If they did that - and I'm certain they won't - I'll bet Howie's phone would start ringing.

Sure, but he can't trade him as Vikas has explained to us numerous times. So, I'll settle for having him as a backup.

Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

They can make Hurts the wild cat guy.

We can use Mayfield then. How much changes with Baker back there instead of Hurts?

He'll be a free agent in 2027, unless the Bucs keep him. I would think by that time, Eagles would just draft a QB if they hadn't already.

If you make the decision to bench Hurts, like they did with Carson on 2020, then you have to also be 100% committed to moving on from him in the offseason. Which, given the cap implications, they can't do. He's the starting QB no matter what, as Nick literally just said.

Come on...you know what coach speak is...

They do not have to be committed to moving on from him this offseason. They dont even need to bench him right now. Just, next year McKee is the starter and since Hurts can't be moved, hes the backup.

I'm not the biggest Hurts guy like rtk and skippy but even I think that's disrespectful lol

Funny to hear that Hurts sucks and he outplayed a hall of famer in 2 Superbowls. Must have been sheer luck. You guys have lost your minds! There are so many issues right now and he is one of them. But it's gotten extreme here. It's a team game bros. They aren't helping him much this year with play calling, key player drops, bad penalties and Saquon missing clear holes regularly. Lot of crap happening on the offense to step on their own toes. And the kicker blows as well. In spite of his terrible performance last week, he still made enough plays last week to win. Only 2 guys are playing well in Devanta and Goedert. The rest are playing subpar.

I'm constantly seeing this even on facebook. What would Hurts have looked like if he faced Eagles defense in SB 59?

People are always taking 2 separate scenarios and acting like they're comparable

By the way @vikas83 as much as you can try to reason with the cap implications, one think you really need to consider is that for all the mistakes Howie has made over the years, hes not been one to just sit on his mistakes. He owns them and turns things over very quickly.

If they all realize Hurts is not it anymore, then Howie is going to either find a way out of it with lesser pain than you are able to figure on your spreadsheets, or hes just going to shock you and eat the bullet.

One thing we can be sure of is Howie is not just going to say oops, oh well we are stuck and sit on hia hands for the next 3 seasons till its more affordable to get a new QB. Spreadsheets be damned...

You're great at the numbers but youre forgetting the behavioral side of things.

It's all hypothetical. What did he actually do? He performed very well is the bottom line. Statistically and eye test wise. This year he was actually solid until the Cowboys collapse in the 2nd half. Not even a whole year of sucking. Maybe 3 weeks. Had 19 TDs and 2 ints going into Chargers game. Overreaction here everywhere. Comical!

Not nearly as well. But now do Super Bowl 57...

Hurts and the offense played well in the SB but millions know it was the defense that won it. That defense was a thing of beauty

Yes it was dominant. But the defense is playing pretty good right now and losing. You need a solid QB to win a Superbowl who can make plays and he did a bunch of that. But it's still a team game where the offense was clicking. And he was an important cog of course.

You're setting up McKee to fail with a $50 million dollar a year QB that won a Super Bowl on the bench. You don't want that overhang if you think McKee can be your long term guy. It makes no sense. You need Hurts to pull a Watson or something to move off him before 2027.

We literally can't field a 53 man roster in 2026 if we trade him before June 1, 2026.

Not sure I agree with this. Geno has been terrible this season, but Pickett is awful and Geno has a higher ceiling. Pickett is a bad passer. But ultimately if this makes an impact, the Eagles are beyond screwed to begin with.

Just saying our mental health as fans might be better not having to watch this offense for a year lol

Yeah but now you got Kenny Pickett revenge factor!!!!!

I honestly would have expected them to increase the time to allow more ads. I'm surprised they're shortening it

Let's put Carson Strong in there. Geniuses. Many people still eating crow in here about that and that you CAN win a Superbowl with Hurts. Went to 2 of them so far by the age of 26. If that's all he does ever it's still a hell of a pick by Howie. Had brain dead Carson Wentz at QB. Be thankful.

OK - if we lose to Kenny Pickett, I'm with @HazletonEagle. Play McKee

In all seriousness, they'd never bench him. It would have to be a mystery injury or something, but that won't happen either.
