I'd bring him in for a workout but would be hesitant to count on him as a starter during FA. He's probably not even going to be cleared for a workout until the summer.

Adoree was serviceable the 2nd half of the year.

If the Eagles actually create an environment for Smith to reach a next level while still having Barkley and the run game a big part of the offense, how much complaining will Brown do every week being third fiddle?Im going to say, not that much as long as the offense is looking good.

He did play better in the 2nd half but they also had to adjust the defense and primarily have Mitchell play boundary. I think Vic might want someone more interchangeable to disguise some of his looks.

Guess they can go draft pick, but I'd think Adoree on a cheap deal as insurance makes sense - can't imagine he will have a big market. Woolen or Jobe from Seattle?

5 hours ago5 hr I see we're in the annual post combine, pre free agency period where ESPN is 100% dedicated to telling us how Jerry Jones will be going all in and the Cowboys are real contenders. Since Hollywood no longer makes comedies, this is the funniest thing in entertainment every year. Even with all the restructures, they have ~$10mm in cap space because of the franchise tag hold on Pickens. They could create more by extending Q Williams, restructuring or cutting Clark, and restructuring guys like Bland and Osa. But they won't because...Jerry.

4 hours ago4 hr Can someone explain to me exactly what it means to create an environment where Smith can reach another level? This is the part of the offseason where random wishcasting feels like a switch that can just get flipped into reality. The last OC didn't want his WRs to be open, so the new one is just going to flip the "scheme open" switch. The same QB that threw the ball 5 yards oob every time Smith had a step downfield and who did not hit him in stride is suddenly going to turn him into a 1,500 yard receiver while AJ still gets his targets.

If he isn't getting the lion's share of targets he's probably going to cry about itI think there’s a big difference between AJ getting a ton of targets and what we saw last year. AJ expects the passing game to be humming, and when it isn’t AND he isn’t getting any touches it makes sense why he would be frustrated. Don’t buy into the media narrative about him. He is way less of a diva than most other WR1s.

So it's not a leap to think that an improved offense if it does what they're hoping, would help both receivers get back to those kind of numbers.

I don’t think Nick or Howie are dumb and don’t recognize that Nick’s plus pieces from elsewhere tend to offer success. I don’t think for a second that this is solely Mannion’s offense this year. With that background, this offense may well have kept Patullo if not for the Miami hire. They kept Singleton and Moorehead and by all appearances Frasier. Apparently they kept Austin. Who knows about the myriad of Quality Control on offense. Assumption is that Michel (can’t teach blocking as that was Stout with TEs) and Loeffler are gone but nothing has been announced. That suggests meld not something totally new. This staff is a mix of old and new.We kept some lower level assistants. That’s fairly normal when making an outside hire at OC. Remember, Mannion doesn’t have a deep Rolodex for assistant coaches being that he’s 32 or whatever. But we changed the OC, pass game coordinator and run game coordinator. Keeping a tight ends coach and wide receiver coach doesn’t suggest a meld. This is a major change. That doesn’t mean there won’t be some of the old stuff. It’s not like the Eagles don’t run some similar concepts. Any OC worth a darn would want to keep in some of the timings that the offense, namely Hurts, does well.
4 hours ago4 hr Is AJ's complaint the actual stats? Or the feeling that he can be utilized more, there are missed opportunities where he thinks he can dominate the defender? Like more vibes over numbers? In looking at both WRs numbers since 2022 (when they both were on the team together):2022: AJ's first year here, the targets and receptions were pretty close and he led both categories, and he had more yards and TDs. 2023: Brown had significantly more targets, receptions and yards and the TDs were the same. This was a year under Brian Johnson when everyone complained about the offense.2024: both WR numbers down due to dominant run game. But like 2022, targets and receptions were close. Brown slightly more targets, Smith 1 more reception, Brown still more yards, Smith 1 more TD. 2025: similar to 2024 in how close the numbers were to each other except TDs, also Brown played 2 less games and they played Smitty the final game to pad his stats then sat him.
