Disagree. He looked awful in the preseason and did not earn a roster spot. They even showcased him in the final preseason game and cut him because they knew he wasn’t getting claimed. The plan was DTR or McCord to be #3 and neither earned the job.

He 100% looked like dog water, but if McKee doesn’t break his hand I’m not so sure the Howell trade happens. He’s not Clayton Thorson bad.

Aren't they stuck with Watson for a few more years because of that hideous contract? I do think it would have been smart earlier in the year to trade him but I'm biased because I want him here lol

Yup. so it’s not that they’re just stuck in that contract but you also gave up draft capital to get into that contract. So you’re already behind in building up this roster because you gave away those picks and have really nothing to show for it. It’s why they should’ve seen how much the eagles (any team) were willing to give up. I’d imagine the browns would’ve asked for McKee, 3 firsts and a rookie contract defensive player like hunt. Even if they got 2 first, McKee and hunt thats a start for them in this rebuild. you are never going to get the actual value of what Miles Garrett is as a player cause no team would pay that price. However, they are gonna waste the prime of his career like Thomas and have nothing to show for it. It sucks to trade him but he isn’t resurrecting this franchise and eventually when he declines you’ll still be bad and now lower value trying to deal him

Howie didn't seem all that appreciative that Vic said his input is "minuscule".

Vic is too old to be overly diplomatic about it. Not sure why Howie would be surprised by that.

I think some moves didn’t happen cause there’s some bad organizations that make bad decisions. The Jets also should’ve traded Hall for a 4th round pick. If he leaves in free agency, the odds are you’re probably only getting a fourth round compensatory pick in 2027 and that’s if the Jets don’t use any other cap money just go. Which seems unlikely, considering the fact the roster needs an infusion of talent. Not only that compensatory pick is not gonna be until 2027.

Then you got a team like the Bengals with Hendrickson. The Bengals owner notoriously does stupid things like this and not trade guys. He is going to leave in free agency this off-season. They’re not going to franchise him. So at most you’re gonna get a 2027 3rd round compensatory pick. They were asking for a 1st. I am guessing there was probably a team out there that was willing to give up a third round pick for Hendrickson. So instead of trading him and getting that third round pick in 2026 instead of 2027, you held onto him for what reason? The defense stinks with him. The defense is going to continue to stink with him. And he’s gonna leave in FA and you’re not getting anything for him until 2027.

Hendrickson was one of the few names that came up a lot that had a realistic shot of getting traded. However the bengals are a terrible organization. The rest are just people throwing ish against the wall with no understanding of the cap and how things work. Sure plenty of teams called the Browns asking what Myles would be willing to do to work the salary issue with a trade. Same with Crosby probably. Then there’s rumors like Woolen, which teams called the Seachickens asking what they would give them to take him off their hands.

I guess someone over there didn’t realize they are 1-17 in games without Murray starting and finishing the game.

What a dumpster fire.

Are you suggesting that Kyler Murray, who is 16 and 25 as a starter since AJ Brown joined the Eagles, is the answer for them and they should not go with the guy who just played well?

Is Brissett at 1-2 responsible for the other 15 losses?

Murray has 1 winning season in 7 tries, should they give him 14 more to get 2 more winning seasons?

Some high school football stadium, there in Royce City.

Yeh I am in Royse City, graduated here back in '88, married my hs girl and we're still holding it down. My kids were 4th generation RC graduates. I live about a mile from the hs and Buccees. It's just a lot different now and yeh the stadium is really nice but nothing compared to Allen, McKinney, Katy, Prosper, some have spent spend $80 million on stadiums. RC went quite a bit cheaper, as a tax payer I am thankful. The amount of money spent on football here in Texas is insane, hc coaches/AD making between $120k - $200k a year depending on the size of the district.

This was built in 2007, opened in 2009, resurfaced two years ago. Doesn't seat anything close to 12k, more like 8500.

He’s not Thorson bad. But McKee never went on IR and only missed one game. I don’t think they make the Howell move essentially just for one game.

