March 5Mar 5 Pipe dream, but Crosby on this defense would just be filthy. Wonder if he would restructure his contract to some degree to play for a Super Bowl contender.

Tyreke Hill is washed and maybe that is their plan but wouldn't be a great one. They seem to be dedicted to just not investing in offensive weapons foe him like the Patriots were for the 2nd half of Brady's career with them.
March 5Mar 5 I don't believe Lane even runs his account. I've heard him say that before but I don't know if he was joking. I think he has a social media manager who runs it for him.

Supabowl In reality it would be funny if neither gets traded this season after all the speculation.

March 5Mar 5 For the 8 millionth time, unless we extend Goedert before 3/10 (and thereby defer some of his $20mm cap hit when his contract voids on that date), we can't trade AJ Brown before June 1. Post all the idiocy from beat reporters and "analysts" you want, but math is indeed math. This would leave us with just over $4mm in cap space to sign: multiple TEs, CB2, starting S, and multiple edge rushers. Can't get all that from the draft. And Howie usually keeps cap space going into the year of around ~$5mm.
March 5Mar 5 The Bears got a 2 for that corpse? We can’t possibly trade Brown for less than a 1 plus.

The stupidity has to stop. We basically can't field a team if we trade him pre June 1. If they do it, they are tanking the season.

We likely will move off AJ after this season (if we don't trade post June 1), and likely Barkley as well. We have ~62mm in 2027 cap space per Spotrac right now, but that's with JC at $27mm on the 5th year option - we should lower that by at least ~15mm (being conservative). So call it $77mm. Trading AJ pre June 1 would cost around $26.5mm of incremental cap space (Spotrac wrong on this on their website). So we can handle it then.2026 we have very little flexibility.
March 5Mar 5 I don't see how they can trade AJ and re-sign Phillips. So it would effectively cost you multiple players.
