It could have been better for sure - and the team should not have rested the starters last week.

That said - the refs won this game for the 49ers

Nah, we lost the game due to our inept offense, insufficient coaching, off day defensively and lack of emotion.

We can stop the talk about the defense being Super Bowl caliber too. They weren’t that today.

Well, they weren't the 2000 Ravens. But, the Eagles offense pretty much was.

They were good enough to win a Super Bowl on defense, you can't deny that. The flip side is that they weren't so dominant that they could carry the dead carcass of an offense over the finish line.

The Eagles, in a nut shell...

Welp good riddance to a disappointing season.

Promote Patullo to head custodian

Maybe you missed when the defense gave up two TDs in the 4th quarter and got totally dominated throughout. The game doesn't end after 3 quarters.

When was the offense supposed to show up? The defense gave them opportunities, and you're mad they didnt make every single stop

I think we need some speed at WR. We just are not an explosive offense unless Barkley goes yard. We need to push the coverage back too.

I’m just starting to look at draft prospects — how is the UGA kid Zachariah Branch? Seems like he has elite speed, but I haven’t really watched him play a ton. Mid round pick maybe?

Lol people blaming the defense that held them to 10 points through 3 quarters. The defense was beyond good enough, forced two turnovers, gave good field position all game except for maybe 2 drives. The offense lays the biggest egg of the season and we're in here talking about the defense lol.

Because we all agree the offense sucked. No need to discuss that.

Just booked a 1100 tee time next Sunday in Quakerstown if anyone is interested. F the rest of the playoffs. Don't care

The problem is how much talent we had.

The eagles have had some bad offenses in my years as a fan, but it was expected because they had no talent.

On paper this should be a top 3 offense. There are pro bowl level players at 7 or 8 of the starting positions. Yet somehow we suck.

Mailata's year was less than normal...
Dickerson was hurt...
Cam was hurt...
RG was new...
Lane didn't play.

Brown had a lot of drops.
Smitty was really good as always.
Goedert was quite good.
Slot is irrelevant.
QB1 is not a particularly high level QB right now (has time to change) without the running game.
Saquon cannot function without a clean first level.

The first level was not clean, because of the breakdown of the OL above. Because of that, Jalen had a much harder time as he cannot carry with arm without a quality running game. Patullo was not good enough to make up for these issues, and made our playbook for the year not anticipating we'd have such tremendous issues in the running game. It's kind of like the opposite of a complementary offensive unit.

The offensive talent is overrated, because they did not do the thing needed for the offense to be successful: It all starts with the guys up front being able to run block. I told you guys this all year.

They gave up two fourth quarter touchdown drives. We already knew the offense sucked. I’m not giving them a pass.

Fine - the legion of whom stepped up, the eagles D was just good today.

likely round 2. And Hurts cant use a guy like that. He needs big possession WRs.

Hurts should have scrambled more and if he can’t anymore than I’m fine upgrading.

Blaming him for the loss is crazy though after all the drops.

We’re mad they gave up two TD drives in the fourth quarter to an offense with almost no receiving talent once Kittle went out. Goodness.

He is a competent offensive guy. Love has an awesome passing scheme to play.

Siri adds nothing. Fangio is the same with either guy.

If you have to castrate a HC twice then its time to find a new HC.

Can’t go to the SB every year. Sirianni’s "bad” years are 11 win seasons; we’re spoiled right now where it’s easy to forget we’re not having training camp holdouts and guys demanding trades. Even with tabloid stuff with AJ, Sirianni keeps it together

There's no way I blame the defense for today lol like at all

I'm not very bummed. Especially since the Eagles won a SB last season. This season never felt right from game #1 so my expectations were tempered since like October. Guys banged up that felt like they never healed up from 2024, guys having down years, a poor training camp, a terrible offense, signings not working out. This just wasn't the year. And if they have the opportunity to land a top OC and top assistants by getting bounced early, with Howie at the helm, I'm super confident they'll be right back at it next season. This is the youngest defense in football. Now spend this offseason retooling the offense and finding a CB2 on defense.

No the defense did not do their job. They're supposed to be elite and were terrible today. The Seahawks held this team to 3 fing points. This was a total team disaster and the defense needs to eat a lot of the blame.

This is dumb to blame the defense they held them to 23 points and got 2 int.

Offense has 30 million dollars with a 25 cent scheme

So did the week off maybe hurt the defense a little? Seems like they were playing soft too much giving WRs too much cushion at times. Also seemed like most big throws were on Adoree Jackson. I said earlier this year if they are in a position to draft a top CB early in the 1st or 2nd then take him to pair with DeJean and Q.

Who has a better shot of being an Eagle next year Patullo or AJ?

No, the defense was NOT good enough to win a super bowl. Not even close to how good they were last year.

I know this might be surprising coming from me, but I don't think it was all his fault either. Those last two throws were abysmal though. But AJ did him absolutely no favors. None.

Good news is: can start interviewing new coaches!

AJ won't be traded, gonna start a new thread about it, but I've heard from inside sources that they have no plans to move him. I'll put a guarantee on that.

100% agree. The defense did enough. there has been 4 playoff games this weekend, and the only team to score less points than the 49ers so far is the Eagles.

There is a special WR prospect for us in this draft: Nyck Harbor. Basically DK Metcalf except bigger, taller, faster well into Calvin Johnson measurables territory. He is...neither productive nor unproductive.

He'll be a first round pick after the combine. And I just don't think WR is a first round option for us right now.

Doesn't AJ's contract prevent it? I know a lot of people have been screaming for him to be traded but I swear one of the cap guys said that's not happening multiple times