Woolen never made any sense especially not to a contending team in the nfc. They weren’t going to trade him just to trade him. I feel like they expect him to leave in FA and get a comp pick for him as he gets paid elsewhere.

Raiders put out there multiple times Crosby wasn’t available. More cowboys fans throwing that out there.

The cap situation with Garrett is what it is. But listening to the guy on sportrac discuss it there’s ways to manipulate and maneuver around that if the Browns were willing to trade him. Imo i think the Browns it’s more that they don’t want to trade a player like Myles Garrett. Especially because the same people in charge currently that made the trade for Watson. So essentially they are all going to be remembered as the front office that did that disaster trade of Watson and traded away Garrett.

The original thought wad 4 games. He dressed as the emergency qb the first 3 weeks though I thought?

@ManuManu kind of why we didn’t love that trade and the colts did it cause they are sold on jones

Inactive Week 1. Emergency QB weeks 2 and 3.

I still feel like the move was made for a solid option for the rest of the year and perhaps QB2 if you move McKee next offseason. If either McCord or DTR showed they could hold the fort for the first four games, I don’t think they make that trade.

You can blame me. I turned the Flyers game on and it was 3-0. They are now down 4-3. Awesome.

Negadelphinas are a special bunch. Hurts is playing too well to be your punching bag so now its time for Howie.

How did you spend the greatest era in the history of the Philadelphia Eagles?

Oh. I mostly complained about Hurts and Howie. Hurts was almost never perfect unlike the way other QBs play in my delusions. Howie did not destroy the cap so I could feel good about the off season.

The guys in the HoF? The guys who won 3 rings in 5 years?

Yeah, I was deeply offended that the 6th round draft pick QB failed and he gave up 2 picks for a RB who had 100+ rushing yards at 10+ a pop in a game. He also traded for Fred.

The guy who was a 5x better improvement over Pryor? The guy who became the blocking TE on power sets?

Yeah, well he was good, but I'm not really an Eagles fan. I'm more of an Isaiah Rodgers, Milton Williams, and Josh Sweat fan. I'm really digging Josh Jobe now too.

Williams at 24m a year after 3 sacks in 2024? Sweat who was a well paid mediocrity at 19m a year? Rodgers who was pathetically grabbing at DeVonta's jersey as he went 80+ for a TD?

Yeah, I live in an alternate reality where I build the roster and Howie ruins my dreams by being the best GM in football. Oh yeah, Sweat had a couple sacks vs Dallas so that invalidates Super Bowl wins by Howie.

You don't think JP would generate a 5th round comp pick if he walks?

With the qualifier that he needs to walk and not be resigned, I'll bet that he meets the level to generate a 5th rounder. Now if it is cancelled out by someone we sign, but the pick would have been a 5th, I win.

If those terms work, I'm game for it. How much?

If he's re-signed, that's sort of a push. If he's re-signed for a lot of money, in fairness, that means I've lost the bet, but then the fine print gets hairy. I have no idea how to establish that the pick would have been a 5, but I trust you. @mattwill has it figured out. I'll send you a drink. I'm not a gambler, but I love buying people drinks and I love people buying drinks for me. So it's win/win.

Tbh the flyers are better off just being bad right now. They need to inject more high end prospects (having to trade gauther didn’t help them) and get an actually goalie. Vladar been good so far this year but really i expect him to come back to what he’s been most of his career.

You know what's worse than spending the golden era of Eagles history complaining about Hurts and Howie? Spending it complaining about people complaining about Hurts and Howie.

Of course, I'm complaining about people complaining about people complaining about Hurts and Howie. So that makes me the worst.

Not sure how many 76ers fans in here but don’t sleep on them.

This is a different team this year. Super talented with a deep bench. The offense no longer revolves around Embiid and it’s working - like really, really well.

And this is without Paul George; who should be back soon.

Not sure what the joke is that you are laughing at. Brissett is a better QB than Murray. The Cardinals' main problem this year has been the defense can't hold a lead, which is something Gannon struggled with here too. Cardinals should win more games with Brissett, if the D doesn't suck the rest of the year.

Well stats doen’t lie - they’re 1-17 without Murray, so I respectfully disagree.
