That's one thing Lurie will do is pay coaches handsomely.

Herbert made runs but still couldnt get more than a fg for the entire game, some of which was due to dumb calls by the coach. And 3 backup offensive lineman, and taking an absolute beating.

Its just the way he had to adapt it to fit Hurts.I said for years and years that this didnt resemble his offense in Indy. No ine listens because it disproved their pro-Hurts and anti-Siri narratives. It's legitimately not even close. I was wondering if maybe it'd be a little elementary but...I'm sorry, it's definitely at least an average scheme from what I saw.

The offense was what it was all year long. They weren't magically flipping a switch against the commanders in week 18, the only hope was hurts running more or the team bringing in a consultant for the playoffs. Neither thing happened, so we got what we had the entire season which was the league's most underachieving offense
6 hours ago6 hr I really thought Nolan Smith was going to turn into a killer Edge this season the way he finished last year. Maybe it was the injury so he deserves a break, but I thought he was the most disappointing player on the defense this year.

6 hours ago6 hr I would love McDaniel, but if he doesn’t get a HC job it feels like Detroit is a slam dunk choice for him. They have all the ingredients for a great year and a HC job in 2027. To me, if we want a proven playcaller, that leaves Monken and Kingsbury as the clear next best options, with Monken significantly ahead. Who else is there as a proven, veteran offensive mind?

It’s time for him to give up influence in the offense altogether.Businesses have CEOs. Get over it. That’s a concept that has worked. It’s not the issue....Yeah uh. I'm not entirely sure we're running a scheme at all after going back and watching a game from early 2021. If that's the pure version of Sirianni's offense, I have no idea what the hell we saw this year - or frankly, even last year in the passing game.
6 hours ago6 hr Weird game from an analytic stand point.Eagles win turnover battle 2-0Eagles won TOP by 11 minutes.Eagles ran more plays 72- 58They doubled niners up in rush yards 140-75So how did they lose?Penalties 7 to 1 and seemed all 7 were at crucial times. Sure the refs sucked and it was one sided but the players need to be better. And yards/ play. Eagles ran more plays but had less total yards because SF averaged 6.2 yards a play and the eagles a paltry 4.3Eagles gave up way too many big chunk plays and didnt have enough of their own.Lastly chasing 1 missed point all game on a missed extra point doesnt help.I think Howie and his analytic department need to go back to the drawing board, I imagine the times a team wins TOP by over 2 minutes doubles up rushing yards and has a 2-0 turnover battle and loses are pretty rare but thats what happened. They played the analytic odds game and won many of the analytics games but lost the actual game☹️

Im saving my money. He has a very short spurt of excellent play and mostly bust caliber performance throughout his career so far.

You could even argue they were dominating in that stretch. But the first 49ers drive was the worst the D looked on an opening drive all year. The 4th quarter Purdy was carving them up and moving the ball at will. The pass rush reverted to what it looked like when Uche was the sack leader. Overall, it was a bad performance. I'm not going to assign blame % as we all know the offense is clearly #1, but the Defense had it's hand in losing the game yesterday. It's a shame because the D carried them to the WC round but they had an inconsistent game at the worst time. Some of those Purdy throws were damn good, and throws no one has had the balls to try on us all year

You'll be ignored though. To be fair, I don't think it's right to base it on Sirianni's offense from the Colts, he wasn't really running that but...Early 2021, there's really no question as to who's in control. None whatsoever. I'm not sure I saw that many crossing routes in a game from the last 3 years combined.

I'm sure he would have kept at least a few dozen plays in the back of his playbook, no?And like I said earlier, the gameplanning, play design and play calling was even worse when McKee played.

It seems likely that McDaniel being a laid back, less intense coach inadvertently caused a riff on the defense side since Vic is pretty much the opposite. If he were to be the HC again, I think that would be a problem to discuss. But as an OC, I don't see why there would be any issues with Vic or players. If you like him I'm sold

How do we know how much of that offense was his? I remember being so excited because the Colts the season before had dudes running open all over the place. I’m not saying I want him gone. As someone else said, I’m fine with the CEO thing. He hasn’t shown much creativity as an offensive mind though.
