EMB Blog: 2025 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

Penix was an historically bad draft pick, in terms of process anyway. Every defensive player was still on the draft board when they selected him (after giving Kirk Cousins $100M guaranteed just six weeks earlier).

Their incompetence helped us draft Q at #22 so everything worked out ..... for us.

Worked out well for us. It helped Quinyon fall in our laps.

Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

Not sure I want to see Lane or Jurgens back before the playoffs even if they are somehow "ready” before then.

Jurgens has been awful all year

Was it misogynistic to assume she had an onlyfans?

Googling that name and she does though lol

Course she does. Her insta is pretty good too. Seems like a sweet lass

We spoke about the deadline hit, but what are the cap implications of trading Alshon Jeffery Brown in the offseason? Can it be reduced if he agrees to a new contract with the receiving team?

20m cap hit to trade him at the draft. Thats doable. Then a monster cap windfall in 2027

Yup. We ran triple option in HS out of a wing T formation, we called it ACE. The two wing backs were of course RBs not TEs and we split our WRs out wide. All year ive been wondering why they heck patullo sirriani are packing everything in tight and running it, general rule is spread em out to run and pack em in to pass but patullo does the opposite.

Now with Lane out I imagine well see less 6 OL fronts and instead just get more " jumbo" sets with small bad blocking TEs☹️

They like the tight formations because it requires the defense to be 100% gap disciplined. The idea is that if you can just create a small crease there's no one on the 2nd and 3rd levels.

The problem is that we don't have enough good blockers so there's never a crease

Trading up for Penix was a mistake. I don't know if it was historically bad. In any event, I think the bigger mistake was signing Cousins.

They didn't trade up for Penix, though. That's partly what made the process so terrible. If they had their sights on a first round QB, it was ridiculous to give Cousins a $180M contract in free agency (and tampered in the course of doing so). They would have (should have) known very well Penix would be available at #8 (he was never being mocked any higher than that) and they would be selecting him. If they didn't know that by early March, then WTH was Fontenot doing in his draft prep?

Good question for @vikas83 and @LeanMeanGM they can answer it better than me

It accelerates. Sometimes you can do a BS restructure to spread over 2 years. Kelce and others did this.

Fangio and the D staff doing things the other side of the ball can only dream of

See this is what its like to have a coordinator that has forgotten more about football than Patullo ever learned... and still knows way more than most of the DCs around the NFL.

Having a ''field" corner and a "boundary" corner... that's NCAA stuff. And I love it!!! He's maximizing what he has. And it's working beautifully.

Going under the knife tomorrow for acl reconstruction/meniscus repair. I know these athletes undergo this procedure all the time but have to be honest I'm a little nervous

Well sure thats a great theory but its not working because they dont have the personnel to do it yet patullo keeps dialing up these dumb formations hoping saquon breaks one and its not happening, he has 2 runs over 20 yards this year, last year he had 17.

Barkley has zero running room most carries the blocking is bad the formations and plays are predictable its just an all around sh show, AJ brown said exactly what every body has been thinking

This offense is the most expensive offense in the history of the league and theyre ranked 30th.

That stat alone should get patullo canned but they keep getting bailed out by a dominant D so nothing changes.

This isnt like the 2000 ravens where their offense had a bunch of scrubs at WR and a bad IOL they have great WRs a top RB still a good O line and Siri and Patullo have kept it in first gear all year just relying on the D.

Understandably. It'll be okay though. The hard part comes after.

Good luck, hit your rehab hard, the sooner you are bending it and moving and getting your range of motion back the better

I just learned the Eagles play Chip Kelly this year.

Random thought but it's great for a player when one of their teammates is the best at their prospective position. You're leaning from the best

Praying for you man, hope all goes well

I think Carter got paid full for the Dallas game then fined a game check for the next game as if he was suspended.

Since Chase is suspended for a game, he looses that paycheck.

IIRC

Last year PFF( take it for what its worth) had mailata the number 1 ranked player in the whole league, not just OL player, thats alot to love up to again but hes been pretty subpar this year ☹️
