I can easily see Carter turning into a Hanynesworth situation after getting paid.Howie needs to extend Byron Young. Right now! 😄 But seriously, maybe you pull a Jerruh like he did with Parsons and trade him for 2 firsts in year 4 offseason. But I don't commit to JC this offseason at all.
6 hours ago6 hr From a team cohesion perspective, I'd think one of Davis or Dean will get an extension. There are glue players on all teams, and both those players are ones that bring people together. I'd think Davis is more likely than Dean

McKay replied, "I'm in favor of it".McKay had a bunch of ‘em. After OJ Simpson carried the ball 38 times in a game against UCLA, a reporter asked McKay, "Aren’t you afraid he’ll get tired?”To which the coach answered, "He’s not in a union. He’ll carry the ball as many times as we want him to.” and "It’s not heavy. I’ll tell him when he’s tired.”
6 hours ago6 hr Quick Q. Why did this offense look its best recently without AJ Brown? Might be something to that. The Hurts/AJ connection is a problem overall and not clicking and getting force fed there. Might be just too many mouths to feed. And AJ isn't prime AJ, as I've said all year. In the offense, we saw more Smith, Dotson and Goedert. And Barkley in the passing game. Ball was spread around nicely. Cooper is your number 3 and fine there. Could be there's just better chemistry without this year's version of AJ? The guy certainly doesn't care to block. On another note, Johnny Wilson added a nice element to blocking in the running game. No one doing that dirty work right now.

But in my mind was the Mitchell PI is weak if on 3rd and 4 in OT when chargers ent the house and the defender is basically grabbing brown’s hand and arm the entire way down the field. The non-call on the AJ was worse given the issue. The holding calls were just all over the place.

I think extending Davis this offseason is a cheaper option for them long-term. It probably delays a decision on Carter but that's OK.

6 hours ago6 hr I don't want a QB who needs to be micromanaged by a great OC and HC. If we have to constantly build an offense around making sure the QB doesn't make dumb decisions and simplifying everything for him, then we need a new QB. We thrived last year with this "strategy" because Barkley went absolutely wild and covered up the same stuff we saw in 2023 and this year. Now we once again see what happens when we have to go outside of the box for a little bit and let Hurts make decisions. And honestly, I'm tired of watching his constant back pedaling every snap. He's leaving yards on the field nearly every play which is why so many of his throws barely make it passed the LoS. I think people are underestimating the candidates for OC because I guarantee you no one is going to want to coach an offense if they have to deal with this bs.

Campbell was drafted for a reason and has shown up on tape, so extending Dean with that in mind, is not entirely beneficial. You can't pay for leadership skills on a player
6 hours ago6 hr 5 years ago today Jalen was announced the starter. I'd have to go back and check, but if so the timing is kind of funny with thousands of people asking for him to sit down

And we aren't mentioning his fumble, which was a boneheaded play by him. He needed to just fall on that ball when it bounced to him after he threw the pick and the defender fumbled. He tried to make a play. The play to make was to secure possession of the ball... just jump on it and live to play another down.
