and we’d be on track for a dynasty.

Ok, that's strange. He's almost an entire yard out before he gets hit. I get your argument is that his foot is likely still an inch or two above the ground when he's hit. However, a QB slowing down and being well off the field of play like that when getting hit (even if his foot is still not technically touching out) has always been a penalty. We've got 50 years of precedence.

Sometimes it gets called, sometimes it doesn’t. Eagles just did almost the same thing to Dart and didn’t get called.

Hurts does this a lot. He slides late and then tip toes sidelines. He had room to safely and fully step out without inviting contact.

A lot of faith in an offense that has been anemic for 17 weeks now. The talent is there, the coaching isn’t

Well you want to play the starters. I'd prioritize availability in the playoffs over getting snaps in against a team that is more focused on draft picks and cheap shots than winning the game.

Yeah and he got to bring Nuss with him.

They were chippy last game too. Wouldn't put it past them

Correct, which is why I'll always maintain Sirianni is a problem and call to move on from him the second there is cause to do so.

For what it's worth - anyone who is still "banged up" including possibly Dickerson/Jurgens shouldn't play, imo - just the 100% healthy starters, imo.

You did just open door #2, which is fair. If you fire Sirianni, then you have access to every OC in the NFL to come here as the HC.

Pretty much it seems like every time they score they mix in tempo to the drive. Then they just stop when they decide that’s enough points.
