I'm not talking about called Hurts runs. Other than draws, those are wasted downs. Hes too slow around the corner.

The scrambles for 1st downs is what we need more of.

Those picked up last year in the playoffs as well. He's going thru the normal period of being less effective running and scrambling as almost all other QBs.

Barring the Rams getting upset by the Falcons or Cardinals, the Eagles will play the Seahawks/Niners/Packers first.

Rank them in order who you'd most like to play to least.

Don’t matter. We’re good enough to win at home vs all 3. Rams will be the toughest opponent

I’m only asking this of non-cult members who are aware of the rest of the league and different perspectives.

Think about the Bears perspective. Do you want to risk injury in a divisional revenge game only to lock up the 2 seed for another divisional revenge game? I’m not saying they tank this week but maybe they rest all the banged up guys and playing GreenBay in 2 weeks is not important to them?

The Packers already beat them and only lost on an onsides kick in the other game.

As of right now my understanding is that the 2 seed would play the Packers, and the 3 seed plays the Rams. Possible home field advantage in the NFCCS aside, that's a much more favorable matchup IMO.

Then if you don't want to open that door (which is also fine), then there exactly 2 names as options with the experience everyone demands to be the OC next year.

My money is on Kafka

The 6 seed is most likely Seattle of SF. It's only LA if they lose to either Atlanta or Arizona. Maybe McVay sits guys in week 18, but guessing they'd rather go to Carolina/TB than come to Philly in round 1.

Garoppolo and the backups are still beating Gannon by 10. 🤣

Most like Packers easily, Fangio is Love’s Baba Yaga

Niners probably the least. There’s something really unknown about them

Ah got it. I'm hopeful for Seattle if that's the case. SF is hot and I don't trust Darnold at all in the playoffs until he proves me wrong.

It would be epic if all the nfc west teams are 1 and done like the nfc north last year. They are very similar with their cream puff schedules

McVay did sit guys week 18 last year and ended up the 4 seed. So he may very well sit guys next week against Arizona.

Eh...week 18 and going into the playoffs, I'm not looking to develop upside. I just want a non-liability.

I’d argue I’m not sure if we can Toth a non-liability. He was good against the giants (most have been) and after that regressed

I think the 49ers and Seahawks could be one and done, even with one of them getting the bye. If the Rams are the 5 seed, hard to see them losing a playoff game in Carolina or TB; I know they lost at Carolina earlier this year, but Bryce Young in the playoffs is not something I am betting on.

OK, I'll settle for not being a MASSIVE liability.

Even if the starters play week 18 (I would sit them), Jurgens should sit and rest.

The only thing 8s Seattle would be the weakest 1 seed because of SD at QB. I could see them losing their first game giving the 2 or 3 a home game in the NFCCG.

Kafka could be great (or awful), but he doesn't check any boxes that everyone is clamoring for. He isn't proven at all. He had a tenuous relationship with Daboll where they constantly were back-and-forth in who was play calling en route to no success whatsoever. Not proven, not universally respected, not a known entity. Sure, he went to Andy Reid university, but that's the LAST way the Jalen Hurts offense needs to be run.

My point is that everyone is saying it was so moronic that the eagles didn't get a proven, experienced play calling OC for this year. OC jobs either get filled by ascending inexperienced position coaches who are NOT proven or fired head coaches who have done that job before as an OC. Or, I suppose, we could look at the scrap heap of OC's that get fired in the next couple months (inclusive of Kafka), but they are going to be people who really are not that desirable.

lol

And the Rams, last year, were a pretty underwhelming regular season team and clearly the 2nd best team in the playoffs. They did well for themselves resting starters. I suppose one could argue it gave them an earlier date with doom and the Eagles, but they were still a better team for the rest.

Absolutely agree. SB would sit as well IMO along with Carter, Coop, and Mitch. Let the young guys play. Bears aren't losing at home to the Lions anyway.

It's the smart move so Nick probably won't do it.

This. The Eagles are the best team in the NFC; only the Seahawks have a defense even comparable, and if Hurts can't outplay Sam Darnold in a playoff game with the talent he has around him then that's all that needs to be said. I'm still assuming he picks up his game for the playoffs and doesn't have another Bucs outcome, but only time will tell.

I view it this way, Toth might have a higher floor right now. but in the playoffs against playoff caliber opponents i think Toth is a liability and you probably getting about what you are getting with Jurgens. I think there’s this he did well against the giants so he’d be an upgrade. He also began regressing after that. I really don’t think there’s improvement if any with him to Jurgens. The floor may be lower with Kendall as he’s a rookie but at the moment but I’d argue his potential ceiling is higher if he’s picked up things over training camps and 18 weeks of learning the offense and working with stoutland. He may very well be an upgrade over Toth at this point in time as compared to 8-12 weeks ago.

IMO if we are sitting Jurgens in week 18 and a bunch of starters, I much rather see what Kendall looks like against the commanders. Not that the commanders are telling me much. But if he looks good against the commanders, at least I have the trust that he could do what Toth did against a bad Giants team.

The last time a Super Bowl was played in Santa Clara, a team with a great defense and bad offense won a Super Bowl. Eagles may need history to repeat itself.

The second half offense is really a concern going into playoff and beyond. Defense keeps us in the game, but the non-performing offense would win many games against the playoff teams. Clearly they won't change the OC at this point. Very little outside helps can be done this late in the season now. Siri and Stoutland (run game coordinator) have to take control of the game plans and even the play calling.

The eagles won’t be this lucky in playoffs.
