Sure, but that’s more of a Sirianni problem, or maybe Hurts. None of these guys — Mannion, Grizzard, Mahaffey, etc — knows last year’s pathetic offensive system. Throwing in the towel on the new system so quickly would be a pretty big indictment on either Sirianni (bad hires or a lack of patience) or Hurts (not able to pick up the system).

The offensive scheme last year was Nick’s offense but lacking blocking from TE and WR and poorly called by Patullo. But it is Nick’s. I don’t think Nick or Howie are dumb and don’t recognize that Nick’s plus pieces from elsewhere tend to offer success. I don’t think for a second that this is solely Mannion’s offense this year. With that background, this offense may well have kept Patullo if not for the Miami hire. They kept Singleton and Moorehead and by all appearances Frasier. Apparently they kept Austin. Who knows about the myriad of Quality Control on offense. Assumption is that Michel (can’t teach blocking as that was Stout with TEs) and Loeffler are gone but nothing has been announced. That suggests meld not something totally new. This staff is a mix of old and new.

Crosby only has $30 million in guarantees left. He would be cheaper than Phillips over next season. I think they could also sign him to a cheaper extension than Phillips. I think it depends on the cost in picks.

I'm not willing to give up our 1st. Raiders will want that as part of a deal

Crosby would make the Dline great but I wouldn't want to give up our 1st either. We need it

And have no depth at RB?

I mean they'd obviously add some if they were to go that route.

I’m not sure it will cost that much but I still might do it. Whoever you draft most likely won’t have the same impact of a healthy Maxx. Him being healthy is always a question but if he is then I think he would make an enormous impact on the defense.

You’re right that there’s definitely risk though.

Some are addicted to drugs. Others alcohol, gambling, porn, etc.

The Texans’ addiction? Trading offensive linemen

We would have the Shipster.

If the board broke this way, I dont think Howie would wait until 23 for an opportunity at Ioane or Fano. Doubt this happens but if it did I would be pumped.

I never understood the fans from other teams saying the Eagles will trade AJ for a 3rd and 5th. Trading one of the best WRs in the league for pennies, with a massive team impacting cap hit is Madden AI stuff. With the cap hit before 1 June, the compensation needs to be absolutely stellar.

Thrash and a 5th?

Way too vague. A 1st rounder from, say, Seattle or New England or Buffalo is worth way less than a 1st rounder from Washington or Cleveland or...

Just being Captain Obvious.

I read the other day the Eagles are asking for a 1st and 2nd for AJ. He'll be an Eagle this upcoming season

I'd be happy with Fano, at RG not at tackle.

Lets say Eagles keep AJ Brown afterall. If the Eagles actually create an environment for Smith to reach a next level while still having Barkley and the run game a big part of the offense, how much complaining will Brown do every week being third fiddle?

I think there's a universe where we could use all 3. Other teams are able to do it with multiple playmakers

That could be your CB2 in 2026 unless some team offers him a lot.

I was thinking about this yesterday when folks were consternating about the Eagles offense perhaps taking another step back next season. My reply was going to be "just make DeVonta Smith the volume target in the offense."

Smith was 22nd in the NFL last season with 113 targets. There were 8 players in the NFL last season with 140+ targets; one would assume the Eagles would have Smith be in the 140-150 targets range under this notion. My guess has been Brown gets traded after June 1 with a lesser WR getting signed over the summer as a stopgap.

Coming off a torn ACL, he's not going to make big money. Pass.

Not taking a political position, but this is hysterical.

What an awful trade by DC.

It is fun to slowly see their fans realize that Harris is no savior, and being better than Snyder doesn't mean he's actually a good owner.

They are going to sign a vet CB and I don't see a lot of attractive names out there. At least in their price range. They had interest in him in the past. I'd rather have him as depth instead of Adoree again. They could honestly probably sign both at the price they'd cost, which is pretty damn cheap. I assume they'll draft a CB though at some point. But I think they are going to want to go into the season with a vet that has more upside than Adoree as insurance in case a draft pick or the other young guys don't work out and I could see Lattimore threading that needle. I think they'll be priced out for someone like Alontae Taylor or Woolen.

Would be crazy not to bring in Lattimore for a workout. He may be toast, but at 29, he should have 1-2 good years in him.

There is a universe we could do it, but is it a universe where AJ is happy with it is the question. If he isn't getting the lion's share of targets he's probably going to cry about it

Use all 3, sure, but it's not going to be to AJ's liking.

The two closest teams to using 3 playmakers is the Rams and Bengals. The second WR in those offenses had 60 receptions, 789 yards, 14 TD's and 59 receptions, 846 yards and 11 TD's. And that's with Stafford and Burrow so you could probably dock some TD's for Brown. If he had 60 receptions 800 yards and 7 TD's he would lose his mind. He just had 78 receptions, 1,003 yards and 7 TD's and he still wasn't happy.
